Chapter 366 This Organization Is Too Terrifying
The meeting was indeed in an absolutely safe place, just as Flora had expected.
At the end of the fourth-floor hallway, there was a painting. She watched with her own eyes as Nason touched a switch on the painting, and then the wall turned into a door. Nason led her inside.
Flora cursed silently to herself. No wonder she hadn't found anything unusual during all her time at Star Creation, and Roy outside with his team of technicians hadn't discovered any problems with Star Creation's accounts either.
Turns out all the shady stuff was hidden in here!
Flora looked around with a curious expression, but Nason pinched her hard. Nason looked at her warningly, "Behave yourself, don't look around. We have to be extremely careful here. We can only enter the meeting room on the first level. You don't have permission to know about the places beyond. Here, curiosity is the last thing you want. Watch your damn life!"
Flora jumped in fright and quickly stood properly, saying obediently, "I understand, thank you for the warning. I apologize for being too forard."
Entering from the fourth floor, inside it seemed to become the first floor. There was an elevator ahead, displaying 1234, so there should be four levels total.
The meeting room was on the left. Flora didn't even have the right to go look at the elevator.
Much less know what was on those floors the elevator led to. Her job was simply to keep her mouth shut and follow every single order she was given.
She put on a meek and obedient appearance, following behind Nason, and walked into the meeting room.
The meeting room was already full of people. Nason arrived last, and as soon as she entered, someone said coldly, "Nason, who the hell do you think you are, making all of us wait for you?"
Nason, who was so arrogant outside, was now sweating profusely in the meeting room, saying nervously, "Mr. Wells, after Miller got arrested, I had a bit too much work on my hands So I promoted an assistant. I was just giving her some pointers earlier and came late. Please don't blame me."
Flora calmly surveyed the meeting room. It was large, decorated in brown tones, with many people sitting around a long conference table. This surprised her a bit. She had originally thought Nason was already high-level at Star Creation, but she didn't expect that in here, Nason was the most insignificant thing.
All the people in here were the hidden support pillars behind Star Creation. A mere Nason was just a clown they pushed to the front, a pawn in someone else's game.
At the head of the conference table sat a tall man with a scar between his eyebrows. The man had a bandit-like air about him, looking like someone not to be messed with.
The one who had just criticized Nason was sitting next to the scarred man. Nason called him Mr. Wells, so he should have quite a high position here, perhaps second only to that scarred man.
Flora only looked up briefly, but had already taken in the entire situation of the meeting room and formed some guesses. Still, she obediently stood behind Nason, looking nervous and uneasy.
Wells heard Nason's words and looked toward Flora. Flora smiled nervously and bowed to him.
Wells could naturally tell that Nason had promoted someone from the trainees. Nason had done this kind of thing several times before. Though Nason was a bit lustful, he was still quite useful, so Wells generally turned a blind eye to such things.
Wells glanced at Nason and said coldly, "Make sure you explain everything she needs to know clearly, and keep her alert. Don't let it be like the previous times, with those worthless things that I had to clean up after you!"
Nason nodded repeatedly, "I know, I know."
Only after Wells nodded did Nason glance at Flora, indicating she should follow him to sit at the very end.
Wells looked respectfully at the scarred man in the head seat, "Mr. Reed, everyone's here, we can start now."
The scarred man's gaze swept darkly over everyone at the conference table before he spoke, "Miller got arrested, and the company suffered heavy losses this time. To avoid the police finding any clues, we destroyed three account books alone. Besides that, we also dealt with some uncooperative colleagues. I'm very sad about this happening, after all, they were subordinates I personally promoted. Disposing of their bodies wasn't my intention."
The atmosphere in the meeting room was silent and tense. Flora didn't even dare to breathe heavily. If she wasn't mistaken, the scarred man meant that during this investigation of Star Creation, he had killed quite a few potential problems.
This man had blood on his hands, and not just a little bit. He was an absolutely dangerous character.
"To make up for our losses as quickly as possible, we need to speed up the previous trainee training plan and push them out soon. Those big clients can't wait anymore. Two months ago, people kept urging me, saying they needed fresh blood."
Someone who seemed to be specifically in charge of the secret transactions involving trainees nodded respectfully upon hearing the scarred man's words, "I understand, Mr. Reed."
Flora listened with a racing heart. She had originally thought Star Creation was at most an exploitative company, signing unfair contracts with those girls, forcing them to entertain clients for profit, while making money from breach-of-contract fees.
But at this moment, she suddenly realized she might have thought too well of Star Creation.
Given the scarred man's nature revealed so far, the so-called big clients needing fresh blood might not be as simple as the literal meaning suggested.
Connecting this to the multiple lives on the scarred man's hands, she seriously suspected that Star Creation's so-called trainee debut plan was related to illegal crimes like human trafficking and organ trading.
If that was true, it would be terrifying.
This was Majestic City, after all.
A media company openly doing such things for over a decade without being noticed.
This in itself implied many unspeakable things.
After arranging matters regarding the trainees, the scarred man looked at another meeting attendee and said, "Previously, Miller failed to trick that woman called Faye in, and instead got played by her. Although Miller was unlucky, if we just let this go, it will disappoint many of our brothers."
"Find time to make a personal trip, bring that woman back, and let the brothers do whatever they want with her. However the brothers want to vent, let them vent."
"Yes, Mr. Reed."
Then the scarred man slowly looked around and said, "Previously, Arabella's contract was tampered with, we lost our leverage over her, and our carefully designed trap was completely useless. Our media company side can be said to have been of no help whatsoever to the chairman, so this quarter's bonuses are temporarily withheld. Does anyone have any objections?"
Everyone indicated they had no objections.
Hearing the familiar name, Flora was secretly shocked by Alexander's sharp insight—he had guessed almost everything.
From luring Arabella into signing the contract to getting Faye involved, all of this was meant to control Arabella.
Too bad they failed. Thank goodness they failed.
This was a terrifying organization. Their terror didn't lie in their cruelty—in fact, Flora had seen many situations more cruel than theirs. But the key issue was that this was Majestic City.
This incident was serious enough. She was extremely glad at this moment that she had hooked Nason and become one of them.
If this cancer wasn't removed quickly, who knew how many innocent families would be torn apart.
