Chapter 23:
**Amanda Hank:**
The day begins without much to say.
I go to university as usual and when I leave I go directly to the company.
I start my work day and do everything as always, perfectly.
At that, John summoned me to his office and I smiled.
"What do you want, sir?" I asked him after entering his office.
God, how beautiful he looks in that suit.
Navy blue looks so good on you.
I surreptitiously bite my lip and smile at him.
*Damn, John Smith is the man of my wet dreams.*
"Amanda, I need you to join me in a meeting. It's important, you understand?" He informs and I nod.
We both left the company and got into his car. As I know, we will go to the place where his partner mentioned him, a very cheap restaurant for a business meeting.
He explained to me who the board would be that wants me as a witness and made notes about everything that will be said in the meeting, since he knows the postgraduate degree I did on being a notary.
It's nice that he blindly trusts me and my abilities to be a good employee.
Regarding what happened yesterday, he doesn't say anything about it and pretends that we are fine.
Something tells me that after I let him touch me and accept his apology.
My ass will be red as hell.
Well, I think I deserve it for being very cheeky.
We arrive at the restaurant where John's partner is waiting for us.
According to what is known, he was close to his father and that after a problem, John was not specific about that, he abandoned Mr. Smith for a long time.
But I am surprised to see a man much younger than the man I imagined given the characteristics that John gave me.
Apparently, I'm not the only one surprised.
"Are you appearing on behalf of Mr. Miller?" John asks cordially.
The man, who I estimate is almost the same age as John, nods and stands up to shake hands with my boss's.
"My pleasure, Smith." He says and invites us to sit down. "I'm Alan Miller, Marcus Miller's son."
John nods, it seems that he understands something that I don't see myself capable of. I'm definitely missing something.
I think it has to do with Mr. Marcus.
"My pleasure, may I know why Mr. Miller is not here?" John asks.
"Is dead." The blonde man in front of me says bluntly.
Yes, businessmen don't have a heart...
"My condolences, Miller," John says.
Mr. Miller just shrugs. That gives me a bad feeling. How can you be so insensitive?
"What difference does it make? After all, it was his turn." He says, downplaying the importance of his father's death, "I know he deserved it. He made us lose a lot of money and opportunities to grow." He explains, "That's why I decided to come talk to you."
John nods and business begins.
I concentrate on writing down everything they say, the Miller offers and all the benefits this union could create.
John doesn't seem so convinced but he does nothing more than say that he will think about it with his investors.
Dinner passed without much fuss and I wanted to go to the bathroom.
I relieve myself and leave the sanatoriums, when I see Mr. Miller in the hallway.
Seeing me come out of the bathroom, he smiles before coming a little closer to me. And that gives me serious chills.
"Hello, beautiful, I would like to talk to you..." he says and I feel nauseous why he would call me that way. Only John can call me that way "Are you free tonight? I want to go out, I like you and I think we could have a nice evening."
I can't explain the nausea these types of men make me feel.
He doesn't even care if I'm comfortable, he just thinks he's my master and decides without letting me have a say.
But he is not my master.
And I'm not going to stay silent.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Miller. I'm on work time and have better things to do tonight." I say before smiling at him like the goddess I am.
I try to walk to our tables, where John is waiting for me but a hand on my shoulder stops me.
Miller corners me against the wall and I gasp in surprise.
*What the hell is wrong with this moron?*
"Let me go..." I ask, trying not to lose my sanity and not scream.
He smiles and leans closer to my ear.
"Come on, baby, let's go out. We'll both have a good time, okay?" He whispers and then places a kiss on my cheek. "Trust me, I can fuck you better than John does."
"How dare you insinuate that about me, poor thing? I'm working... Let me go, I don't want anything from you"
He snorts but his kisses on my cheek move down to my neck.
By force, I tried to let go but I couldn't. He is bigger and stronger than me. It's useless.
"Don't be, I'm sure you're like everyone else... You want to sleep with your boss like the bitch you are, but you act dignified when someone better wants you to suck their penis like the bitch you are. You're not special... So typical of the ridiculous assistants." He says and I want to disappear from the world. "But, darling, if I want something, I get it no matter what the cost. Give me what I want and everyone will be happy."
From one second to the next, his disgusting mouth kisses me and I just want to vomit in his damn face.
I'm tired of trying to be reasonable and fall for the only option I have left to get rid of this idiot.
I didn't want to come to that, I thought he would have a little more respect and take no for an answer, but I see I had too much faith in this asshole.
My knee hits his crotch and he falls to the ground.
"Damn bitch, how dare you…?" He complains while massaging his crotch.
A clearing of the throat makes me look at John.
I don't know how long he's been watching us, but something tells me he's been there since Miller kissed me without my consent.
Smith approaches me and smiles slightly, as if checking to see if I'm okay.
I'm a little shaken and shaking but I smile at him so he doesn't worry.
He then takes it upon himself to punch Miller, who is still on the ground, which leaves him more sore than before.
"If I see you again, I'll kill you." He warns and Miller nods, still in pain. "Miller and Smith will never make a new union, idiot."
We both left the restaurant and got into his car.
"I'm sorry, babe. I had to take a call and I didn't see when Miller came for you. It's my fault." He apologizes and my heart sinks.
I shake my head and relax against my seat as I feel safer with him. How can you blame yourself for not predicting that Miller was a jerk?
"It's not your fault. We didn't see it coming. The important thing is that we already know not to trust him anymore and we forget what happened, okay, sir?" I explain.
"No, I should have known... The Millers have a reputation for being wild and primitive with all women." He explains before starting the car "That's why our fathers stopped being allies... He did something unforgivable to my mother..."
I do not say anything. I don't know what to say.
I don't want to delve into that topic, it affects John too much. He barely mentions it and his body speaks for him.
I can tell when your hands tighten on the steering wheel while driving.
"Likewise, let's forget all this. Is it possible, sir?"
He nods and we don't talk anymore.
We arrive at the company and I return to my desk.
I receive a call from reception and informs me that a certain Mrs. Esmeralda is looking for John. She says it's urgent and of utmost importance to John.
I know I tell John and he says he wasn't expecting her but it might happen since he's free before his last meeting.
I see Mrs. Esmeralda get off the elevator minutes later.
She is thin, has black hair and blue eyes, well-groomed skin, dresses very elegantly and looks very young.
She sees me and smiles at me.
"Hello, I'm Esmeralda Thomson. I don't have an appointment, but I was told I can talk to John, is that correct?" She asks with a voice so sensual that it's hard for me not to shiver.
"Sure, you can come in. Mr. Smith is waiting for you." I inform her and she nods.
"Thank you so much, darling." She says "By the way, I love your shirt, it matches the green of your eyes."
I smiled at her and thanked her for the compliment.
She heads to John's office and I feel like something bad is going to happen.
