Chapter 56: We Found Love-2
"Yes!" I shouted out interrupting his speech, "Fuck yes! I love you so much, of course, I'll marry you!"
Let us be real here, he had me at toilet paper.
Beaming, he removed the ring from the box and placed it on my ring finger. Lunging at him, I kissed James wildly, my happy tears staining his face as he pulled me onto his lap, his arms wrapping around my naked waist.
"Who would've thought that you'd go from being my sugar daddy to my boyfriend..." I joked then added more seriously, "I can't believe that now you're my fiancé!" I said while looking at the sparkling ring on my hand.
"Indeed, and one day, I'll be your baby daddy and husband," he added with a grin.
His words caused my head to snap up look at him, "You want children?" I asked with slight surprise.
James had always been a party animal, and I never thought that he was the type of man to want to settle down, much less get married and have children. The thought warmed me, seeing as I had missed my last period, but had yet to take a pregnancy test to confirm anything.
"I'm Irish! Of course, I want children! I'm thinking like ten or so..." he kissed my nose.
Raising an eyebrow at him, my nose wrinkled up at the image of numerous children running around. The sudden sound of James laughing out at the stunned expression on my face pulled my attention back to him.
It took me a moment for the shock of his words to wear off before I spoke.
"Well, if I'm to be your wife, before you destroy my vagina with your bigheaded children, we need to make some changes to some things," I stated light-heartedly.
"Wait, before you begin to ramble off a list of demands," James teased before saying more seriously, "I want to ask something else. Do you want to be a part of the business?"
"Ha! Do I look like crazy ass Jade to you?" I reacted while choking out a laugh.
Shrugging slightly, he said, "One never knows, I mean I heard she is pretty bad ass with a gun, and I know how close you two are. I didn't know if you'd be wanting to follow in her footsteps, so to speak?"
"Nope!" I specified with extra emphasis, making a popping sound with my lips, "Jade is on a whole other level of badassery, she's like a purple-haired Lara Croft! I'm good with knowing how to shoot a gun to defend myself just like she taught me. But I rather heat up your credit cards than heat up a gun."
Tipping his head back, James laughed loudly, "Fair enough, as to be honest
I don't know what I would have done if you decided you did want to join. I want to keep you safe and far away from the ugly side of my life."
"That's definitely something we can both agree on!" I stated before adding,
"Now my turn..."
"Alright, I'm listening," he replied smiling.
My fingers played with the hair by the nape of his neck as I spoke, "First of all, while I adore Nigel and Thomas, they need to give me some breathing room. Even though it's been over a year, I'm still not used to them following me around."
"Sorry love, that's not negotiable," James quickly countered, clearly knowing where my train of thought was headed.
"But–" I started, only to be silenced by his index finger against my lips.
"I said no. I'd never forgive myself if anything ever happened to you, your protection detail stays," his face contorted slightly at the thought of losing me.
Sighing softly, I pursed my lips.
"Why have you been so adamant about not having protection these last few months? Are you hiding something? Sounds like you're trying to run away,"
James said playfully, though his eyes seemed a bit weary.
Quickly shaking my head, I stammered to find a plausible explanation, "Erm, no it's not that. It just feels a bit much at times, I don't know when I'll get used to it."
James nodding then, seeming to understand.
Grumbling I pouted, "Can they at least try to blend in like Dominic's guys?"
"That I can attempt, and you should be glad that I only give you two. I'm sure Jade would be most grateful for a decrease in numbers, so be happy that I'm not as stifling..." James said with a smirk before asking, "Any other requests?"
"I want a nice engagement party with all my friends and family," I said, my eyes wide with happiness.
Tilting his head slightly, "I thought that was obvious? I've already planned a small announcement party this weekend with the other mafia heads, then we'll do something separate for our families."
"You were so sure that I'd have said yes?" I jokingly probed.
"Just hopeful," he replied with a cheeky smile, before adding, "I even bought you those new Manolo Blahnik heels that you've been eyeing as a surprise just to wear for the occasion."
Pecking his lips repeatedly at the mention of new shoes, I squealed, "You're the best! I need to go call back Jade now!" I excitedly exclaimed as I shifted to get out of his embrace.
Raising an eyebrow, "Really? No post-proposal sex?" James asked, his eyes mischievously glinting at me.
"But you just got some!" I laughed pushing against his chest. Flipping us over so that he was on top once more, his smile was wide as he looked down at me, "So? We weren't engaged then..." James nuzzled my
neck then said, "You can tell her in a bit, come give your fiancé some loving first."
My moans filled the room as James proceeded to make love to me once more.
