Chapter 109 : Sign The Treaty
Chapter 109: Sign The Treaty
Adriano
I sat down on the chair, looking at the three people in front of me. Nneka had her head down, looking exhausted. Raphael’s gaze was fixed out of the window at the sun which was rising. I know what he was looking at and Max looked pale. Luciano looked at Abel.
“Go get Sophie.” He nodded and walked out, returning minutes later with her following him, walking slowly because of her wound.
He had carved into her skin. I gripped the armrest of my chair tightly and smiled at her as she looked at me nervously, her hands gripping the edge of the sleeve of her sweatshirt. She looked pale. There was a shadow under her eyes, it looked as if she had lost all her weight in mere days.
“Come here, kitten.” I said, she walked closer and I helped her sit on my lap. She looked at her friend and then Raphael, avoiding looking at Max.
“W.. what are you doing?” She whispered to me. I ran a hand through her hair, loving the softness of it.
“These people have wronged you as much as they have wronged us if not more. I would like you to have a say in what happened to them.” She looked at Sarah.
“Sarah,” she called and Sarah looked at her. I could see the scars on her skin, scars which had not been there before. She had been tortured and from what Sophie had told us, he had been trying to keep her safe while she was with Patrick. Knowing how paranoid and psychotic Patrick can be, it made sense that he had tortured her to make sure she kept quiet.
“Sophie.” She sighed.
“You hid everything,” she shrugged.
“I had to.”
“You didn't keep him from hurting me.” Sarah's jaw clenched.
“Patrick is..was paranoid. He knew I had visited you, he kept me from coming to you.”
“Why should I believe you?” Sophie asked. She let out a humorless chuckle.
“I don't care, Sophy. Honesty, I did everything I could, there is not much you can do when you are a daughter to a control freak.” Sophie stayed quiet.
“I didn't want you hurt or dead.” She looked at me and I shrugged.
“We can let her go.”
We could easily have men after her, Luciano looked at Raphael.
“I presume you are innocent too?” He chuckled, he might be in handcuffs, surrounded by people who wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet into his skull , yet he stood like a capo.
“I am hardly innocent but I didn't have any part in all of this.”
We could kill him, I could someone push aside the picture of him as a little boy in my head, eyes filled with fear when we had taken him out of his burning house. He had held onto my arms, shaking her head furiously as tears left his eyes. He had begged us to take him with us. He was going to the Taghi capo, he was not lying. I knew a lie when I heard it.
“Sign a treaty.” Callan said.
“For peace between us three. If you break it, we will kill your sister.” He chuckled.
“Put a hand on her, I dare you.” He looked at us.
“I presume you know that men are surrounding your mansion right now? Eyes are looking into this room right through that window.” He nodded towards the window. I chuckled, shaking my head.
“We have unreachable security now that Robert is dead and all.”
“It can be breached, I assured you.” He muttered.
“People will die.” Luciano said carelessly.
“I will sign the treaty, my sister and I go free and no one gets hurt.”
“Don't come to this city unannounced.” Angelo said.
“And you have our word, you and your sister go free. We can kill you and deal with the men around us but I think we have all had our fill for blood for quite a while.” Angelo added.

Sophie POV
“It will heal in a few weeks.” Mateo said. He was a doctor the Rizzos had. He was a talk due with too much muscle, he had many scars on his tanned skin too but he had a friendly smile so he wasn't that scary.
“Don't do anything which can risk stitches.” He continued and I nodded my head.
“I have given you the painkillers you need to take. Don't eat much highly processed food, which includes ice cream.” I frowned.
“Eat simple food instead, fruits and vegetables. I have given Adriano the list.” I sighed.
“Do you have to do that?” Angelo chuckled, his eyes on the newspaper he was reading. I rolled my eyes, making sure he couldn't see it.
“This is it.” The doctor said and picked his backpack up.
“Call me if you need anything.” I nodded, thanking him and he exited the room.
I wore my sweatshirt again, covering myself. Angelo stood up and walked towards me, taking my hand in his and pressing a kiss on my palm. There were many unsaid things between us four, the Simi Gold offer, the fact that they were mafia bosses. I felt like putting a pause to those things, just needed them. Laying in the cold room for what I later found out was for eight hours, all I had been thinking about was how much I didn't do. I kissed him, a small peck to his lips, pulled back and he looked at me. I chuckled.
“What?” I muttered and he shook his head, a small smile coming on his lips. His dimples showing.
“One day you are going to drive me crazy, woman.” I pecked his lips again.
“Again,” he said and I did it again.
“Kiss me, baby. Kill me till you drive me crazy.” I kissed him.
“Yeck.” I muttered.
“Just drink it,” Luciano said.
“No,”
“Little bunny.” He warned. I sighed, standing up and setting my elbow on the railing of the larger balcony, looking at the city far away.
I felt as if I owned it all when I stood here, all I needed was a dark dress, a dagger strapped around my thigh.
“Can we go out tonight?” I asked, he stood up, standing behind me putting his hands beside mine.
“Yes, where do you want to go?”
“I don't know, anywhere. I just want to be outside in the city.”
“Okay, the whole night is yours. Just drink the soup.” I sighed, setting my head against his chest.
“Don't be mean,”
“Don't be a brat. You need to heal.” He fired back and I pecked up at him.
“I will choose your outfit for the evening.” He said.
“Is that an order?”
“Listen to the injured.” I grinned as he chuckled, shaking his head.
“Okay,” he said.
“Drink the damn soup now.”
“Feed me.” My cheeks heat up.
Why did I say that? I looked away from him instantly. He chuckled and picked me up gently and sat me down on his lap while sitting on the chair.
