A BRIEF NAP
A BRIEF NAP
Dante
I knock on the restroom door. Immediately no on me answers, I push it open without a second thought. Maybe there’s a naked woman there somewhere but I have to check, she had been gone for too long and Jacob is immersed in a conversation with one of his family members and from what I could tell the conversation is not going to end anytime soon.
Viviana gasps when I emerge and she doesn’t wait for me to explain before she swerves from the mirror she was angrily staring at m, to me.
“What are you doing here? First this is a restroom for females and please don’t try to tell m you cannot read because I wont buy into that this time. There is clearly a drawing that shows and leaves no room for doubts that this place can only see females. Yet here you are. So what’s your excuse this time huh? Tell me, cat got your tongue?”
Before I can say anything she stalks toward me angrily and steps into my space, looking up at me with laser eyes. “I thought I was going to seal my lips but now should the best time to air my thoughts. I have been noticing your eyes on me. At first I thought they were out of curiosity or something else but now they are beginning to make me feel awkward. Keep your eyes to yourself , do you hear me?”
Her chest was heaving. She is mad and I doubt it’s merely because of my presence here. Yes I know Alonso pointed that she made mention of me being a creep but I think the anger is beyond that. Something happened and it might have happened on her way here or maybe even before she passed me by. “Who made you mad?” I question roughly. She tilts her head and looks at me like I might have sprouted horns. “Are you kidding me? Is this a joke? You are in a female restroom and-“
I immediately interrupt her. “Yes I know that and apologize for that but I noticed a strange man going after you immediately you passed by and I thought to ensure that you are safe. But I also know that what is making you speak to me like that is because you aren’t happy. Someone made you mad. Tell me who it is.”
“Stop speaking to me like that-“
“Like how?” I demand. “Like you know me!” She adds and I grind my teeth, locking my jaw. “You are not my friend and the only relationship we have is as persons who work for the same boss. Hell we just recently met. Stay in your own lane Massimo and don’t try to trespass on mine and majorly, keep your eyes to yourself. I am not intrigued.”
And then she’s sashaying away from me and maneuvering herself to the door. I swear to find out what happened and the only method of attaining that is by getting footage from the security cameras within. Or maybe hacking into it. That should be so hard. I can get someone within minutes and that what I do.
As I drive them back to the hotel I receive a notification on my phone indicating a message for what I requested. I almost increase my speed limit but luckily I’m able to stay in line and drive us to safety. He no use my remaining free hours for the day to watch the video of them during the meeting with Fernando Grant. I had caught Fernando more than once glancing at me and I wonder if he knew something I didn’t. Or if he knows the person I am posing as.
After few minutes of watching their lips moving and Viviana’s earnest professionalism, I catch the video right up till Fernando gets a call and chooses to leave. Then the next scene that was defiantly the cause of Viviana’s anger played.
Because of where I had been standing, watching them and any unlikely movement in the restaurant, I had not caught it. But now the footage covered them from above and I had a clear view of Jacob Bianchi’s paw landing on Viviana’s thigh. I watch as she manages to remove it from her thigh before scurrying toward the restroom. But the bastard doesn’t seem to have a single properly working brain cell because he still turns to ogle her. There and then, I reconcile within me that before my final parting gift for him, I have to do something to him before we leave this beautiful country of Japan.
Something that would get him frightened- very frightened but will remain incapable of compromising my reputation as his bodyguard. I go over ma my ideas in my head until one finally clicks and I grin at the pleasure that courses through me as I anticipate the result in my head.
Then as I always do, I shook a message to someone. Who says being a Don doesn’t have its perks? I have so many connections that even presidents should need. I sigh before closing my eyes for a brief nap.
