Chapter 122
Back at Crescent Star Pack, Zane arrived in exhaustion and regrets. He had gone throughout the outskirts and borders of the pack to look for Cypher only to hear rumours about his destroying the Dalim
Pack. The most ruthless pack of the demon to exist which got him so confused.
How on earth did he do that when he had just finished fighting such a brutal war?
"Where's he right now?" He asked one of the guards, walking briskly towards the direction of his room.
"He left for Moon Pack."
Why the fuck again??
He gritted his teeth in disappointment and hated the fact that he was slowly becoming a stranger in Cypher's life.
'Or did he think I was serious about neglecting my duties?'
"I think something serious came up, Luna forced herself to go but she couldn't."
Definitely, something wasn't right but he wasn't aware at the moment.
"Where's She?" He asked the loyal guard who understands every nook and gave him a vast reply.
"I think she went on a search, though she's supposed to be resting after being almost killed by the Dalim members with her red-haired friend but she still stubbornly went ahead.
"Red-haired friend?" Realisation of the word sunk into his skull like hot stones of flame and he felt hot and uncomfortable.
"What the fuck happened?" He growled and went towards the direction of Kaylan's room only for the guard or to direct him to Cypher's guest room.
Shock and confusion were evident on his face and he had never felt so stupid in his entire lifetime.
"They were both kidnapped by the Dalim members but the Alpha saved and took them both."
Zane didn't say a word, but stomped his feet to the entrance of the room and barged the door.
There she was, lying down with her eyes shut and her red hair sprawled on the pillow which made him clench his jaw hard.
Why was so stubborn by leaving her Village only to get entangled in his Pack's mess?
His thoughts had been jumbled and all she hoped was for her to be fine.
As much as he felt like running his finger through her smooth silky hair, he refrained and just watched her quietly observing her chest rising in a rhythm and her perfect lips shut peacefully.
Just when he thought he should reach out to Cypher through his mobile phone, she stirred and whipped her head uncomfortably, before letting out a sneeze.
"Shit! Are you okay?" He asked so calmly and tried to coerce her to sleep back but she sat up immediately, surprising Zane.
His eyes widened at her sudden movement when she stood up nervously and looked for her sandals which were suddenly nowhere to be found.
"Can you Relax Liya?" He asked and held her arms but she withdrew them immediately, hiding her glassy eyes that were already filled with tears.
"I need to go, Zane, I'm sorry." She said and tried to walk past him but he gripped her arms tightly but softly.
"No, you're hurt. What are you In so much hurry?"
"My parents, My Village!" She gasped as she stared out the window. "If I don't get there on time, I'll be locked outside and my parents will be angry about it.
We can only have access to the border from the first early rise of the sun and it closes at the first dip of the sun in the evening!"
She explained and pushed past him, feeling so scared.
"Liya?" A frustrated growl sounded from his lips and he hated how that sounded. He didn't like the fact she was suddenly leaving, feeling scared and uncomfortable.
"I'll see you again Zane, I'm glad you're okay but I can't stay out longer than this." She told him and he nodded, biting his lips and pushing his hands in his pocket as he watched her.
Not a word was said or heard from him aside from the worry that clouded his thoughts.
He watched her leave, slammed the door behind her and released a sigh. It's bad that he's nervous around her and denies the attraction he has each time he sees her.
Zane knew he had to focus and fight away the silly feeling when he stepped out and a guard arrived with a letter.
"It's from the Clan Heads an Elders Beta, I don't know what it says but I think it's important." The guard bowed and gave it to him while Zane tore the foil of the envelope, curiosity overwhelmed him like a moth and he read the content that made his blood boil in contempt. He tore the whole contents in anger and hissed hotly.
"Tell them to keep playing with their lives around Cypher with this same situation and proposal."
These elders are just not getting it at all until they have a taste of Cypher for once before they understand.
Zane hissed angrily and walked back to Cypher's room to take his sword when he felt her presence again.
This time around, she looked as if she was scared or something or someone that made him restless as she shut the door behind her.
"Liya…I thought you should be on your track now to White Falls?"
Her lips quivered in fear and her eyes burned in unshed tears and she stared at him with a look of uncertainty, hoping she wasn't asking for too much.
It was already bad that she was here, implicating herself and him but her selfish instincts wouldn't just let her be. She couldn't believe she had forgotten her main purpose for coming to this pack which was Viola.
Like a magnet and robot, she was stuck and controlled to no end.
"Fucking speak to me Liya!" He growled and came closer. His eyes were laced with concern and worry that warmed her heart.
"I don't think they will let me pass the gate, I was almost taken to who knows where the nut for Kaylan? C..can you walk me out, please?" She tried to ask calmly but her voice cracked terribly which made her bit lip nervously.
