Chapter 137 I’m still in love with you
Juana and Alejandro excused themselves for a while, and when they returned, they began to accuse Giovanni.

“No. We stayed with Wade when he had nothing, and because you want to make him rich, you want to cut us off?” They were indirectly making their intentions clear but Giovanni corrected them.

“Wade is already rich. He doesn’t need me,” he asserted, but the couple refused to believe it. “No, we can’t lose him.”

“You fed him lies, blackmailed him emotionally, making him do everything that you want. In other words, he was your slave.”

“But we chose him over our son. That is true,” they argued. Giovanni was saddened by their level of shamelessness. Even after the document in front of them exposed everything, they were still lying.

“That child had brain cancer. The chances were slim, and you were ashamed of the intersex part. Because you wanted a boy, you called it so, but it was too early to determine which gender it would grow into,” Giovanni revealed. Instead of showing remorse, they became violent.

“You have no right to dig into confidential matters. The child was ours, not yours, and unlike you, we don’t have a perfect life. We struggled with childbirth. Do you know how it feels to get pregnant and give birth to that kind of a child? How was I to introduce him?” Alejandro argued, rising to his feet.

“I did what I had to do, and I won’t allow you to gaslight me.”

“No, I’m not gaslighting you. My intention in bringing it up is to clarify the fact that you didn’t choose Wade over your child. You threw your child to the vultures because he was worthless to you, and I won’t have you blame Wade for it.”

“You didn’t save Wade because you love him. You saved him because you saw more profit in him than a sick, intersex child,” Giovanni exposed them harshly.

The truth hurt, but what hurts even more was the fact that the cat is out of the bag. “So what do you want by bringing it up?” Juana asked, her countenance falling.

“Good, from today, you will stop the emotional blackmail because if you don’t stay away from Wade, I’m going to show him the truth about that child, Sylvester. So, what do you choose?”

By the time they left the Thomas’s residence, Roger was still dissatisfied. He wanted them bedridden for badmouthing his sister, but the end was soothing.

The Thomas’s were bankrupt, and thankfully, Wade was no longer going to be their victim.

When the trio arrived in Mexico, Salvador Rodrigue seemed to be expecting them. Not ready to die or have his family entangled in the mess, he met them at the airport.

“It’s useless to make such a journey for trivial information,” he informed them. Roger asked him, “Which other way did you expect us to get what we are looking for?”

“You are right, but the culprit is right in front of you. You didn’t have to come here.”

The trio could not think about anyone among their close click being the culprit, so Roger refused to play his game. “There are a lot of people in front of us, so give us a name.”

“I was paid to not mention names, but if you look closely, you will find what you are looking for.”

Roger leaned in, but Salvador could feel the cold mouth of a revolver pressed to his side. “You can keep that money and lose your life for it, but trust me, I won’t leave without draining the life out of every family you hold dear. Give me the name,” he demanded in a cold, calm, tone. Salvador was at a loss.

He was just thirty-nine, and the leader of the most powerful gang. However, the last call he received from one of his members before he died informed him of how Roger had killed seventy percent of his gang members.

Not only that, he was also informed that Roger was coming for him, and that was how he had been expecting him every single day. “Lexi Smith.”

Roger doubted it. Lexi was a slippery one but was she so cold hearted? “Are you sure about this?”

“You want to see our chats and bank transactions?”

It has been three days since Roger, Giovanni, and Hank returned from Mexico. Roger still could not get over how evil Lexi had turned out.

Giovanni wanted to handle it because of his friendship with Robert, Lexi’s father, but Roger refused, feeling that his father would be moved with sympathy in the name of friendship.

One evening, he stormed the Smith’s mansion. No one knew how he entered without raising suspicions. Even the security guards were clueless.

Roger decided to invite himself to dinner with his enemies, and both father and daughter didn’t know how to feel about it.

“Roger, you broke into our house, and that is a crime,” Robert spoke calmly, cutting elegantly into his steak.

Roger was calm, his voice soft, but firm. “I’m here for your daughter,” he revealed, Lexi froze before relaxing.

Salvador’s landmark was confidentiality, and he couldn’t have thrown her under the bus, but that was until she received an alert.

The money she sent to Salvador had been returned with a simple ‘sorry.’

Lexi was trembling from fear but forcefully calmed herself, trying to make light of the matter. “Roger, are you divorcing Karen? I’m still in love with you.”
