Chapter 24 Marriage interruption
It’s been a week since we fought against the hunters who wanted to take me and Katie. They all knew not to let their guard down even know that they have heard nothing from the hunters for what happen to Sid. Kenzie wondered when the other shoe would drop, because she knew that they wouldn’t let this go so easily. Kenzie would not worry about that now she has a wedding to plan and get it ready in the next month. Kenzie calls her friends to come over to help her plan the wedding. She couldn’t wait for them to come over so they could get started. She even made Adam leave to go hang with his brothers so she could plan the wedding in peace. Next thing Kenzie heard a knock at the front door. She was leery to answer the door at first, and then she figured it was her friends to come to help her out. She walks to the door and opens it up and invites her friends in.

“So where do you what to start Kenzie?”

They all asked at the same time.

“Wow, you all seem eager to get me married off.”

She laughs as she tells them this.

“It’s not that Kenzie. We all just want to see you happy for a change. You have been through so much and you have none support from your family. This sucks.”  ShaSha stated with a small smile on her face.

“You know she’s right for a change Kenzie,” Conner said as she gives ShaSha a playful push.

“I know you all mean well, but me not having my family around is their choice, not mine. Plus, I have all of you, which is so much better.”

They all laugh and go sit in the living room to get started on the wedding plans.

“Well, since we need this done quickly with so much happening lately. I figure the mid-spring weather would be nice. Plus, I think I have the colors picked. I want to know what all of you think and I need help with a place to have it and the style of the wedding dress and bride maid dresses.”

“Well, don’t keep us waiting tells us what you have come up with so far.” Screamed Haven.

“Kat you can write it all done and keep track of the choice. Sami, you can make sure all the guy's tuxes are on track and match each of the bride maids dresses. How does that sound?”  

Both girls shack their heads as a reply.

“Haven you can make sure where we have the wedding gets booked and the reception. Conner you are in charge of the guest list and the guest book for the wedding. Katie, you are to get both places decorated. Now everyone has a job. I don’t think I forgot anything.”

“You didn’t just do that and leave me out of all of this.”

“No, I didn’t I wanted to see your face when I didn’t say what you was in charge of.”

“You are so not funny Kenzie.”

“Yeah but you love me, anyway. So ShaSha ready to hear what you are in charge of?”

“Yes, of chores I do.”  

“My dare friend have the most important job of them all. You are in charge of the Bachelorette Party!”

“Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about there. You will have a hell of a good time.”

They all laugh until they are all ready to piss themselves.  

“Ok, now I have you all doing something. I can tell you what colors I have to choose. Pink, baby blue and bright green.  Plus, I want the bride’s maid dress to go to every other color and the men’s tuxes to do the same. But what every color your dress is your flowers have to be the other two colors.  The men’s tuxes have to have all three colors just change the flower, a handkerchief around and the cummerbund. What do you all think so far?”

“I think you are at a good start so far with what you want. I need to see more of what you want it to look like. Maybe if we put pictures together and samples of what you want, it may come easier to explain to everyone later.” ShaSha was trying to explain to Kenzie what she meant about it all.

“I like what you have so far. I can see you got a good start in such a short time.” Conner stated to everyone.

The rest just agreed that she had a fantastic start on her wedding plans. They also noticed that she didn’t have a date yet some an idea of when she wanted to have it.

“Well, I have an idea about where we should have your wedding at, plus it would also be good for the reception,” Haven announced with a smile.  

“Where are you thinking about the wedding?” Kenzie asked with a hopeful look on her face.

“Well, I was thinking of a park would be nice. Like Deming Park in Terre Haute. It has lots of trees and water that would look good in pictures.”

“I can see your appoint with what you are saying, but do we have any more ideas or does everyone agree with Deming Park?”  

They all agreed that Deming Park would be the best place since it could host both things and people wouldn’t drive anywhere to go to the reception.

“Ok, then we will have it at Deming Park. We need to find out what dates they have availed for April.”

“Well then, we will need to get started on that. Do you know what you want to serve at the reception?” Katie was wondering.

“No, I have given little thought yet. So if you have any ideas that would be great.”

“Well, are you going to want comfort foods or something else?”

“I think comfort foods would be best, but maybe have a mixture of a lot of different foods.”

“Well, give me a few days and I will see if I can come up with a menu for you. If any of you ladies have any suggestions please let me know.” Katie wants to show everyone she could be a part of their group.

“We have the place, the colors, and an idea that a menu for it all. It stills feels like there is so much left to do.”

“Kenzie you have a lot to do, but with all of us here to help you it will get done,” Sami said patting Kenzie on the shoulder.

“I know you all are here to help, but part of me seems to think about going to Vegas and get married quickly and not worry about all this planning.”

“Don’t you dare do that to all of us? We want to be a part of this and do all of this with you. We wouldn’t want to miss any of this with you.” Conner said while being upset with Kenzie a little.

“I wouldn’t do that to you guys. I am enjoying planning all of this with all of you. I feel that something will happen either before I get married or something else but it will be soon.”

“Did you see or something Kenzie?” Haven had to ask that question since she knew everyone was thinking the same thing.

“No, I haven’t seen or anything like that. It is more of a feeling than anything.”

“Ok, I had to ask since I know we were all wondering the same thing.”

“I understand. I can see them letting this go. Not with so much at stake and how bad they all seem to want me.”

“Well, let’s not talk about that now. It can wait till after the wedding unless we hear something from them or someone sees or something. We need to keep our mind on happier things right now.” Sami stated flatly.

“I know you are right Sami, but it is so hard to do. I have so much on my mind right now and it is so hard to focus on just one thing.”

“Ok, it’s time to get back on track with this wedding. What day would you like to have it?” ShaSha asked Kenzie hoping it would get it back on happier things.

“I was thinking about April 12, hoping to have an evening wedding. The time I was thinking was 4:00 pm. That way it’s got the low light from the sun to have all the nice color change in the air.”

“Well, that is something I will have to check on when I call the place,” Haven said and hoped it reassured her that someone will take it care of.

“Well, once the place gets booked, it will make it a lot easier to get the rest done. I am still looking for the design of the dresses I want it could take me a little while on that. Plus Sami you need to make sure the guys get started on getting their tuxes order and fit. Conner, I want close friends and the ones I consider as a family on the guest list. I want to make sure the family I have my blood doesn’t show up.  Plus, Adam and I will have to go get pictures done so we can put it in the paper. So in the next few days, we need to get pictures done, the menu, and find dresses design. So I guess we are all going to be busy with all this plus the café should be back up and ready now from what happened to it from the hunters.”

“Well, I will check on the café in the morning and see what still has to be done. You can always turn the web page back on and start with that from home if you have too.”

ShaSha told her while she took notes about what still needed to be done.

“Don’t worry we all will be here to help you out with everything,” Haven stated while patting Kenzie on the shoulder.

“What is the café?” Katie asked with a questionable look on her face.

“Well, the café is a little restaurant I own. It is where I make food for others to come and eat or take home. I even have an online website where I have orders and ship them to people.” Kenzie explained to Katie.

“Oh, I see. I would like to help there if I could. It sounds like it would be fun to do.”

“You are more than welcome to come and work with us. We could teach you everything about the place. It will be fun to have another person to work with. If the business keeps doing well, I will expand like I have been wanting too.”  

“Well, Kenzie I think we are all going to take off now and get started on some of these things. Plus, you need to relax for a while and try to find those designs you ate wanting.”

Haven said as she got up and walked towards the door. The rest followed her to the door to leave.

“All right, guys. See you later call me if you have any problems with anything.”

“We will.”

Then they all left and Kenzie was alone to think about all that they talked about today.

Over the next few days, Kenzie and the gang were busy. Not only with the wedding but with the café’s new opening. They were also training Katie to help with the café. Everything seems to go well until late that evening. There was a letter on her door when she got home from the café. She was wondering when it would happen next. So she wasn’t all that surprised when she found it. She reached and grabbed the letter off the door and walked inside. She went into the kitchen to start the coffeepot. Then she sat down at the table to read the letter.

I hear you are getting married soon. I want to be the first to congratulate you on the upcoming wedding. Even if I don’t think it will happen I wish you the best. I look forward to seeing you in your wedding dress.

She walked over to the coffeepot got her a cup of coffee and went to call Adam to tell him about the letter. Adam rushed over to her to make sure she was ok and to read the letter. Once he knew she was ok and that the letter was not like the others he walked up to her and kissed her so sweetly. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer to her. He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom and laid her down on the bed.

“Not tonight my love. I want to hold you and make the day we get married special for you. I want our wedding night to be one that stands out above them all.”

“You are such a romantic when you want to be. I want to be held right now. There is so much on my mind I am having a hard time thinking straight.”

“What has your mind so full my love?”

“Well, the café for one, then the wedding for another, and now the hunters are back on my mind.”

“I will worry about the hunters. You take care of the wedding and the café. Just make the wedding of your dreams.”

“I am trying to do all that and make sure my café gets back to where it was before the hunters trashed it.”

“Come on, let's go take a shower and help you relax. Then we can have dinner and can go to bed.”

“That sounds like a good idea.”

Then they went to the bathroom and started their shower. Once their shower was done they started with their dinner not talking much either. They both were off in thought and didn’t know how to say what they were thinking.

“Dinner was good my love. Are you ready for bed or would you like to watch a little television first?”

“I would like to just go to bed. I have another busy day ahead of me.” They both walked to bed holding hands.

The next morning Kenzie woke early and headed to the café before the crack of dawn. She wanted to get an early start on opening the website back up and start the breakfast food before the café opened. When she got there, she found a present waiting for her by the door. She picked it up and unlocked the café’s door. Went to her office and worked on the website. She figured that the hunters could wait till she got time. She heard the door open and Haven walked into her office and just stared at her.

“Hello, what are you doing here so early?”

“I wanted to get an early start on the day. Plus, I figured it was better than sitting at home just so I can think about the next thing that will happen. So what brings you in so early?”

“I knew you well enough to know that you would be in early to get things caught up or ahead of where they needed to be. What’s with the gift?”

“I found it here waiting for me when I showed up. I haven’t worried about it since I was putting the café first. Then I would go dress shopping after work.”

“Do you know who sent the gift?”

“I have an idea who sent it and so do you.”

“Do you really think the hunters sent that to you?”

“I am sure it was them. Since I had a letter from them last night waiting for me when I got home from work.”

“Really and you didn’t call me or the others?”

“I guess I wasn’t surprised from it. It wasn’t treating or anything like that. But they know about my wedding. It also said they wanted to see me in my wedding dress.”

“Wow, that sounds interesting. So what are you going to do?”

“Keep planning my wedding and taking care of my café.”

“Well, that’s good. Then let’s get things back to normal in the café. Then we can finish getting your wedding ready.”

They both got to work in the café until ShaSha walked in at 8 am. “Good morning ShaSha,” Both girls said to her as she walked in.

“Good morning you two. What are you both doing here so early?”

“We were just getting things ready for breakfast and online,” Kenzie said with a smile.

“How are the wedding plans coming to Kenzie?”

“They are coming along. I will go dress showing when I get off work.”

“That sounds like a plan. Is there anything I can help with or am I running the front today?”

“I think we have the back taken care of till one or other comes in to help. So yeah, you can run the front today.”

They all finished setting up for the day. Opening the café for a busy day of work. Everyone was talking about Kenzie getting married and how glad they were that her café was back open. They all kept busy even when the others came into help. The day passed so quickly and then Kenzie left to go dress shopping.

Kenzie found all the dresses she was looking for. She even found a cute little flower girls dress for ShaSha’s little girl. She will have to remember to tell Sami to find something for ShaSha’s little boy. She found a cute little dress and a basket for her. She even found a cute pillow for the rings. Now she found most of the items she was looking for she wanted to go to two other shops for things for the wedding night. There was also something she wanted to pick up for Adam as a wedding gift.  The whole time Kenzie was shopping she felt she was being watched. She knew she would never see who it was, but she knew they were there. Once she got everything done, she picked up dinner and headed home.

When Kenzie got home, she noticed that there was a bunch of cars in her driveway. She was wondering why so many people were at her house. So she parked her car at Adam’s house and walked over to her house and left all her packages in the car except what she picked up for dinner. When she walked into her house, everyone yelled surprise at her. Then Kenzie noticed that there was a big banner in the living room. She wanted to laugh at what her friends have pulled off for her. She completely forgot about having a bachelorette party. The girls had all their friends there and cake and food. ShaSha even pulled out some of their old movies from when they were a kid. It was so hard to believe that she could pull this off with everything going on. Kenzie decided she would let it all go for tonight and enjoy herself.

All the little notes and gifts kept up throughout the month and some next. They stopped a week before the wedding. Kenzie just knew that something big was about to happen. Everyone was on guard waiting for the hunters also while trying to do the last minute touches for the wedding. The night before the wedding Kenzie made Adam sleep over at his house with his brothers while the girls all sleep at her house with her. They had two limousines taking them to Deming Park from the house. They had two cars waiting for them at the park so they all could get home, except one limo would take the married couple to the airport to go on their honeymoon. They all had to get a good night sleep so they could get up and get ready. Just before she went to bed Kenzie remembered about all the gifts that the hunters had sent.

She pulled them all out of the closet and just looked at the Thirty-five gifts off different sizes and shapes. She had them all marked of which one came first to the last one. She wondered if she opened them if it would give her a clue to what they may be up too. So she opened them one by one. Nothing in them gave her a clue to what they were up too. Also, none of the gifts made sense either. Somewhere stones, others were liquids, and the rest were powders. She figured she would give them to Sam and the others to do a study on them while they are gone on their honeymoon. With all that put behind her now, she could lie down and go to sleep.

The next morning everyone was up early having breakfast and talking about all they have to do before they have to head to Deming Park for the wedding. The day seemed to go quickly, and it was time to leave for the park. The boys left before them so they could get in place. The limo pulled up out front and phone ShaSha to let her know that their limo was ready. So everyone headed for the limo to go. The ladies arrived at the park with 15 minutes to spare. So they had enough time to get in their places as the music for the bridesmaids played. So the ladies walked down the aisle to stand and wait for Kenzie to walk down to a waiting Adam. Kenzie heard the wedding march played, and she walked towards Adam with a big smile on her face. Just as she reached him they all heard guns go off and someone yell

“Stop this wedding can’t take place.”

Everyone looks towards the back of the wedding hall and see a tall man standing there with his back to everyone.

“Who are you?” Adam yelled at the man.

The man slowly turned around and all you heard was Kenzie

“Gasp”

When she saw who it was.
