Melissa's POV
The world fell into a depressing silence, I stared at this strange woman before me. With pain around as I felt my breath gradually leaving my body, the words of this woman kept ringing like a bell.
"My mother?" I muttered hard with her hand still around my neck.
"Yes! Your mother. You two have cost me so much pain for a long time,a long long time Alissia"
At this point, I could feel my heart beat slowly dying down.
"Let me go! I don't know what you are talking about. I struggled to get myself free but the woman was far stronger than I imagined. The more I struggled, the harder her grip was and I was slowly falling into unconsciousness.
"Please, let me go" I muttered very faintly with almost closed eyes.
No way!
I can't die like this!
I can't die this way
I just can't!
Melissa,you don't know who this woman is. You are not even Alissia bur Melissa.
What if she had the wrong person, will you let yourself die just because of a misled identity.
What if you are truly Alissia like they claim.
This Alissia must be a very strong personality if they have been unable to kill her all these years.
You must fight for yourself!
You can't let yourself go like this.
No one is here to save you.
Nelson isn't here to rescue you,now you must help yourself and don't give yourself away to be killed.
These erhoufhts ran through my head like wide fire.
I began to struggle harder than I could, my eyes still shut as I inhaled deeply trying to keep myself alive.
"I can see that you are braver than I expected," the woman said.
At that moment, I felt a hot heat begin to rise inside of me, the hotness grew so much that I felt my body begin to tremble .
My eyes flung wide open and the woman gasped in shock, her gaze not leaving me.
"No! No way! This can't be happening" she muttered and immediately vanished out of my sight.
I inhaled deeply as my body shook, the images before me began to blur out and at once, I heard the sound of an open door but before I could avert my gaze at it, I fell off my seat and fell heavily to the ground,darkness subduing me at once.
"Melissa"
"Melissa" I heard voices surrounding me. My head banged so hard and I couldn't tell where I was at the moment. I tried to breathe in but I could feel liquid going deep into my nostrils.
I tried to open my eyes but couldn't, I felt like I was floating on a surface, great tension filled my bones at once.
"Melissa" a soft voice called into me. This time, I felt a touch, tender and filled with so much care. To my surprise, I found myself slowly opening my eyes and to my surprise, I found myself floating on a river as a face stared right at me.
At first, it was so hard for me to see the person's face due to the ray of sunlight that flashed on me. Slowly, I watched the person move towards me, this time, I could quickly recognize her.
"Alissia" she muttered, her voice filled with so much love that I felt my heartbeat in a certain kind of way, in a way I have never felt in a long while.
I stared at her dumbfounded, I couldn't utter any word, nothing but disbelief shone right at me.
"You don't have to look so surprised Alissia, I am not here to harm you, you should know this by now" she muttered with a smile.
At that point, I quickly recognized her as the lady I met deep in the cave in one of my dreams. In that dream, the lady had radiant lights emitting from her that almost blinded me.
"You again" I mumbled so faintly that I wondered if she heard me.
Her lips stretched longer in a very welcoming smile, "Yes, me again" she acknowledged, her eyes glittered as she stared at me.
For a while, I was so confused.
"Am I dreaming?" I asked, still gazing at her.
"Yes you are," she nodded.
I felt a chill rush through my body, "But why dreams? Do you mean that my attack was also a dream?" I raised a brow while she nodded in affirmation.
"It's a dream Alissia, but not just any kind of dream but a physical act in the gods realm and victoriously, you won" she smiled so kindly that I couldn't help but think what exactly she wants from me.
"No, I lost. I died, I fell into deep darkness and here I am again, dreaming in the dream world. What else can be more fatal than this?" I asked, deep pain filled my heart.
Slowly, she touched my arm, her touch was very comforting and I felt a warm feeling traveling through me.
"You don't have to be so difficult on yourself Alissia. You didn't lose but your opponent did, you were able to stop her before she took your life. You indeed showed her who the boss is and kept her back in her place"
Confused, I furred my brows, staring at her.
"I don't understand what you mean neither do I have any reason why that woman wanted to kill me. Not just her but the other men who promised to come for me. I keep on having so many frustrating dreams and attacks but surprisingly survive it. The whole thing doesn't make any sense to me and it feels like I am already losing my mind…" I paused, staring deeply into her eyes, "And now, I don't even know who you really are nor do I have any idea why you and the rest keep calling me Alissia and not Melissa" I muttered watching her really closely.
Her smile radiated, she stroked my arm lovingly, her beauty shone even clearer making it impossible for me to let my gaze off her.
"I can understand how you feel. It's very normal to feel this way. Confused and without any valid answers but fortunately, you will get your answers soon"
"My answers?" I implored watching her closely, "Why don't you give them to me? You just called me Alissia…" I paused, scanning around, "Here I am in a place I don't know, floating at the surface of a river without sinking to the bottom. I can feel a force preventing me from sinking and with the turn of events happening in my mind, I might lose my insanity before I realize it" I affirmed not hiding the fear that was about to shred me into tiny pieces.
"Alissia"
"Alissia"
She called my name twice, so soft and filled with compassion.
"You need answers, I can't give them to you now"
Frustrated, a frown appeared on my face, "But why? Why can't you give me the answers I seek when to clearly know them"
She shook her head gently, "You are right, I do have the ability to give you the answers your heart yearns for but I am not the one to bell the cat right now."
I lost it, my heart shattered into pieces, "But who if not you. You seem like a kind person unlike the others who are so bent on taking my life"
She smiled.
"You know the person already Alissia, you are familiar with the person who holds the answers you seek"
At first, I couldn't think straight.
Who is she talking about?
Of course I don't know anyone
Is it Nelson?
Or Conri?
Or maybe Anabelle?
Of course, I doubt if they have any knowledge why all of these are befalling me.
"I am sorry but I don't have any idea who this person might be. Who is this person, do let me know, I beg you" I said with so much emotion stuck to my voice.
The lady came closer to me, "Your father" she blurted out sternly.
I froze in shock, my eyes enlarged at her blunt.
"My father?" I inquired.
She nodded, "Yes, your father Melissa. Your father has the answer to every question buried in your heart. Go to him and get the answers that you seek"
My body trembled and I could feel my legs wobble at this.
