127. A pure lie
Chapter 127

The impact of the push from Ethan made Cypher stagger backwards he confronted him harshly, telling his name and asking him what the fuck happened to his pack.

He was fast, so swift that one would think he was the air himself. His eyes blazed red, his jaw twitched and the canine in his teeth were ready to auction any living thing alive and he stared at Cypher and the men before him like the horror of his life.

The men were scared to their wits and Cypher wouldn't deny the aura he emanated as a whole, but he was just angry and wouldn't let it intimidate him, not when he saw a bunch of demons terrorising his life.

"Who sent you?" He asked again for the third time and Cypher wasn't ready to entertain his question, he threw a hot lashing punch to his jaw and he winced, he looked around and fear was evident in his eyes. His men were doing great in taking the fire off with water but the fire was burning rapidly , destroying a lot of things as if to fuel his anger more.
A large chunk of a dry roof fell right before them in a mighty thud and they both flinched.

" I would advise you to do your best to save your people rather than starting a fight you don't want to end," Cypher told him, his words came out as if it was forced and his muscles flexed at every touch from Ethan

"THAT DIDN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION!!"
He screamed in agony and groaned when a woman fell and had a cut at the side of her head, a sharp thorn pierced her…

"By now, you would have quenched the fire that made its way through to the little boy's home and the woman that had this wound wouldn't have had it."
Cypher made a mental note to torment him through the physical activity going on around him and he cursed, letting go of Cypher's shirt to whoosh into the winds to do the necessary.
He was worried for the people around him and it was so evident in his eyes. Cypher was tempted to help him out but that would mean going against Sebastian's orders and he couldn't risk that. No matter his harsh actions towards Ethan, he must have a Reason for doing that and he wasn't going to intrude unless they told him to.

Watching Ethan with pity, he knew he had a score to settle with Sebastiana and had a nod at the men to get moving.
Taking one last glance at Ethan, he entered the car and they all drove out.

He relaxed and focused more on the speed of the car, his heart racing with anticipation to meet his mate. His thoughts drifted back to where he asked Sebastian about the danger of being with him and his blood pumped faster than before as Sebastian's words re-echoed in his ears.

The necklace was the only thing to protect her against his powers, protect her from any harm irrespective of how close they were going to be. His anxiety got the better part of him as he winced at the possibility of not having any necklace, or what if it never existed?

He was glad and satisfied at how things were working in his favour, his mother, Sebastian, and his pack as a whole were a blessing to him despite the bunch of idiots who acted as hypocrites to seek his downfall.

Retrieving his phone from his pocket, he sent a message to Sebastian and told him about the situation before tucking it back. They would soon be in Star Crescent and the urge to lie on a soft bed to cuddle his mate was greater than the air he inhaled into his lungs. Sudden fatigue overwhelmed him, filling him with thoughts of adeserving rest after such a bloody war and dealing with the scumbags who were now slaves one after the other.

As if his wish was being heard, the car entered the royal mansion and he came down immediately the car came to a halt.
Everyone froze instantly at his presence and sudden fear overwhelmed them. It was actually what they were beginning to get accustomed to since his identity was revealed at the war but Cypher paid little or no attention to their reactions at the moment. He went to his room and the familiar scent of Jasmine oil and Rose petals hit his mosey, filling him with more and more scent he couldn't describe but his mate wasn't present.

"Where is she? Isn't she back with the guards?" His deep voice caused the men to shudder and they shook their heads.

"Not at all, she came back but she was in her room with the Alpha's wife. Alpha Sebastian." His face fell in disappointment, not able to hide the selfishness displayed before him, he sighed into his palms.

'Why should Sebastian let his wife come to my pack today of all days? I need Kaylan but keeping Heaven alone is something I can't do!' He lamented bitterly and turned back to his room but his wolf insisted, he just wanted to take a glimpse at her, to be sure he was okay and nothing was wrong with Heaven too.

Using that as an excuse, he returned to his tracks and led his way to her room.
They were discussing and Heaven was in tears, he was expecting that but he didn't know why he felt something twisting at the side of his ribs, painful and hard.

He shook the feeling away and touch led the door knob to open it when she heard Heaven's voice again, this time with curiosity enough to burn his ears which itched to know .

"Where's your necklace, Kaylan?" She asked softly and Kaylan swallowed, horror contorting her face as she faked a gasp and touched her neck.

"Really…umm…I don't know. I think it fell into the ditch while I was looking for someone." She stuttered, her lies so evident in her face. She knew who Heaven was, a Moon Queen who could read through her minds and she began to say internal prayers for her not to know that what she just uttered was a pure lie.

"No need to pray to the moon goddess Kaylan." Heaven's soft voice made her face drained to white.
"You gave your necklace to someone and you don't want anyone to know about it."

She uttered and Cypher's hands shook at the door knob.
