Chapter 3 Don’t Ever Regret It
He decided to wait and see what would happen first.
"Anthony, since you're back, let's make up for the three years you weren't home." Michael said with a smile.
Alice also greeted Anthony with a smile: "My dear son, let mom get a good look at you."
Now that he knew the truth, hearing them talk like this only made Anthony feel disgusted.
He frowned, found a random seat and sat down. Just as he was about to ask about his biological parents, a message popped up on his phone.
It was from Annie, saying she was hosting a party tonight to celebrate his release from prison and inviting him to attend.
Back in prison, Annie's father had insisted on arranging an engagement between them, saying he wanted to marry his daughter to him. He even had Annie agree to the engagement in person during one of her prison visits.
Tonight would be a good chance to explain things to Annie in person.
With this thought, he replied: "Okay."
Just as he sent the message, the butler suddenly came to report: "Madam, Ms. Theresa Gervin from the Gervin family is here, saying she wants to see Mr. Anthony Bruce."
"Theresa?" Anthony was a bit surprised. He didn't expect her to come so quickly.
Before he went to prison, he and Theresa from the Gervin family were preparing to get married.
During his three years in prison, Anthony had dreamed that Theresa would come visit him.
But in the end, he was completely disappointed.
Unexpectedly, just after getting out of prison, she had come to his home.
Thinking this, Anthony sat still without moving.
But looking at Michael and Alice, they had already jumped to their feet in a hurry.

"Anthony, what are you doing! Ms. Gervin came to see you right after you got out of prison. Shouldn't you go greet her?"
Anthony shrugged: "Excited? What's there to be excited about?"
"I was in prison for three years and she never visited me. Now that I'm just out, she shows up at the door. You think she's here to build connections with you guys?"
Alice fell silent: "This..."
"You people think you're worthy of connections with me?"
A tall, fair-skinned beauty with long blonde hair, surrounded by four bodyguards in black, appeared at the door, interrupting Alice's words.
The beauty was in her early twenties, with an arrogant look on her face.
After arriving at the door, she coldly scanned the room.
Finally, her gaze landed on Anthony.
Anthony sat on the sofa with his arms crossed.
He didn't even glance at the uninvited Theresa at the door.
This made Theresa extremely uncomfortable.
She had thought that with her grand arrival, Anthony, who had spent three years in prison, would be crazy with excitement.
Once he showed that kind of reaction, she could humiliate him properly.
But the scene she expected and anticipated didn't happen.
Theresa's face darkened and she snorted coldly.
"Anthony, is this how a murderer treats me?"
He must be pretending to be reserved. She wanted to see how Anthony would beg her later!
Seeing Anthony like this, Alice couldn't help but scold: "Anthony, who gave you permission to treat Ms. Gervin like this? She's your future wife. Apologize to her right now!"
Theresa sneered: "No need. I came today to break off the engagement with Anthony."
"What, break off the engagement?"
Michael and Alice were stunned.
Just moments ago, they were fantasizing about using Anthony's fiancée connection to latch onto the Gervin family and secure the development rights for the Amber District project.
Seeing their plan about to fall through, Michael looked completely unwilling to accept it.
"Ms. Gervin, you two are already engaged. How can your Gervin family just break it off like this? Isn't this too reckless?"
Theresa laughed coldly: "When we got engaged with your family, we thought the Bruce family could develop together with the Gervin family."
"But over these three years, not only has the Bruce family made no progress, your status has been declining. What's more, Anthony is a murderer. I would never marry such a loser!"
"I came here today to break off the engagement with him."
Anthony slowly stood up: "You're sure you want to cancel the engagement with me?"

"What's there to be unsure about? Over these three years, the Gervin family has successfully joined the ranks of major families. We're about to reach a hundred-million-dollar deal with the famous Campbell Group, and just received an invitation from Ms. Annie Campbell to attend tonight's party welcoming an important person."
"And these things, even if you work yourselves to death, you'll never get!"
"To be blunt, Anthony, we're already people from two different worlds now. There's no need for us to be together anymore. Today, my purpose is very clear—I'm here to break off the engagement with you. Right now, immediately."
Anthony readily agreed: "Fine, but I hope you won't regret it tonight."
