A new Sophie is emerging

**SOPHIE MADSON’S POV**

The next day, I was at the house where I had lived for so long. Everything about my mother would be sorted out in a few days to arrange her burial, and I was being medicated with a lot of painkillers. Even though some sudden movements were still evident, it was less painful than the previous night due to the amount of medication, so I was ready to do what I wanted.

I left the house, and the driver, always ready as a good professional, opened the car door, and I got in, indicating a different address this time. I was going to that neighborhood where there was a community of drug addicts.

"Are you sure, ma'am?" he asked, concerned.

"Absolutely, but first, stop by my bank," I replied.

He agreed, and that's what we did. I went to the bank and withdrew a sum of money. I have a good amount saved because I've always been frugal. We headed to the address, but before that, I asked him to stop at a store in that neighborhood. Since everything was illegal, I bought a gun quickly. I hadn't handled one of those before, but I would learn today in the best way possible.

When I arrived at the house where those wandering zombies were, many fled, but I managed to attract one. I offered money and asked them to take that bastard called Madson to an alley nearby, giving even more money so he wouldn't say who sent him.

I went to the place, my breath heavy and nervous. Then I heard voices, and shortly after, I saw him appear there with the man who had taken the money, but I was facing away, deduced by the sound.

"Daughter, what do I owe this visit to? You remembered you have a father," he said.

I turned to face him and immediately pointed the gun at him, causing him to raise his hands in fear, his eyes wide with fright as he stared down the barrel.

"Are you scared, Daddy?" I asked ironically.

"Sophie, this isn't something you do to a father," he replied, trying to reason.

"I'm not going to kill you! I'm not like you," I said.

He lowered his hands, apparently more at ease knowing I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that because death was too easy for what he deserved; it was too easy to do something and then die immediately. Hell, it should be right here.

"Ah, good dear, I..." he began, but I didn't let him finish before I shot him in the leg. I held him tightly, and I think I was so eager to do it that I shot accurately.

"AHHHH... Sophie, don't...damn!" he screamed in pain.

"Oops, sorry...missed the spot!" I said sarcastically before shooting again, hitting the same leg. He fell wounded and groaning in agony. I felt such great satisfaction, aiming to shatter only a few bones in his leg so that he would feel pain for a long time, and if he managed to recover, he would still be suffering.

I approached him and looked at the worm writhing on the ground; at that moment, he was not a father to me in any way. I watched with satisfaction.

"This is a warning of how it will be now. I won't show mercy if you dare to show up in my life again. I'll kill you!" I warned him.

After delivering the message, I left him there screaming in pain. I put the gun back in my bag and then headed towards the car, still feeling the pain but bearable. I got into the car and looked outside; many men were looking towards the alley, and the driver immediately drove away.

Now I had something to do, and dealing with my father was more accessible because of the place he frequented, where there weren't many laws, and, mainly, because he was a nobody. I wanted to do the same to that wretch, but it wouldn't be possible yet. However, I wanted to get back at her in a slower and more planned way. But I would only rest once I did what I had in mind.

I headed to Steven's house, the house where he took that woman against everyone's will. Just a few days ago, I had hoped she wouldn't show up there, but now things were very different. I wanted her to be there because it would save me the trouble of looking for her.

When he parked the car, I looked at the house. My eyes were burning with such hatred I felt inside. The driver opened the door and helped me out. I wasn't a hundred percent, but even if I had just one percent, I wouldn't give up on what I was about to do now.

I walked through the house, and the staff member told me I needed information.

"Where's Mrs. Wolker?" I asked hurriedly.

"She went to the church, ma'am," she replied.

As I imagined, that was even better because I wouldn't have done this without her being there. My respect for her went beyond, but I would be missing from her house for a little while this morning.

"Where's that woman, Nathaly?" Speaking her name made me feel nauseous, but I needed to know.

She confirmed she would be in the guest room, and I followed her there. When she indicated the door, I knocked and waited for the viper to open it.

"Good morning, dear, I—" She began as she opened the door, and there I was, face to face with her. I looked her over, imagining what I wanted to do to her, but it wasn't possible there. She tried to close the door, but I was quick, preventing her from doing so, and quickly approached, grabbing her hair with all the force I had, ignoring any pain I might be feeling.

"Stop... you crazy woman!" she screamed, trying to break free, but I didn't allow it. All this strength I managed to muster came from the hurt I was feeling inside.

When she finally managed to break free, she staggered until she fell to the ground, and I took advantage, sitting on top of her as she lay there and grabbed her chin. She stretched out her hands, trying to hit me, but I managed to deflect all her attempts with my free hand.

"This is just a taste of what you deserve!" I said, delivering a slap so hard that my hand started to hurt, but I didn't care. Her face immediately turned, and she whimpered.

"This one's for my son, you wretch!" I said, delivering another slap, turning her face to the opposite side. She struggled, but I had already gotten into a good defensive position, preventing her from escaping.

"This one's for my mother, you bitch!"

Then I punched her, this time hitting her nose squarely, causing blood to flow from it immediately. She screamed.

"This one's for me and all your lies!"

After the punch, she started crying. I got off her, and the pain consumed me, causing me to put my hand on my belly, observing that wretched woman still on the ground, struggling to sit up and looking dizzy. At that moment, I heard someone entering hurriedly, and when I looked back, Steven was standing there with wide eyes, looking at the scene.

"Have you come to defend your luxury doll?" I sneered. "She destroyed the people I loved most in my life."

I screamed in pain, leaning my body a little, and he tried to help me, but I made a point of pushing his hands away from my body. I moved away, heading towards the door, feeling a little weak.

"She's crazy; I don't know what she's talking about," he tried to play his part.

"Speak up, beauty... tell your lies so this fool can fall for them," I yelled from my vantage point.

"I feel humiliated!" she claimed.

"And I feel alone!" I said, grimacing from the immense pain I was feeling. Looking at Steven, it was clear that he didn't immediately come to her defense this time. His gaze shifted from my face to the viper's, and she continued to deny it countless times, claiming she didn't know what I was talking about again or that I was in this state because I couldn't get everything I wanted.
