Chapter 183 Alaric's Heart Must Be Bleeding Now
Alaric walked out of the company, his eyes dark and gloomy.
Robert had already called the company's front desk, instructing them not to let Janet enter the building.
Janet was still filming.
She walked to Alaric's private elevator entrance, smiling brightly at the camera.
"This is the legendary CEO's private elevator. The employee elevators are over there, also very high-end and classy."
"Now follow my camera, and let's experience together what the difference is between riding the CEO's private elevator and a regular one."
After speaking, Janet reached out to press the elevator button.
At that moment, the elevator attendant standing at the entrance immediately blocked her hand.
The receptionist also quickly came over to stop her.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Martin, filming is not allowed here."
Janet's smile froze, but she quickly recovered it.
"Then let's go to the employee elevator."
The receptionist directly blocked Janet's path, her expression somewhat serious.
"Ms. Martin, filming is prohibited in our company. Please leave."
Janet took a deep breath, looking at the staff member with dissatisfaction.
"I already spoke with your Mr. Hughes earlier, and Alaric agreed to let me film."
"You!"
Just as she was about to lose her temper, several staff members came running out of the employee elevator carrying an unconscious employee.
At the same time, an ambulance siren sounded outside the Hughes Group office building.
Cordelia quickly got down from the ambulance and rushed straight into the Hughes Group building with her colleagues.
Alaric's car had just driven out of the garage when he saw Cordelia in her white coat, hurriedly entering the company carrying a stretcher.
His expression darkened, and he immediately told Robert to stop the car.
The staff members saw the emergency medical personnel and immediately placed the unconscious employee on the stretcher.
Cordelia checked him right away and found he was in cardiac arrest.
She immediately knelt on the stretcher to perform CPR on him.
The patient's colleague anxiously recounted the situation to Cordelia.
Cordelia gave it her all during the rescue, and soon her forehead was covered in sweat.
"Back to the ambulance, use the AED."
Hearing Cordelia's words, the medical staff immediately pushed the stretcher outside.
Cordelia continued performing CPR on the patient while on the stretcher.
Her attention was entirely on the patient, and she didn't even notice Alaric rushing into the company.
Alaric watched Cordelia rescuing his employee on the stretcher, his eyes intense.
"What happened?"
He immediately asked the nearby employee.
The employee quickly said, "I don't know if he collapsed from exhaustion over the project."
Alaric frowned tightly and said in a deep voice.
"No project is more important than one's health."
"You all go back to your positions. I'm going to the hospital."
After speaking, he noticed Janet and her cameraman were still there, and his expression immediately darkened.
"Why haven't they left yet?"
Hearing this, Janet's expression stiffened.
The receptionist quickly responded, "Mr. Hughes, I'll have them leave right away."
In the end, Janet and her cameraman were "escorted" out of the Hughes Group by security.
When they left, Robert even had someone buy the equipment from Janet's cameraman and delete the videos they had recorded.
Janet absent-mindedly returned to her car.
The cameraman beside her soon came over, his face showing a smug smile.
"My equipment is synced to my phone. The video we just recorded has a backup."
Janet had been upset about losing the footage, but hearing the cameraman's words, she instantly perked up.
She took the cameraman's phone and found the part where she and Alaric were talking quietly.
She had performed very well, both her expressions and movements were very natural.
Although Alaric had a cold face, the distance in his eyes wasn't very obvious.
She could add some text later and edit it a bit, and fans wouldn't notice Alaric's cold expression.
"Use this video as the opening, then we'll go to the Hughes Group's branch to film the interior."
Janet's face showed a smile, not noticing the subtle change in the cameraman's expression.
In the ambulance, Cordelia used the AED to rescue the patient.
Other medical staff fully cooperated with her. In emergency treatment of cardiac arrest patients, there's only a golden four-minute window. After ten minutes, the patient would be brain dead.
Throughout the process, Cordelia and her colleagues didn't dare slack off.
After three minutes.
"Got it, got it."
The patient's heartbeat returned, and Cordelia and her colleagues breathed a sigh of relief.
After arriving at the hospital, they immediately pushed the patient into the emergency room for treatment.
Fortunately, after the patient's colleague noticed the patient showing uncomfortable symptoms, they immediately called for emergency help. Plus, the Hughes Group had a medical office, which created precious rescue time.
After coming out of the emergency room, Cordelia finally had time to drink some water.
Hearing from colleagues that Alaric had visited the patient's room, Cordelia nodded casually.
Alaric had always been very serious and responsible about work matters.
Now that an employee from the Hughes Group headquarters was in trouble, both emotionally and logically, he should come visit.
After chatting with colleagues for a bit, Cordelia returned to her office.
She had just sat down when Alaric appeared at her office door, asking about his employee's condition.
"Currently, vital signs are stable. He needs to stay in the hospital for observation for a few days."
"The patient collapsed due to long-term high-intensity work and frequent all-nighters."
Cordelia looked up at Alaric sitting across from her, her tone serious.
"While work is important, good health is the foundation. Whether it's you or your employees, health should come first. Don't neglect your body for work."
Cordelia's voice was a bit hoarse from talking constantly in the emergency room earlier.
She cleared her throat.
Seeing this, Alaric also said quietly.
"You should also pay attention to rest."
Cordelia paused for a moment, then nodded lightly.
Seeing her calm expression, Alaric thought of last night's unpleasantness, so he stood up from his chair. "If there's any change in his condition, please let me know."
Cordelia nodded.
Alaric walked to the door, then stopped and turned to look at Cordelia.
"The bracelet on Amber's hand?"
Cordelia was holding a medical report. Hearing this, she looked up at Alaric and responded calmly.
"I took it off."
Alaric asked, "Did you throw it away?"
Cordelia looked at him quietly. "Do you want it back?"
She didn't directly answer his question.
Alaric was silent for a few seconds. "Amber called me this morning saying the bracelet was missing, so I was just asking. No other meaning."
Cordelia nodded, without much response.
Alaric also acted indifferent and left Cordelia's office.
Both parties appeared calm, but Robert on the side was shocked by what he heard.
Alaric had spent a long time and effort on that bracelet, revising the design many times to create an exact replica.
Unexpectedly, after he gave it away, Cordelia threw it away?
This was worse than a long-pursued project falling through.
Alaric's heart must be bleeding right now, right?
