Chapter 82 : I Am So Sorry

Chapter 82 : I Am So Sorry
Chapter  82: I Am So Sorry

Sophie

“She is safe for now.” His eyes skimmed over my face.

“I will see you soon, sweetheart.” He grabbed the back of my neck and pressed his lips on my temple and I felt nothing but terror. I was shaking, I was shaking so badly.

He let go of me and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him. I looked down at the piece of leather on my lap.

‘It isn't what we say or think that defines us but what we do.’

He had Sarah.

I was shaking in Luciano's arms, I couldn't get father out of my head. I couldn't think of what he was doing with her, Sarah had loved the jacket and she wouldn't have just lost it.

“He looked terrifying.” I mumbled.

“And he had that Taghi tattoo on his temple. He was supposed to be in prison.”

I looked up at him, expecting there to be a surprise on his face but there was nothing. I looked at Adriano and Angelo, their expression were the same as Luciano’s

“You knew?” I whispered as I ripped myself out of his arm and I got off the bed, facing them.

“You guys knew!”

Sophie…” Angelo began and I shook my head.

“You knew, yes or no?” They exchange glances.

“We did.” Luciano said, running a hand through his already messy hair.

“We knew he had escaped and we knew he joined the Ridoam Taghi. The day he escaped was the day everything started.”

“And you didn't think me, his daughter should know about it?” I wiped the tears off my face.

“Why didn't you tell me?”

“We didn't want you to worry.” Adriano replied, looking away.

“You thought I would never find out?” I asked, the tears refused to stop but I kept wiping them away.

“H..he..” I sniffed.

“I trusted the three of you with everything.” I muttered.

They stayed silent for what was there to say, they had kept this from me and they were no one to keep this from me.

“You had no right.” I whispered.

“You had no right to keep this from me, my mother needs to know.” I reached to the nightstand table to grab my phone but Angelo picked it up before me, shaking his head.

“Your father's escape can't become public, it will force him into hiding.”

“He hated my mother.” I hissed.

“He will try to hurt her.”

“You are not calling her.” He said firmly, he threw the phone on the ground and smashed it with his foot, cracking the device.

“For your own fucking safety.” He said and I stayed silent.

“We need to leave now.” Adriano said.

“We sent Max after him and he will find him and your mother won't get hurt.” I stayed silent again.

“Go change.” Luciano said gently, trying to take my hand into his but I ripped it away. I walked into the bathroom with my bag and changed my clothes, feeling myself go halfway crazy. They were not letting me call her, what if he hurt her?

Why didn't they tell me? I wiped the tears off my face. I trusted them and still they kept a secret this big from me and now he had Sarah.

‘I will ruin your life.’ He had told me when I visited him in prison and that was the last time I had gone there. I had told him about my mother remarrying and he lost his mind.

‘As you ruined mine.” He was finally keeping his promise.

I was sitting in the car, curled into a ball as Angelo drove and I was eyeing the gloves he had been wearing since yesterday. Luciano was sitting beside me and Adriano was in the front with Angelo. We were about half a day away from home and we had driven the whole day with them taking turns on drives. We were going to stop for the night again sometime soon.

I wasn't talking to them, I was mad, so mad at them and they had tried to talk to me but I didn't reply, only nodded or shook my head when necessary. We stopped in behind a large building, it was a big hotel.

“It is our hotel.” Luciano said quietly.

“We will go in from the back entrance. We had changed our routes multiple times and now our car was different as well. So there are fewer chances of us getting spotted now.” I nodded at him and we got out of the car, Angelo helping me out.

We entered the building and then the back entrance was isolated and when we were inside, no staff looked at us twice. We entered into an elevator and Adriano pushed the top floor button.

“Be ready at eight in the morning.” Angelo said and I nodded, folding my arms against my chest.

We walked out of the elevator and Luciano took a card out of his pocket and handed it to me.

“This is the master key and it gives access to every room including ours.” He pointed towards the three doors and then at another one which was across them.

“That is your room, your father won't be able to get inside this hotel. If you feel scared, you can come to any of us.” I nodded, taking the card and my bag from him. I walked into the room and closed the door behind me.

It was a large modern room with a giant king-size bed and a television. There was no phone and my anger shot up. I took my clothes off and wore another nightgown. They had played many of it, especially the questionable underwear. I laid on the bed and covered myself with the blanket, again, I couldn't sleep.
After a few hours of watching the television, the door of my room opened and Adriano entered.

“Hey, kitten.” He walked closer and got on the bed, he picked me up and sat me down between his lap.

“What are you watching?” He asked, I stayed silent and he tucked me closer to his heart.

“Talk to me, baby.” I didn't say anything.

I wanted to scream at them, demanding why they kept this from me. I wanted to demand what else they were keeping from me.

“Why?” I asked firmly.

“And be honest with me.” He sighed, wrapping his arms around me tightly. He stayed quiet for a while and then he started speaking.

“I don't know,” he turned me around, looking down at me in the golden light that was in the room. Gosh, he was magnificent.

“I don't know,” he said again and a bitter chuckle left his mouth.

“We didn't want you to worry, which sounds shitty, I know that. We didn't want to risk you leaving us.”

“You thought I would never find out?” I asked.

Secrets are not a thing you can just hide in a box and they are alive things. They escape from whatever box you put them into. His jaw clenched and he looked angry at himself.

“I am so fucking sorry, kitten. How can I make it up to you?”

“By telling me everything.”
