Chapter 16 16
Days had passed, yet I hadn't heard from the Dragon Sovereign, nor had any guard shown up. The only face I saw daily was the servant who served my meal, and since she had never answered any of my questions or even given me a soft look, the only business I had with her was to watch her serve the meal and then leave.
At noon, I was busy peeling off my long nails when I felt a serene breeze on my skin, which made me cover my face a bit. I opened my eyes, and my heart skipped upon seeing the eyes glued at my face. I breathed rashly even after I knew that it was Dragon Sovereign, but I wondered what he was doing in my cell.
He stood up and began walking towards the end of the cell, yet said nothing. So, I was pushed to ask him, “Did you get any news about my brother? There could be no other reason for you to be here if not for it, right?”
“Of course!” he responded and then turned to me. He stretched his hand towards me, and between his fingers was a sheet of brown paper. “I got it from the fae king, and it was to be delivered to you. Your brother has been taken out of the cage you mentioned, and they happened to find out about you.”
How was that possible? Was it because they were searching for my brother?
I recalled the night that the faes almost caught us at the shrine. It couldn't be that they found out about me that night.
Quickly, I opened the paper and, after reading through their writing, covered my face with my palms. They were threatening that I would show up in the realm, or they would execute my brother and still come after me.
“I am still searching for him and do not want to threaten your species until he's found. If not, why would they be living? They aren't aware that the dragons are back yet, because my men are always disguised while searching for him,” he said to me, and I finally raised my face. “Showing you the letter is just so you know what's on board while I take care of it.”
I nodded and dropped the letter beside me. “So, what about taking me out of here?”
“Be patient!”
I looked around, and he had vanished. “Dragon Sovereign, I wasn't done,” I screamed, but my echo resounded, and I relaxed back again hopelessly. “He should be fast about the introduction. Even if I would strip for them, it's no longer a big deal when my life matters most.” I mumbled under my breath.
The day ended so fast, and as usual, I slept peacefully that night.
What I didn't expect was to wake up to see two guards standing and watching me. They did not even show a slight smile, or maybe wore a soft look and not as though we had an argument.
I stood up and bowed to them, then one of them announced to me, “Today, you will work with the other prisoners, so we are here to take you.”
My brows furrowed. I pointed my index finger at my chest, “Do you mean that I, who is standing before you, will work? I hadn't done that before, so why should I?” and I was being serious, because all through my life, I hadn't ever worked.
Sometimes, I follow Ofelia to their farm and still end up eating until we leave. When it comes to doing those jobs, I was so lazy.
The men walked closer and took my hand, then we began flitting out of the cell. By the time I was able to dictate where I was, I noticed it was a field. I glanced at my sides, and the men weren't with me, but before me were lots of dragons, females and males, looking so scary.
I glanced around, wanting to see the guards and where they went, but there was not a single one of them, just me who stood between crowds of prisoners. I didn't want to start thinking of where they were all kept when the others hid themselves, or was it just the subordinates of the Dragon Sovereign that hid?
Amongst them, I was the only fae, even powerless and had nothing to offer. Now that they were all going to work, how would I do it? Escaping would warrant a penalty, and not working would as well.
If there were a way for me to reach the Dragon Sovereign, I would kindly do that so he could come help me out.
I was still looking around when someone nudged me from behind, and I stumbled forward. If I hadn't held my composure, I would have hit the ground. I scowled and turned to see who it could be that did that to me, only to come face to face with three young men standing brutally before me.
One of them had a dragon scale on his cheek, another on his arm, and the other had none.
Even if it were my fellow female, what could I have done? I simply bowed to them and was about to walk away from there when the one standing at the right held me back by my arm. I looked at him, and then at my arm, baffled as to what was going on. “What?” I asked, and he let go of me, then scoffed.
“You're the fae captive. I wonder why you think you're worthy to be in our midst,” the man uttered, coming closer, and the other joined him. “Powerless too, making it so interesting.”
I had nothing to tell them, so I was about to leave their midst when he held me back again. This time, I couldn't hide how annoyed I was and yelled in his face, “Is there any problem?”
“Why not? A fae being amid dragons is already a problem, so what else do you want to hear?” another questioned, reaching closer too.
I pressed my lips together and then slowly took my hand from the first man. “If that's the case, then I apologise for being a fae amid you all. I didn't drop here suddenly, but was taken by Dragon Sovereign.”
“You seduced him, didn't you?” one of the men asked, and I gnashed my teeth. “There's no way His Sovereignty will fancy you and bring you here instead of attacking you. So tell us, what did you do to him?”
“Faes have dripping pùssy, haven't you heard of that? I think His Sovereignity inhaled the scent of his dripping pùssy and became offended, now he captured her to be imprisoned,” another responded.
They clapped their hands as though they found a suitable answer.
Should I blame them? The dragons are supposed to be grateful to me that their Sovereignity was released, thanks to me. On what stand should I seduce that man? He was good-looking, no doubt. But, how am I supposed to seduce him?
Now that I remember, he loves seeing my nude. If I told them that their Sovereignity was a Voyeur, they would beat me to a pulp.
I glanced at them, held my shoulders high and stepped away. I had already gotten some miles away from them when someone pulled me back by my dress. As he flung me around, a thunderous slap landed on my face, sending me flying to the side, and I landed on the floor.
My butt hurt. I didn't know whether to rub my cheek or my arm, but I was groaning while sitting there, only for the whole prisoners to begin surrounding me.
