Chapter 18

**Zander**

I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. She was hanging out with fucking Nev? He was such a loser. Was she attracted to a fucking loser? Of course, she was. She never had good taste in men. I could still remember when she went after Rex. She didn’t know what he was really thinking. He was thinking just of what he could do with her. He didn’t know that he was touching what belongs to me. I made sure he found out really fast who she belongs to. Winter Story belongs to me and my friends. Most of all, me.

I watched her as she excused herself from the table. She was pretending to head to the bathroom, but as soon as he wasn’t looking. She made a beeline for me. She walked straight up to me and pulled me to the side. I wasn’t expecting her to come up and talk to me, but I did enjoy the fire behind her eyes.

“What the hell are you doing here? I thought you would be working out.” She hissed at me.

“I am getting something to drink. I didn’t know that was illegal,” I said putting my hands in the air.

“You don’t drink coffee,” she said crossing her arms. Was she accusing me of stalking her? I really wasn’t. I was actually getting a drink. I don’t think this girl wants to see me stalk her. It would be a lot worse than this.

“Of course not, it's nasty. And all those stupid lattes and mochas whatever. Nah, I came here for an energy drink,” I said showing her the can that was in my hand. “I needed something to keep me alert.”

She shook her head. “Those things are so bad for you. Do you know how much caffeine and sugar are in those?”

I shrugged. “There are a lot of things in this life that will kill me. You would be one of them, sissy.” I raised an eyebrow at her to see what her reaction would be. She simply shook her head.

“What are you doing over there anyway?” I asked using my head to point toward Nev. “I didn’t think you were interested in loser anymore.”

She crossed her arms. “He isn’t a loser. He is a very sweet guy. You could learn a thing or two from him.”

“Pass,” I said rolling my eyes. “He got a free ticket into this school because his mom is a professor. Everyone knows he doesn’t give two shits about actually being here. He is a loser he has no future.”

“How do you know all that?”

“I know everything and I know he isn’t good for you. So stay away from him.”

“Or what?” She challenged me. She challenged me. Oh, this girl was in for it and I was going to love every minute of giving it to her.

“You don’t want to see what will happen if I find you still hanging out with him. Did you forget what happened to dear old Rex?”

Her eyes widened at the mention of the name. I knew she would remember what happened to him. She can’t forget. She shook her head.

“That isn’t fair.” She said like a two-year-old who just didn’t get her way.

“Life isn’t fair, sissy. We just have to roll with the punches.”

She was pissed. It was almost like I could feel the steam coming out of her ears as we spoke. She didn’t like me throwing things in her face like that, but what was she going to do about it? I ran this place. She was under my rule.

I took a drink of my energy drink. I raised an eyebrow at her. “Do you got anything else to say?”

She shook her head. “I guess we will see about this.” She said as she walked back to her table with Nev. She didn’t grab her things and leave like I had hoped she would. Nope, she sat right back down with a smile on her face. Our conversation had never happened now to her. She was going to pretend that it didn’t.

I could feel the jealousy start to go through me. What did he have that I didn’t besides being nice to her? I could do that, but she didn’t deserve it. She also didn’t want to be nice. She was going to get bored of him. She just thought she wanted some nice guy, but lets face it. She wants some excitement too.

I wasn’t going to wait around for her to get bored. Nah, I was going to destroy this relationship before it even had a chance to breathe. It wasn’t going to have a chance. I just needed to make sure that he knew that when he was messing with Winter, he was messing with four people he didn’t want to mess with.

I walked out of the cafe and started to head back to the gym. I would let them have it today. Let them drink their nasty coffee and bagels. It would be all they will have to remember each other by.

I headed into the gym locker room where I went to my locker. I noticed something was wrong with it. I hadn’t stopped before I left the gym since I knew I didn’t need my wallet. The girls at the cafe knew who I was. It was the perks that came with being a star quarterback. Everyone knew who I was. Everyone had seen most of my games since I was in High School even the ones that didn’t know I was a legend around here. Just like my Uncle was. My father was one but for a different sport. Everyone knew who Abbott was.

Something was different though about my locker. I could see the lock was broken. Who was that fucking stupid to mess with my shit? I didn’t think anyone would be so stupid. All I knew I was going to get to the bottom of this. And that person was going to pay the price.
