There was only a week left before we leave to confront the lake guardian unlike the last time that we ran with our tails between our legs. I tried to make more potions and to make them fast, I don't think a week is enough for me to succeed in any of my plans. Still I won't just sit, I'm not going to give up without trying.
Vale was also able to make a deal with that Lark guy, some of the werewolves from the Crimson pack will arrive on the day we face the lake guardian. I really see his desperate effort but I really don't see how working with a pack that doesn't really want to help you is a great idea. Yes I know at first I thought it was a good idea but they might abandon us or not fight wholeheartedly. They'll half-ss everything and let's not talk about my magic being exposed to more people. I just feel like the other packs aren't necessary, they'll just get in the way.
"okay I need you to give me some space, I honestly don't know why you had to come because this isn't too far away from the pack and the vampires don't know I left the back thanks to you handling Arina"
"we can't be sure that they don't know and even if we did know, your safety is my priority" I sighed no longer surprised by the answer, I have finally accepted that I am very important to Vale. We were surrounded by towering trees and thick greenery, no this wasn't the forest surrounding the silver pack. This was another forest that although cannot compare to the enchanted forest felt nice to explore. I'm aware that I won't find any magical ingredients, I'm here because it's away from people and I can hopefully discover more about my magic.
" so what exactly do you plan to do here? Or maybe there's something I'm missing?" Vale asked and I get why he's confused, to him this looks like an ordinary forest and it is. " no there's nothing you're missing. This is an ordinary forest and I really can't tell you what I plan to do because I have no idea " I looked at him waiting for the disappointment to show but nothing came or maybe he hid it, still it doesn't matter. He transformed into a werewolf and ran further in the forest. I know that in his werewolf form he is fast and his senses are far better than in his human form. If anything happens he'll be able to run back here in no time.
I looked at my hideous bracelet, the forest definitely did something to it and that somehow made it save my life when that vampire knight was about to kill me. That wasn't all, I spoke with that person talking non stop about fate.
I sat on the ground in a cross-legged meditative pose and took deep breaths. The enchanted forest is home to witches and all their knowledge of potions, magic and much much more must come from the enchanted forest. The enchanted forest has spoken to me many times, not using words of course. The gestures of healing me and sometimes showing me the way to ingredients that'd fail to find is proof that it understood my thoughts or feelings or maybe my intent? I just have to reach out to my bracelet and see what happens.
I closed my eyes and took very deep breaths and tried to focus. I must make sure that the message I try to push out is accurate and understandable which is hard because it's not verbal communication.
I thought back to the first time I was riding on Zik when I saw the farm that looked so dead and dry as if life was sucked out of it. The trees looked as though a single touch would make them wither to dust. The poor innocent animals lay dead on the cracked ground probably died because of starvation as the land that fed them was now dead, the field of corn that should've looked like a green ocean was brown and grey in color. I remembered the majestic horse laying dead, I remembered that as we continued that we saw how life was sucked out of nature. The monsters even in death were killing our world with just their presence, the horror of the dead town was very vivid in my head. Then the process of corrupting such a strong companion of nature made me feel helpless.
I conveyed as hard as I can that healing potions, anti-poison potions and other potions weren't healing the earth. The forests, the lakes and all of nature that has been victimized by the poison. I need something, anything that'll help.
My mind began to play the werewolves determination to live, to fight and defend their home. Their helplessness evident yet it never rendered them powerless, they never lost courage and hope. Yet the trust is all of that isn't enough, soon they'll fall unless a solution or shield helps them do please help me help them.
I didn't stop there, I conveyed my need for guidance. My understanding of my magic is too shallow, I don't even know what I am and what of my purpose...
While I was busy doing all of that conveying I was unaware of the green glow that has covered my entire body. Beautiful plans and flowers started to grown on the ground near me, they certainly didn't look ordinary. The most shocking thing that was happening was that from the hideous bracelet a green book was forming and its contents were being written by an invisible hand. The more I conveyed the more writings, drawings, symbols and circles appeared.
Cold silver eyes that shone with focus were watching all of this from a far not daring to come closer to disturb what looked like an important magical process. Still there was worry and determination, no doubt that if anything was to happen to the girl there's no hesitation to sto p whatever is happening.
