Chapter 114: This Is Evidence of Your Guilt
Chapter 114: This Is Evidence of Your Guilt
Armand's plan was truly vicious — not only did he want to use her as a scapegoat, he had also slapped her across the face.
Rihanna exploded with rage. She let out a scream and launched herself at Armand like a wild animal that had been pushed too far.
"You shameless bastard — you took advantage of me, promised to protect me, and this is how you protect me?"
"You want to make me your scapegoat and beat me on top of that? I'm going to fight you to the end."
Rihanna came at him clawing and scratching, and she was no pushover.
In the blink of an eye, she raked her nails across Armand's face, leaving it covered in bloody scratches.
Armand, his face streaked with blood, couldn't hold back a cry of pain.
"Ah, you little bitch! How dare you attack me — where are the security guards? Security! Get over here and restrain her!"
He had just held a security meeting with these guards, telling them to step up their patrols.
Right now, all of them were standing right behind him.
But after Armand gave the order, not a single guard moved to restrain Rihanna.
He was completely baffled. He turned around and looked at them.
Every one of them had a blank, indifferent expression on their face.
Some of them, the moment they felt his eyes on them, immediately looked away and refused to meet his gaze.
Armand was furious — he had completely lost it.
But it didn't take him long to figure out why. The guards hadn't moved because Isabelle was there.
With Isabelle present, Armand was not the highest-ranking person in the sales center.
The guards would only act if Isabelle gave the word.
After all, it was Isabelle who paid their salaries, not Armand the sales manager.
If they acted and Isabelle blamed them for it, that would be a serious problem.
That was exactly what the guards had figured out, which was why none of them had moved.
On top of that, they all knew about the mess between the manager and Rihanna.
Honestly, what their sales manager had done was pretty low, and it was no surprise Rihanna had turned on him.
For all these reasons, the guards kept their silence in a way they never had before, and not one of them would look at him.
Watching this play out, Armand looked mortified, his face turning as red as a boiled shrimp.
He stumbled around trying to deal with Rihanna, who was still wild-eyed and coming at him without letting up.
It pushed him completely over the edge.
In a fit of rage, Armand swung his hand and slapped Rihanna hard enough to knock her to the ground.
Only then did he let out a long breath.
He wiped the blood off his face and turned to look at Isabelle with an ugly expression.
"Ms. Isabelle, I..."
Isabelle's face darkened, her expression turning ice cold.
"You what? Armand, as the manager of this sales center, you got tangled up with this female employee and turned this whole place into a complete mess."
"You've been treating this sales center like your own personal kingdom. You've got some nerve, Armand."
Hearing Isabelle's anger, and realizing that every word she said had hit him right where it hurt, Armand was so shocked he nearly jumped out of his skin.
The last thing he had expected was for Isabelle to already know about his situation with Rihanna.
"This... this..."
Armand's expression kept shifting as panic rose inside him.
At that moment, he had no idea what Isabelle — known for her strict management style — was going to do with him.
All his earlier boldness was completely gone.
He lowered his head and was about to say something apologetic, planning to explain to Isabelle that all of this had been the female employee's doing — she had been the one throwing herself at him. How could any man be expected to resist that? Surely Isabelle would understand his situation if he explained it that way.
But before he could even get his apology out, Isabelle let out a cold snort and made her decision on the spot.
"Armand, as the manager of Tequila Real Estate Sales Center, you have neglected your duties, failed to focus on the business, and shown that you are simply not fit to hold this position."
"You are hereby dismissed, effective immediately."
"What? I'm fired?"
Hearing Isabelle's announcement, Armand looked like he had been struck by lightning. His face went dark as charcoal.
He had worked so hard for so many years to finally get promoted to sales center manager, and now he was being fired over this?
What would his family, his friends, and everyone around him think?
Everything he had right now came from holding this position.
Once he was dismissed, he would lose all of it.
The only reason Rihanna had thrown herself at him and kept chasing after him was because he had real power in his hands.
And now, with Isabelle's announcement, all of that was gone.
Armand couldn't accept it.
The shock stayed frozen on his face for a full five seconds before he collapsed to his knees on the floor with a thud.
"Isabelle, please, give me one more chance. I've been with this company for years — through all the tough times, I stuck with it and kept pushing forward."
"I worked my way up to become sales manager."
"If I get fired, honestly, I'll be back to square one overnight. I'll have nothing."
Even as the man knelt on the floor begging, Isabelle's expression didn't change.
"Armand, do you really think that just kneeling down and begging is enough to get you off the hook for what you've done?"
Those words hit Armand like a bucket of cold water.
He wasn't stupid. He immediately caught what Isabelle was implying.
"Just kneeling isn't enough to escape the consequences?"
Shaken, he couldn't help but ask right then and there.
"Ms. Isabelle, what exactly do you mean by that?"
"What do I mean? Since you're not sure, let me spell it out for you..."
As she spoke, Isabelle glanced over at Anthony.
Anthony's expression was calm and unreadable. He stood with his arms crossed, not looking at anyone, just tilting his head back and staring at the ceiling.
"Armand, do you know why I came here today?"
The question caught Armand off guard.
"Ms. Isabelle, didn't you just say you came to inspect and review the work?"
Isabelle waved her hand. "That was just an excuse."
"What — just an excuse?" Armand looked stunned.
He had no idea what Isabelle meant by that.
"Then what is your real reason for being here, Ms. Isabelle?"
Armand felt like his brain had turned to mush.
Isabelle held out her hand, and her female assistant immediately handed her a thick stack of documents.
Isabelle took them and held them up in front of Armand with a serious look on her face.
"Take a good look at these. This is all the evidence showing how you and Rihanna — the finance staff member you promoted — worked together to pocket benefits and steal from the company."
