Chapter 58 Happy Cooperation
Caroline looked up at him.
"What are you going to do?"
"Save the Collins Group, get rid of everyone who's disloyal to you, and make sure you have solid control going forward."
James said it casually, as if he was just talking about something completely ordinary.
That same afternoon, James had Iron Wolf bring people into the Collins Group.
He bought up all the shares the shareholders were dumping at three times market price, and directly injected capital to fill the Collins Group's funding gap.
The Collins Group, which had been on the verge of collapse, stabilized within half a day.
When the news got back to the Collins family, Landon was completely stunned.
He had already prepared himself for the company to go bankrupt and the Collins family to completely fall apart.
He never expected someone to suddenly invest heavily and take over all the shares, forcibly pulling the Collins Group back from the brink of closure.
After asking around, he learned that the person who stepped in was James.
Landon was both shocked and ashamed, aging several years overnight.
Early the next morning, he brought Gilbert and Daryl to James's villa to apologize.
The three of them stood at the door, their posture extremely humble, not even daring to breathe loudly.
When James opened the door and saw them, his expression was indifferent, showing no extra emotion.
"What is it?"
Landon quickly bowed, his tone carrying deep guilt and unease.
"Mr. Anderson, we were foolish before. We offended you and dragged Caroline down with us. We know we were wrong. This time, thanks to you stepping in to save the Collins Group, we have no way to repay you."
Gilbert and Daryl also quickly lowered their heads to admit their mistakes.
"Mr. Anderson, we were wrong. We'll never dare do it again."
James glanced at them, his tone calm and flat.
"I didn't save the Collins Group for you. I did it for Caroline."
The three of them tensed up, not daring to respond.
James continued.
"I can let you stay at the Collins Group, but from now on, all decision-making power in the company belongs to Caroline."
"You can only follow orders, not cause trouble, and especially not drag her down again."
Landon quickly nodded, not daring to complain.
"Yes, yes, yes! We agree! Everything will be up to Caroline! We'll definitely behave ourselves and never cause trouble again!"
Gilbert and Daryl also quickly agreed.
Though they felt unwilling inside, right now the Collins family was completely dependent on James—how could they dare say a word against it?
James couldn't be bothered to look at them anymore.
"Remember what you said today. If there's a next time, no one can save you."
"Yes, yes, yes! We'll remember!"
The three of them thanked him repeatedly and left the villa dejectedly.
On the way back, Daryl clenched his fists, his nails digging deep into his palms, his eyes hiding deep resentment.
If it weren't for Caroline, if it weren't for James, he should be the general manager of the Collins Group right now, riding high.
Now look at him—he'd become a stray dog, having to live by reading Caroline's face.
He would never let this go!
Over the next few days, Caroline threw herself completely into managing the company.
James stayed by her side the whole time, helping her strategize and helping her clear out the company's toxic elements.
Those employees who had previously sucked up to power and done half-hearted work were all fired by Caroline one by one.
The company's rules and regulations were also reestablished. Everything became orderly, and the company's operations became smoother and smoother.
A week later, Summit Holdings Corporation's bidding results were finally officially announced.
The winner was the Collins Group represented by Caroline. As soon as the news came out, the entire Silvermoon City business circle exploded.
The first to break down were the shareholders who had previously sold their shares, thinking Landon had offended Finn.
Now they were being told that Caroline had single-handedly secured the partnership project—didn't that mean they'd sold their shares for nothing?
Everyone was full of regret now.
Those suppliers who had previously been indifferent to the Collins Group or even deliberately avoided cooperation were completely dumbfounded.
In an instant, countless partnership calls flooded into the Collins Group. These businesspeople who had been so cold before were now just as enthusiastic.
When the news reached the Collins Group, the entire floor went quiet for a few seconds, then erupted in uncontrollable commotion.
The assistant clutched her phone and ran into Caroline's office, her voice trembling.
"Ms. Collins! We did it! We won the bid!"
Caroline was looking down at documents, and her pen suddenly stopped. When she looked up, her eyes were bright, her whole body frozen in her seat, not daring to move for a long time.
"Really? Is it real?"
Her voice trembled slightly. She'd been forcing herself to stay calm these past few days, but hearing the actual result, she still couldn't control her excitement.
This was the first time she'd independently handled such a major project—it was something she'd won with her own proposal, her own efforts.
The assistant nodded repeatedly, smiling from ear to ear.
"Really! It's posted on the official website, absolutely true!"
Caroline suddenly stood up, her hands trembling slightly, the excitement in her heart making even her nose tingle.
Almost instinctively, she grabbed her phone, her fingers barely obeying her as she dialed James's number.
The call was answered almost instantly.
"James."
As soon as she spoke, her tone carried undisguised joy and trembling.
"We won the bid. I secured the Summit Holdings Corporation project."
James laughed softly on the other end, not surprised at all, as if he'd known the result all along.
"I know."
Caroline paused.
"How are you not surprised at all?"
"You're so capable, you worked so hard on that proposal—winning the bid was inevitable. I knew it all along."
His voice was gentle, carrying undisguised affection.
"I've been waiting for you to share the good news with me."
Caroline's eyes grew hot, and she couldn't help but smile, her eyes curving into crescents.
"I really succeeded. I didn't mess it up."
"Yes, you did great."
James said warmly, "I'll pick you up tonight. We'll celebrate."
After hanging up, Caroline stood in her office holding her phone, looking out the window, her heart still pounding.
Soon, Finn came to the door personally with the contract.
When Caroline learned this news, she was somewhat surprised.
She hadn't expected Finn to come to the company personally to discuss the partnership with her.
Caroline went to the conference room where Finn was already waiting.
Beside him was a woman in business attire with a capable demeanor.
When Finn saw Caroline, he quickly stood up, his face showing a respectful smile.
"Ms. Collins, hello. Sorry to disturb you."
Caroline quickly responded.
"Mr. Moore, you're too kind. Please, have a seat."
After both sat down, Finn looked at Caroline, his tone respectful.
"Ms. Collins, I came personally this time because I want to discuss the details of the partnership between Summit Holdings Corporation and the Collins Group with you."
"I plan to partner with your company on all the projects from Summit Holdings Corporation's branch."
"I came this time to finalize the specific partnership plan with you."
Caroline was somewhat surprised—she hadn't expected Finn to give her so many projects.
However, she naturally wouldn't refuse such an excellent opportunity. She smiled and said,
"Thank you for your trust. Regarding the partnership, I'll follow your lead. However you arrange it, we'll cooperate accordingly."
