Chapter 116: Give You a House

Chapter 116: Give You a House

"What, he actually said there's no need to ask his opinion?"

Someone in the crowd couldn't hold back and blurted out.

Isabelle paused slightly, stepped forward half a step, and looked at Anthony with a serious expression.

"Mr. Bruce, are you angry?" She lowered her head slightly. "As the CEO of Tequila Real Estate Development, I sincerely apologize to you. Please don't be upset—if there's anything we did wrong, just point it out."

Seeing her being so respectful, everyone around looked even more shocked.

"That's weird, right?" A bystander lowered his voice. "Why is Ms. Isabelle being so polite to this adopted son of the Bruce family?"

"He's just a criminal who just got out of prison. Is he really worth Ms. Isabelle treating him this well?"

The speaker was a pudgy middle-aged man.

Before he finished speaking, someone nearby immediately shot back with a frown: "Fuck, if she wants to be polite to Mr. Bruce, that's her freedom—if you're so capable, why don't you get Ms. Isabelle to treat you this well too?"

That one sentence shut him up. The fat man backed off awkwardly and obediently closed his mouth.

With a thud, Armand dropped to his knees again, his kneecaps hitting the floor. He looked up at Isabelle, his voice trembling: "Ms. Isabelle, considering I've worked for the company all these years and contributed something—could you let me off the hook and not send me to jail?"

Isabelle looked down at him, her lips curling into a cold smile: "Precisely because you're a veteran employee, you should have done your job properly and treated the company's trust as your duty. But look at what you've done."

Armand's mouth twitched, his throat tightened, and he couldn't spit out another word.

He knew perfectly well—Isabelle would never let him go, even if he kowtowed until his head broke open.

After all, she had just said it clearly in front of everyone: what angered her most was that he had offended her distinguished guest.

But he never expected that this abandoned child kicked out by the Bruce family, even though he had just gotten out of prison, could still make Isabelle speak to him so gently.

"Ms. Isabelle..." The words he squeezed out trembled incoherently. "Are you really not leaving any room for mercy?"

Isabelle's gaze didn't soften one bit. She said crisply: "That's right."

She turned her head and raised her chin at the security guards behind her: "Do it."

Armand's face turned pale. A scream burst from his throat, his eyes rolled back, and he passed out cold.

Just now, his anxiety had gotten to him—once he was really taken away, his life would be completely over. Despair washed over him like a tide, making him scream and literally scare himself unconscious.

Rihanna, standing nearby, witnessed all this. Her legs went weak, and she actually wet her pants from fear.

She was still young. After this incident, her reputation was completely ruined.

She had latched onto this old man, hoping to cash in on wealth and luxury, but instead got dragged into the mud.

Bottom line, this old thing was just bad luck.

And she had actually treated him as her support, as her entire hope for a better future—

Back then, she must have been blind...

"Poppy," Orion said in a hushed voice, still looking shaken, "never dreamed things could turn out like this."

"As soon as your male classmate showed up, our crisis was solved."

Listening to her father's sigh, Poppy also felt a surge of gratitude.

She looked at Anthony, her eyes filled with admiration.

Although her emotions had been all over the place just now, and she felt like she and he were from two different worlds, she was still proud to know and like Anthony.

Even if he didn't like her back, there was nothing she could do about it...

As the father and daughter were quietly reflecting, Isabelle had finished handling the scene. She turned to face everyone and raised her hand.

"Sorry for making everyone witness our company cutting off the rot and cleaning house."

"From now on, we'll treat every customer with better service, and please feel free to supervise us anytime."

"Also, to my distinguished guest Mr. Bruce, I feel deeply apologetic—he came to buy a house and ran into this ridiculous situation, which is exactly why I'm so furious."

"Otherwise, since Armand is a veteran employee, I could have been lenient."

"But he went after my person. Even though he's kneeling and begging for mercy, there's absolutely no forgiveness—he must be dealt with severely..."

Hearing this, everyone immediately picked up on the subtext, looking confused.

"Hey, why does Ms. Isabelle value Anthony so much? What's the deal? How did an abandoned son of the Bruce family become her distinguished guest and honored guest?"

"If you ask me, Ms. Isabelle probably has her eye on this handsome young man, right?"

"It's a man-woman thing. No matter how outrageous, it's not that unusual. No matter how far apart their status, it can't resist the iron law of attraction between the sexes."

The onlookers chattered away, all guessing that Ms. Isabelle had taken a fancy to this abandoned son.

Some were more observant and saw something else.

"Hey, didn't you notice? When Anthony came just now, he was standing up for that girl buying the house."

"Now Ms. Isabelle is standing up for Anthony—there you go, a love triangle right there."

One sentence, and it clicked for everyone.

"Haha, right, right! Came to look at a house and ran into such a dramatic scene..."

Everyone got more and more into it, each making their own guesses.

Isabelle caught all the chatter, but didn't take it to heart. She raised her hand, making a gesture for silence. Once the noise died down, she spoke, her gaze steadily fixed on Anthony.

"Please be quiet. I have something important to announce—I've decided to gift my distinguished guest a luxury suite as compensation for neglecting him earlier."

"Give away a house? A luxury suite?" A suited onlooker gasped, eyes wide. "That top-floor unit is listed at seven figures minimum—Ms. Isabelle is giving it away without even blinking?"

"No kidding," someone nearby smiled bitterly and shook his head. "I saved for most of my life and barely scraped together a down payment. And look at her making this move..."

"Sigh," someone else muttered under their breath, "compared to this Anthony, my whole life of struggling feels like a joke."

A young man in his early twenties suddenly clenched his fists and shouted: "Screw hard work! Can Ms. Isabelle give me a house too? I'll quit my job right now!"

What he got in return was merciless laughter from the whole room.

"Haha, bro, go stand in line!" Someone laughed until they doubled over. "At the very least, you'd need a decent face first, right? Ugly as you are and still dreaming about a female CEO giving you a house? You're dreaming!"
