Chapter 15 - Found Her Rhythm

Serena gasped at Vernon's sudden action. He probably didn't mind, but it was funny to her that she was surprised by her own expectations—too fast, yet it satisfied her.

The kiss was not just a gesture, but a promise. A promise that they would always be together, even without a clear status, at least for now.

And yes, Vernon had replaced their pinky promise with that meaningful kiss.

"Yes, that's enough," Serena said later, she was feeling nervous.

Vernon smiled. His fingers were still rubbing Serena's thin cheeks and that made her look even more beautiful.

"I promise to kiss you at every opportunity, Serena. Now, I have to go home."

Vernon then returned home, leaving Serena with mixed feelings of happiness and hope.

When she stepped into her apartment, a small smile was etched on her face. She knew that tomorrow would be a new beginning for both of them.

The next day, Serena arrived at her office in high spirits. Today, she and Vernon would be working together as models for a sexy wedding dress commercial. Her mind was still filled with last night's kiss, and it gave her an extra boost to look her best for the day.

"He's like my spirit vitamin," she said to herself.

Vernon was already at the office where Serena worked as a model. He wore a suit that looked neat and authoritative, befitting his role as CEO. Even so, his eyes radiated a warmth that only Serena could feel.

"Ready for today?" asked Vernon with a comforting smile.

"More than ready," Serena replied, her eyes excitedly shining.

The photo shoot began smoothly. Serena wore a sheer, seductive wedding dress, revealing her curves perfectly. She struck all her best poses, deliberately provoking Vernon's lust even as they were being photographed.

The look in her eyes, and the way she moved, were all designed to tease Vernon. She wanted to see how Vernon reacted, and she enjoyed every second of it.

Vernon, on the other hand, remained calm and professional. As a CEO, he was trained to deal with various situations and people. Even so, it was undeniable that he felt the temptation from Serena. But he managed to control himself well, ensuring that their chemistry remained without disrupting the shoot.

And on the other hand, Vernon used every moment to touch Serena's body. Her body was so smooth and soft, it even reminded him of his one-night stand two months ago with her.

The producer seemed very satisfied with their work. He praised the natural chemistry between Serena and Vernon. Before, Serena always failed to get the right chemistry with their chosen male models, even making some models resign because they felt Serena was never friendly to them. But today was different. With Vernon, Serena found her rhythm.

"Great job," said the producer, patting Serena proudly on the shoulder. "You really are the perfect pair for this commercial. I'm sure our product will sell like crazy with models this perfect."

"You're overreacting, David," Serena said, humbled.

"Don't act like I don't know your mind, Serena. I'm a producer and I can read the look in your eyes on him."

Serena blushed but she tried not to care and changed her clothes into hers.

"Let's have lunch together," asked Vernon after the shoot.

“I won't reject, so, let's go.”

They went out together and Vernon chose a restaurant that had a good menu and a table that looked comfortable for both of them and of course, it was for a private person as a celebrity. Then Vernon looked at Serena with a meaningful smile.

"What?" asked Serena, surprised.

"That pose was very dangerous, you know," Vernon said with a raised eyebrow.

Serena smiled mischievously. “Really? How dangerous was it?" she asked, feigning innocence.

"You know what I mean," Vernon replied, his eyes shining. "You tease on purpose, and you do it very well."

Serena chuckled, pleased to see Vernon react like that. "Maybe I just wanted to see how far you could control yourself," she said teasingly.

Vernon shook his head with a smile. "You really are the teasing type, huh?" he said, reaching out and gently touching Serena's cheek. "But, I hope you're only flirting with me, not other men."

Serena felt the warmth from Vernon's touch, and she looked at him with loving eyes. "You know I can only tease you," she whispered.

Vernon laughed softly and kissed Serena gently on the cheek. "I'm glad to hear it," he said. "But don't do it too often, or I might lose control."

“Hmm, can't promise it,” she laughed happily.

They continued their lunch with small talk and laughter. There was a warmth and closeness that felt so natural between them. Vernon began to understand Serena's character more deeply, and Serena felt a comfort she had never felt before.

After lunch, they took a short walk around the restaurant. Vernon held Serena's hand, and she felt as if nothing could separate them. In the midst of the bustling city, they found their own happiness.

"Thank you for today," Serena said when they had to part. "I really enjoyed my time with you."

"Me too," Vernon replied. "And I can't wait for the next few days together."

Serena smiled, feeling her heart fill with love and hope. Even without a clear status, she knew that their time together was something real and precious.

That night, when Serena returned to her apartment, she lay on her bed with her mind filled with Vernon. She thought of the kiss last night, the seductive poses at the photo shoot, and the kiss on the cheek at lunch. They made her feel that she had found someone who could understand and accept her completely. Found the cure for her heartache.

Before going to bed, she took out her cell phone and sent Vernon a text message. "Thank you for today. I can't wait to see you again."

Vernon's reply came not long after. “As you wish, Serena. Even from the text, I can feel you tease me. But anyway, good night and sweet dreams."

With a smile on her face, Serena closed her eyes, letting her dreams be filled by Vernon's image. She knew that their journey had just begun, and she couldn't wait to see where fate would take them.
