Chapter 23 New Leaders for the Hunters
We made it home and everyone healed with the help of Katie and Sami’s spells for fast healing. Then we would go to bed for a while and then get up to talk about the things that Katie and I had planned for the hunters. We know it may take a while for them to get used to the new way things will run but it will be better for everyone in the long run.

“So off to bed and rest we can talk about all this later. Sleep well, my friends.”

“Sleep well Kenzie they all said in return.”

They all went their separate ways to their rooms to sleep and to heal.  The next morning they all join at the café for breakfast and to talk about what comes next.

“Good morning everyone.”

It came from ShaSha when she walked out of the kitchen. They all looked up and smiled and returned the greeting. Once everyone was done eating they talked about what happen and what they might expect to come their way. Not one of them could answer what to expect from the hunters or when Brett would get everyone organized to come after them.

“Conner, do you think maybe we could work together in seeing what will come our way?”

Kenzie was asking in wonderment.

“We might do that. I will have to research on the matter.”

So Conner got up to leave so she could go get started on the research but was stopped by Sam.

“You are not going by yourself. I will go with you so we can stick together.”

“Fine, I guess you can come with me big boy,” Conner said as she flirted with Sam.

“You two stay safe and let us know if you find out anything or just need us at all,” Adam yelled as they left the café.

They waved as they walked out the door.

“Kenzie I would like us to talk about something a lot happier than this right now.”

“Oh, Adam. What would that be?”

“How about we talk about us getting married and we plan a wedding?”

“Is this your way of asking me to marry you?”

“Yes, it is. So what do you say Kenzie? Will you marry me?”

“Yes, Adam thousand times yes. I will marry you.”

Everyone in the café gave three loud cheers to them both. Adam then grabs Kenzie and picks her up and swings her around. She screams and puts her hands on his face then crushes her lips on to his.

ShaSha, Haven, Sami, and Katie jump up and scream and all talk at once.

“Girl’s you all can’t talk at once. It has to be one at a time so I can understand you guys.”

Then they all laughed.

“Where would you like to start in planning the wedding Kenzie,” ShaSha asked while the other guys stood there shaking their heads.

While they all talked about the wedding, the hunters were getting their act together and picking the leader of their group.

No one could have guessed that Brett already planned to take over no matter what. Brett called all the hunters to order so he could let them know what happen and so he can make them believe that they will vote on the new leader.

“Everyone needs to shut the fuck up so I can talk. We need to talk about pointing a new leader since they kill Sid.”

The room went silent and you could hear a pin drop.

“Now I have all of your attention. Let’s get down to business. The groups we have been chasing for a while now have killed Sid and almost kill me. We lost a few others we need to get reorganized and go back after them. We need to vote for a new leader and I am letting you all know how I am putting my name in for a leader. Is there anyone who will run against me?”

At first, no one spoke up to run against Brett. Then one person came forth to run against him.

“I will run against you for the leader of the hunters.”

“Kevin you will run against me? What makes you think you have what it takes to be the leader of the hunters?”

“No one likes the way you run things, Brett. You think you are all that and do no wrong. You don’t treat people fairly. You kill to be killing the supernatural no matter what. So yeah, I think I could do a better job than you.”

“Well then, by a hunter’s rules we fight for leadership.”

They all went to the fighting ring to watch Brett and Kevin fight for the leadership of the hunters. Bret and Kevin step into the ring each one taking their own corner. Alex steps in the ring to be the ref for the fight. Alex explains the rules that the fight is to the death and that anything goes. Alex calls both fighters to the middle of the ring and asks if they understand the rules. Both fighters shook their heads yes and went back to their corners. Alex yelled

“Let the fight begin.”

Both fighters circled the ring. Kevin took the first punch at Bret’s face. Bret moved out the way and took a swing of his owe and caught Kevin in the gut. Then Bret moved behind Kevin and got him around the neck. Kevin tried to elbow Bret in the gut to get loose but it didn’t work Bret could snap Kevin’s neck. Kevin fell to the ground with a thud.  No one made a sound when Bret won the fight. Alex steps back into the ring and walk over to Bret and throw his hands in the air. Alex yells we have a new leader and Bret is our leader now. Let’s give three cheers for Bret our new leader. Bret steps forward to address everyone as the new leader of the hunters.

“Let’s all meet in the main dining hall to celebrate our new leader,” Alex announced.

Everyone filed out of the gym where the fight took place.  Once everyone entered the dining hall, the celebration began. Most new once that celebration ended then they would go after the supernatural group that killed their old leader. Not everyone was looking forward to going after that group. Some seem to think it provoked them to act in the wrong way. But no one dared to stand up to Brett now he was the new leader. The celebration ended. Brett called a meeting for his main hunters so they could come up with a plan of attack on the group they are now calling (Supernatural rebels).  They heard from their spy’s that Kenzie’s and her mate was planning a wedding and soon will hold a ceremony. They figured that would be the best time to strike since everyone would be busy with the wedding going on. Once they made up when they would strike next came how they would do it. Brett figure this way they would not know what hit the Supernatural rebels.
