Melissa's POV
Angered,I couldn't believe Nelson's words, although I didn't want to appear too surprised realizing how much of a character he is, a proud Alpha who thinks he can have everything to himself and still earn for more.
Tinox sighed loudly, with his eyes fixed on me, he gently glanced at Nelson who didn't say a word but looked way pissed too. The hall was as quiet as ever and none of us uttered any word, our eyes performing the whole ordeal.
"You two have to settle this for once" Tinox let out breaking the silence.
I looked up at him, a frown fixed on my face as I narrowed my eyes wondering what exactly he wanted me to do.
"I am not fixing anything until someone learns how to fix his attitude" I blurted out and Nelson stared at me with angry balls, there was this look in his eyes that I just couldn't explain, the more we gazed right into each other eyes, the more I felt deep rage pulling up and about to explode in a more fierce way than I can tell.
"I don't want to be a part of this," Nelson stated sternly.
"A part of what?" Tinox asked but immediately chipped in before Nelson could utter a word, "Melissa is your wife, she said your life and moreover, she is already a part of your life so I don't understand what more you are in need of"
I shook my head, I didn't want to spend another time in here, there is no point, absolutely no point and the more I stood close to Nelson, the more a strange feeling overwhelmed me making me unable to think straight.
"Please, I have to leave"
Tinox looked up at me very surprised.
"Why?" He Implored.
Of course, I didn't know what to say, I have no reason at all but I just have to find an excuse just to get out of this trap I feel so disgusted in.
"I just need some time to myself to think this out, the more I have issues with Nelson, the more the coronation is being delayed. Perhaps, it will be best I clear my head for the day and we can discuss later" I said politely as I tried not to sound rude at all.
Nelson averted his eyes at me very puzzled,I know that he wasn't expecting to say anything concerning the coronation. This must have taken him really unaware and I don't blame him due to the cat and dog relationship between us.
"You two were discussing the coronation?" Nelson Implored with furred eyebrows, he looked at Tinox this time who looked pleased at my words.
"Yes, we were," I quickly said before Tinox could utter a word.
Nelson stared at me so hard, although I had no idea what might be going through his mind but I know that he is definitely really pained about the whole situation.
"This isn't right, anything concerning the Coronation should be discussed in my presence. I won't stand and he disrespected Tinox, you know the laws better as the Gamma of this pack, you shouldn't discuss issues concerning the Alpha without him being present, it seems more like you are conspiring behind my back and this is something I won't tolerate!" He pinned really hard, his gaze not leaving Tinox who nodded in affirmation.
"Of course Prince Nelson, you are right. But have you forgotten that the law also permits the Gamma and the next Luna in line to have certain discussions without the alpha present? I hope that you haven't forgotten this part of the law yet Prince Nelson" he raised a brow and the angry Nelson looked like he was about to explode.
Tinox turned to him with a calm look on his face, "You can have your leave now Melissa, I will send for you tomorrow so that we can have a full heart discussion about all of this."
Grateful, I smiled, glanced at Nelson and walked out of the hall with a deep sense of relief that grasped me tight.
Nelson!
Arrogant and obnoxious
I rolled my eyes as I walked down the hallway heading back to the chamber.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through my head. I frowned coming to a halt as a maid walked past me with a bow.
Alone, the face of Nelson flashed through my mind again.
The scars!
Yes! The scars.
The incident of that night began to flush into my mind and the whole thing became so clear.
When I saw Nelson's lifeless body, there were scratches on his face which had blood dripping out of them. The scratches were so deep that surely, they will retain permanent scars on Nelson's face.
But I remembered them clearing away to my greatest shock.
How is this possible?
I was so drowned in my sorrow, a part of me just couldn't lose him not minding how much I hate him. Seeing him so unconscious drove me into tears which made me think he was gone for good only for me to look at him and realize the whole scars were gone.
Still not able to understand this, I shook my head and decided to go into the library instead. Nelson might walk into the chamber and right now, I don't want to see his face at all, I was way too angry to even talk to him.
Luckily for me, I had time to quickly walk back into the chamber, changed my dress into a more simple one, picked up the library key and with a final glance at my reflection, I walked out closing the door behind me.
Within minutes, I found myself standing next to the Library door. I drugged the key right into the keyhole, unlocked it and walked into the library locking myself in.
I need some privacy, this will prevent anyone from walking into the library, anyone like Nelson.
With a sigh,I took a seat close to the open window. The soft day breeze blew in and my hair swayed a bit at its touch. I couldn't help but feel really fulfilled, the touch of the hair on my skin felt so good that I closed my eyes feeling the cool atmosphere, my anger slowly drifting away.
Suddenly, I felt a cold icey feeling on my left shoulder, I froze in terror as my eyes flung wide open.
The touch was cold and firm and at that moment, I realized that someone was behind me, its hand on my shoulder.
Goosebumps filled me whole, the whole atmosphere became still and at that moment, I knew that the person present isn't just an ordinary being.
"Who are you?" I stammered as deep fear prevented me from turning back just to see who this person might be.
The cold icey hand didn't leave my shoulder, instead, its grip on me became tighter and a flood of pain rushed down my bones making me scream in pain.
"Alissia" I heard a stranger's voice let out next to me.
With the pain that was about to break my bones into tiny pieces, the name rang like wildfire in my head and I remembered the man with the red eyes calling me this.
Immediately, I heard a loud scream outside the window accompanied with a heavy sound of hammering deets. The screams became louder and I could see people running into different directions and away from the danger that just befell the pack.
"Alissia!" The voice cried out louder this time. Without waiting for me to utter a word, I felt a strong force pull the chair I was seated on to the center of the library.
I begin to tremble, the whole room starts to become so dim, I hear a loud noise beside me, averting my gaze to the direction the noise came from, I only realize that the shelves begin to fall heavily to the ground with the books scattered around.
"Alissia!" The voice screamed so close to me, I turned around and to my greatest terror, standing next to me was a woman with a deadly stare.
She looked pale, angered and three times taller than any human or werewolf I have ever seen.
At once, a face clicked and I gasped in terror, my eyes wide open as a memory begin to flow in. At that moment, I recognized her as the woman I saw in my dream, the woman with the red eyes in a cottage deep in the woods.
"It's been years in Alissia, so many years!" She said with sharp green eyes, a look of wrath on her face.
"Who are you?" I asked still in shock and fear as I wondered what exactly was going on. I couldn't make sense out of it but before I could utter another word, I felt a tight grasp around my neck making my heart leap in fear.
"Die Alissia, you have cost me so much pain, you and your mother and I won't let you live this time around, no way! You shall pay for the sins of your mother!" She stared aggressively, her fingers still wrapped around my neck tighter than before.
