41- Almost a fight between brothers
**Phill and Paul** glared at each other, the tension in the air almost palpable. Paul simply couldn't believe his eyes: his brother kissing Ellen, the woman he cherished as his own. Ellen, for her part, was paralyzed, not knowing how to face the explosive situation unfolding before her.
Paul's heart was beating uncontrollably as he processed the betrayal that seemed to have happened right before his eyes. Because in his eyes and heart, he and Ellen had something, but she hadn't given him the final answer about their relationship. The feeling of his world falling apart suffocated him. He had never imagined that his brother could inflict such deep pain on him. Paul had never felt that way, he had never felt anything for anyone like that. He was intensely in love and attracted to her.
Phill, with a frown, broke the silence with a serious, cutting tone. “What do you think I was doing, brother? You saw it, so it's obvious.” Ellen felt her heart squeeze; what she never wanted to witness was her brothers fighting.
Paul, in his restrained rage, waved his arms, struggling to contain the urge to hit his brother. Bitterness mingled with shock in his mind, and he ran his hand over his beard, his eyes sparking with anger, and replied in a huff: “Why were you fucking kissing Ellen? I saw her trying to get away from you. And… you were grabbing her, what the hell is going on here? Talk now.” He ordered, glaring at his brother angrily.
Phill, confused by the intensity of his brother's reaction, tried to explain: “I kissed her because I like her, Ellen was enjoying the kiss, if she wasn't, she would have pushed me away or something. And why are you so stressed about it? As far as I know, she's single. And she can do whatever she wants. So can I.”
Phill looked at Paul, his eyes full of defiance, but also pain. He didn't want things to escalate into a physical confrontation with his brother, but his emotions were running high.
Paul could no longer contain the explosion of feelings inside him. With one swift movement, he lunged at his brother, grabbing him violently by the collar. His voice sounded harsh and full of possessiveness. “Ellen is not single, she's mine, do you understand? Don't you ever touch her again?” Ellen's eyes widened as she heard what Paul had said, it was clearer than ever that he liked her too much.
With a violent shove, Paul pushed his brother away, who staggered backward but managed to stay on his feet. He ran his hands through his hair, which was messy on his face, and shouted back at his brother: “Stop talking nonsense, shit. Ellen isn't yours. If she was, she wouldn't have allowed me to kiss her.”
Ellen, realizing that the situation was about to get out of hand, quickly put herself between the two of them, preventing the violence from unfolding before her eyes.
She looked at Phill, trying to calm him down, and seeing her there, he tried to be less angry. As she turned her face to Paul, who was still seething with anger. She could see the veins pulsing in his neck, his face red and his eyes clenched. He met Ellen's eyes and said authoritatively. “Come with me,” Paul demanded, holding her hand tightly. Before they could leave, Phill grabbed her other hand, preventing her from following Paul.
Ellen looked in Phill's direction, and he questioned her, his eyes full of pain: “So… you're with him? Then why did you allow me to kiss you? I don't understand you.” His eyes reflected a mixture of sadness and anger, but not directed at her.
Ellen bit her lip, feeling confused and angry about the whole situation. With tears streaming from her eyes, she let go of both their hands and asked, her voice trembling: “Please, let me get some air… Phill, you kissed me by surprise, I didn't have time to react… I can't talk right now… I just ask you not to fight anymore. We'll talk later.”
Ellen hurried out of the building, walking away from them and trying not to look back. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she desperately searched for a moment of clarity. Her head was in a whirl, and this situation left her more confused than ever. Her heart was pounding, she knew she felt something intense and crazy for Paul, she couldn't resist him. But the other brother attracted her in a way. Phill was the ideal man that every woman wants. Handsome, attractive, affectionate, friendly, nothing compared to Paul, but her heart beat wildly for Paul.
