Chapter 55: We Found Love-1
▪ B L A I R E▪
For the last two months, I figured that things in Aelbank City were relatively peaceful as James seemed more relaxed than usual.
I was sitting with my laptop at the desk in James' bedroom, video-chatting with Jade. As usual, our conversations were full of energy and I smiled as I watched her pretty face on the screen.
"University is not the same without you!" I complained with a slight pout.
Wrinkling her nose at me, Jade countered, "What are you talking about? I come to sit in on some of your classes ever week, stop being so spoilt!" "I can't help it, I'm greedy!" I giggled and continued, "I'm proud of you though. Just imagine, you'll be walking across the big stage in a few weeks!
Be sure to give Dominic hell and make sure he keeps his promise."
"Oh, trust me, I will..." Jade exclaimed with a naughty look in her eyes. "How's that pretty pussy of yours doing? Better?" I asked, knowing that she had been pretty sore the other day.
Jade and Dominic had been at it like rabbits. They were clearly making up for lost time and I was all for it as there was no better feeling than having your lady parts pounded by the man you loved.
Plus, there was the added bonus of us finally being able to swap sex stories! Nodding her head, she replied, "I did as you had instructed with the Epsom salt, was magic!"
"Told ya!" I giggled knowingly.
I was in the middle of talking about an upcoming campus party when James suddenly came up and hugged me from behind.
"Hi Jade! You girls can gossip some more later, right now I need to borrow my girlfriend," the Irishman said, his words coming out all at once as he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I squealed as I hit at his back.
Jade laughed out as she replied, "Hi James. Bye James. You guys have fun!"
I knew that Jade left the video running for a while longer as I had yet to hear the disconnection notification. Though she could not see us, it was obvious that she could still hear, given that she was giggling and cheering me on while James dropped me onto the bed and kissed me as he attempted to have sex.
After a few moments though, I heard the notification, signalling that Jade had left to give us some privacy.
"That was very rude. I was in the middle of a very important conversation!" I exclaimed in-between kisses, as my clothes were hurriedly stripped off piece by piece.
"Well you know me, I'm known for lacking manners," James grinned, before curiously enquiring, "I couldn't help but overhear something earlier regarding Jade and Dominic. They're having sex? Are they a couple now or something?"
"Shit!" I cringed as my face paled. Pushing him away from me a bit, I said, "It's a secret for obvious reasons. So, you cannot tell anyone!"
Raising an eyebrow James scoffed slightly, "Are you shitting me? Do I look like I want to lose my head? I know that the other bosses make fun of me for doing stupid things, but I'm not that idiotic! I'm not about to go openly talking about something that isn't my business, especially if it involves Dominic Calvetti."
I visibly relaxed and let out a sigh of relief. Smiling, he pushed me back down onto the bed before adding, "Besides, I hope Jade can fuck some of that tenseness out of him, that man is always so frigging uptight! I mean, I respect the shit out of him but damn, he needs to loosen up a bit!"
At his words, laughter erupted from my lips.
For all his playfulness, I knew that James admired Dominic immensely. He almost worshipped him and would do anything for the man.
The Calvetti mafia boss had helped Shane, James' father, and played an important role in helping to rebuild their family's business. After having lost their dominance in the United States back in the 1940's, the O'Doherty's had spent decades trying to get back on top.
When Dominic came to Aelbank City, it allowed their family to regain a lot of the footing they had lost. Around three years ago, Shane had retired, leaving James to take over the business. His grandfather Nolan, who had moved back to Ireland over a decade before, had been so happy to see the family name rise once again.
Sure, James may not always come across as the most serious out of all the mafia leaders. But even though he was the youngest and newest at the table, he always did his best and worked his ass off when it came to his family as well as the business. Shaking my thoughts, I refocused on the smiling man in front of me.
I could not help but admire the way James' damp hair slightly curled at the ends. My eyes then travelled to his lean and exposed torso as he hovered above me in only a towel, which he proceeded to quickly remove.
James then grinned as he settled between my thighs while gazing lovingly down at me. I noticed that the blue specks in his green eyes seemed to have an extra spark in them today.
"You can talk more with her later. Right now, I need you," he brought his lips to mine, silencing any further response as he kissed me ardently.
Burying my fingers in his golden-bronze hair, I moaned into James' mouth as our bodies melted into each other. As he pounded himself to me, I arched my back and cried out his name over and over. The way he made my body come alive every time he touched me was something I had become addicted to.
Later, when we were both spent with lazy smiles upon our faces, he rolled off of me and pulled me into an embrace, my body laying halfway on top of his.
We laid there for a while, basking in our orgasmic release, while enjoying the silence and just being in each other's company. I could hear the fast beating of his heart while his hands gently caressed the skin of my back, causing me to snuggle into him even more.
"Marry me," James suddenly said. Sputtering, I leaned up, my light brown eyes widening, "W-what?"
Laughing softly, he repeated, "Marry me."
"Are you serious?" I sat up even straighter now so that I could look down at him.
Nodding, he slowly leaned over the side of the bed. James then pulled out a brown wooden box with Celtic designs on the lid. It contained two guns, bullets, some stacks of cash, and a small Tiffany jewellery box.
At the sight of the custom 1837 Blue coloured box, my breath hitched.
Resting his back against the headboard of the bed, James looked at me as he said, "I wouldn't joke about something like this," while opening the small lid.
Shifting, I sat back on my heels, dumbfounded, as I stared at the meticulously designed six-prong round solitaire three carat diamond ring with a white gold band.
It was the exact ring I had always wanted! Right there and then, I knew that he must have asked Jade for advice. My best friend was awesome!
Also, I had to hand it to James, he scored massive points for including Jade in the process. It really showed me how much he cared about wanting to get me what I wanted while also surprising me.
Truth be told, he could have proposed with anything because I loved him and the ring itself did not really matter. But I would be lying if I said that gawking at that big shiny ring did not make me want to shriek with
excitement. It was even more beautiful than I had imagined it would be.
As I continued to stare at the ring, tears abruptly clouded my vision. "These last two years with you have been absolutely amazing," James started with a small smile, before he continued, "I know that neither of us
expected any deep feelings to develop when we first started having fun, but they did. I love you, Blaire, and I can't see you not being in my life! And
even though we may be two hot-heads, I think that we're perfectly suited for each other. I know that we only just moved in together, so we don't have to get married right away, we can stay engaged for a while."
James paused for a moment, watching as my left hand reached for his. He briefly glanced down to watch the way our fingers entwined. Smiling even more, he gave my hand a reassuring squeeze as he went on to say, "Will you do this Irishman the honour and become his wife? I promise to do my best to remember to replace the toilet paper and to keep you out of harm's way where the mafia side of things are concerned and–"
