Chapter 27
Third person narrative.
“Are you out of your mind?” She breathed heavily with rage. “I gave you one job. One fucking job and you ruined it!”
“Gratchen you have to understand!” One of the women that were clothed in black said. She was terrified out of her wits.
She refused to listen. They had gone too far. The plan was simple. Get Eloise, and distract the mum. But somehow along the way they used a feral spell instead of a distraction spell and caused a mess.
“You best pray the night sisters have not gotten to her and started teaching her to harness her powers, because then, I would make you regret.” She threatened.
One of them, standing behind the first spellers rolled her eyes.. she didn’t care about Gratchen. She didn’t even phase her. Infact, she was planning her own attack. It was going to be big and she was going to rule the coven.
But for now, she had to obey, blend in. Let no one suspect.
“Get the body of the husband”
“its on the Alpha's land we can’t go near it” one of them said, trembling. It was no secret that Eric despised witches, him more than others. And he would die before saw a witch freely walk his lands. He would rather have died he let that happen.
“ You get it back. You either get it or die trying” she said stomping out of the room.
The girl behind the front witches snorted. Such a self absorbed prick' she thought to herself.
Few more days' she thought to herself. ‘my magic would be at it’s fullest and then no one would be able to tell me otherwise.
This coven would be mine.
….
While at the castle, Eloise was trying to live a normal life. He was trying her best to not let how Eric treated her got to her. The more she tried to “give it a chance” like Ian had said. But it was hopeless. He didn’t see me for me.
She sat still at dinner as the chatter passed over her head. No one involved her, and she actually didn’t mind for the first time in a while.
This dinner was a special one. It was a way for Eric to show his mate. Eloise didn’t understand the big deal about the dinner, but she decided to play Along, just for his sake.
Without her consent, her hands started to shake, her visions started going blank.
“Fuck! Please not now” she muttered under her breath. But it was of no use. There was nothing she could do to stop it.
….
Slowly, everything became normal again, but everyone on the table was looking at her weirdly. That was until the eldest on the table snapped.
“Eric, are you trying to get us killed?” he said In a low voice. It was obvious that he was livid, but she didn’t understand why.
“What do you mean?” Eric looked ignorant.
“You brought a Seer? I bro our home?!!is this some kind of joke to you?” growing up, Eloise never got to experience people hate her because of how different she was. She only had her mum tell her of how different she was and how people didn’t like it. So it was kind of overwhelming for her.
“ and what exactly is wrong with that? Being a seer?” for some reason, Eloise was not expecting Anna to speak up. Not that they were fighting or anything, but since after the incident, she just didn’t talk to the other as much and she thought she had started to see me as a freak and decided it was best to keep her distance.
“Babe” Ian said holding her back subtly, but Eloise noticed it.
“you dare not bring this abomination into the palace again” the older man said, standing up and leaving the table, with the others following him. “you better take care of this abomination before we come next time” Eloise noticed how Eric didn’t say anything to defend her through out the encounter.
Disappointed, she stood up from the table and made her way towards her room. “Eliose” Eric stopped her in her track. She didn’t turn to face him, scared that he might see the tears That threatened to fall.
“why did you do it?” 'did he sound angry?’ she thought to herself.
“You knew this dinner is important to me”
“Maybe ask if it’s something I can control before you start pointing fingers.” Ian took Anna’s hand, and walked out of the room giving the two a much needed space to talk, in private
“Bullshit!” he said, slamming his fist in the table.
She wasn’t phased. She was more concerned about her visions she just had. She saw some faces that she recognized. They were witches. They might have something to do with her mum. She needed to be prepared. She didn’t have time for this petty talk.
“if you are done with your tantrums, I would like to have my leave now.” She took a step forward and some plates came flying her way. Luckily, none touched her.
“You dared throw them at me?” the bubling rage she had tried so much to quill all these time came to the surface.
“I said not another step.” He growled.
She turned back towards the door, and took a step then turned back to face him as if to ask ' what do you want to do' he growled out in disapproval.
“I am warning you Eloise…” it was a warning, loud and clear one.
Something about the way he woke to her didn’t sit right with her.
“J am your mate not a maid. You will address me as one” she said in a low tune.
And to walk out.
“Solaria I am talking to you!!” he growled.
The plates didn’t hurt when he threw it. The very idea of him trying to hurt her didn’t hurt as much. But the fact that he had indeed called her by his ex mate’s name, confirming her suspicion, it said a lot. She walked out of he room, not even looking back for one moment, not with him yelling at her, not with her heart crying at her to go back and tell at him to her heart’s content.
Nothing could hide the pain she felt of just being a replacement to him.
She cried.
“ I love you baby girl. I would always be there for you” a memory of her daddy saying it flashed through her mind. He had lied. He didn’t stay and be there forever like he had promised.
“you mean the world to me” Greg had said one time. It was also a lie. He was the worse. It physically hurt to even have memories of him
“I love you” Eric had said. Only he didn’t see me when he said it. He only saw his ex mate.
She cried to she felt her throat go soar. That was until the vision she had earlier came back again.
Her body trembled. The visions became more and more violent to handle.
“Maya! Melissa? What’s happening?” I cried out…. Some how, the names flew out of my mouth without my knowledge, then, everything went blank.
