Chapter 44 - Locked Up Again - mduno
I woke up to the sound of voices in the living room of the apartment. Roland had left around midnight and we had planned to have lunch together, the idea was to make up for the days apart. The bedroom door opened and there he was. That man was perfect, he looked so handsome, so sensual, I had to admit, he looked very manly, too sexy, very edible. The best part was he was mine, I had him all to myself. Maybe I'm bragging, but I know he was with me.
"Good morning," he smiled with that typical mischief, God, that man made my thighs wet. "Stop looking at me like that, 'Miss Veronica'," he tried to hold back a laugh.
"Not every day an attractive man wakes me up."
"It won't be long before it's mandatory." I smiled, understanding he was referring to our pact. "I have to win a bet and I've been neglecting it a bit."
"Don't tell me, you're feeling very confident." I stretched in bed.
"I always win, Beautiful, although with you it's been a bit harder. But I know that in the end I always get what I want, and I want you naked in my bed."
"You are so arrogant and conceited."
He approached, lifted the covers, I wore a short robe. He raised one of his eyebrows and my body trembled under his devouring gaze.
"You are... just what the doctor ordered." I took the cover from him to cover myself again, he let out a laugh. "Honey, get ready, I have a gift for you."
"Where are we going?"
"It's a gift."
He sat on the edge of my bed, I sat up covering myself and looked at the clock. It was almost seven in the morning.
"You're an early bird!" I sighed. "Any special clothes?"
I noticed his outfit, he was wearing jeans, a sky-blue t-shirt under his sports jacket.
"Any outing?"
"I want to show you one of my passions," was his response.
"That's enough, I'll be ready in half an hour."
I wouldn't miss the opportunity to learn more about the real Roland. I pointed to the door to give me some privacy, he tilted his head and raised his eyebrow, God, I loved that gesture!
"Are you asking me to leave?"
"No. Never! It's just that I'm going to be naked and I don't intend to go back on my word." He smiled broadly.
"I missed an opportunity, don't rub it in."
I bit my lips. Yes, yesterday would have been the perfect day.
"And there won't be another until the agreed day." He approached to kiss me, leaving me dazed.
"We'll see about that, because I'm tired of my... member," he emphasized, "getting cold showers." I burst out laughing.
"You were thinking of another word, weren't you?"
"For me it's normal, I've said some and you always correct me, with you I have to speak properly. What I meant was my dick."
"And you had to say it." I gave him a slap. "Somehow you always get your way."
"Always, Veronica, never forget that," I sighed. "With you, it's never what I have in mind, maybe I get the result, but never how I projected or thought. You always surprise me." His gaze was so beautiful, so him.
"And is that good or bad?" I stroked his scalp, he closed his eyes while I did, he always did that.
"It's different, you always keep me on my toes." He opened his eyes. "You know how to play with me, that keeps me alert. I thought I was good at it, but you..."
"I don't play, and our relationship will never be a game, Roland."
"Don't take it that way." He kissed my hand. "Learn something. Life is a game, it depends on each person if it's the game of their life or something fleeting. In my case, it's the first." He gave me a pat on the butt. "Get in the shower, we have to go, we're taking D'Artagnan, he'll have fun where we're going."
Hearing his name, he came out from under my bed barking. Roland picked him up and left my room. We arrived at nine in the morning, it was my first time getting on a helicopter, those things only made me tense, and I had to admit, I was scared of that aerial transport.
Because of my strange screams, I became the laughingstock of Roland and his security team. I almost had an accident in my pants. When he realized I was upset, he held my hand and didn't let go, but that didn't calm my nerves, I don't know why they did unnecessary spins, those silly flips!
My stomach was churning from the ups and downs performed by Cebolla. I was surprised to realize he was a pilot. With my ears blocked from the vertigo, I prayed the prayers that came to mind. Upon landing, my boyfriend unbuckled the seatbelt and I rushed out to vomit, feeling his hand on my back.
"I'm sorry," I said while wiping my mouth with the scarf.
"Veronica, you don't need to apologize, I'm the one who assumed it's normal to get on a helicopter, I forgot you haven't had that kind of experience. We'll return by plane," he caressed my cheek.
"I need to wash my mouth."
I frowned, did this have to happen to me? I looked like a drunk throwing up bile. He smiled and hugged me with his free hand, holding D'Artagnan in the other. Galaxia and her other pups ran out once Simon opened the pet travel case.
"We're at the estate now," I noted the place, moving from confusion to amazement.
The site was beautiful, predominantly white, and we had arrived at the private helipad. He took my hand, and we walked along the path that ended at the house. The columns were made of bamboo, and the outdoor furniture matched. A collection of finely crafted bamboo pieces, a palm roof, and the house had three stepped levels. How did Roland manage to create an atmosphere of elegance and simplicity at the same time without leaving modernity behind? The white color and natural wood reflected who he was deep down.
"It's beautiful. Do you bring many people here?"
He smiled faintly, and I felt a pang in my stomach as I understood his response.
"No, Veronica." I looked at him, puzzled; that wasn't the answer I expected. "It's my estate, just like my house." I couldn't help but get excited. "No one aside from my most trusted staff."
"You must have been the best in your class."
He squeezed my hand and pointed to the door diagonal to the spacious living room. He put D'Artagnan on the ground, and the dog ran off to inspect the place with his brothers.
"You can wash up in there." I went to the bathroom.
Something I loved about my favorite architect was the bathroom finishes; they were dreamy, making you never want to leave. It was elegant and simple; he used bamboo to his advantage and turned simplicity into sophistication. The varnish tone gave it a special touch. The faucets, like in all the properties I had been to, required analysis to figure out "how it works."
It was a long, square faucet with no lever or valve. Where does the water come out? I put my hands in front of the faucet's mouth, but it didn't activate. "And now, what's the magic trick?" After looking and feeling around, I noticed a digital panel at the back. I touched it, and an alarm went off. "Damn," Roland entered laughing while I turned a thousand colors trying to turn off that sound.
"It started on its own; I didn't do anything."
I shrugged, and he laughed heartily. I went from pale with fright to red with embarrassment.
"Sorry, Veronica, the house is digitized. Everything works with your fingerprint, and I haven't added yours to the system yet."
"What?"
I reacted just in time to close my mouth as Roland did something on a tablet in his hand.
"Give me your right index finger and place it here."
He showed me the screen; I put my finger on it, and it scanned my print. A box popped up, and he stepped away to enter some data. "All set! Now you can activate the water system." He kissed my forehead and left.
I put my finger on the panel, and a larger screen appeared, showing some numbers followed by the word "sec." I pressed the 5-sec button, the water came out, and as soon as I cupped my hands to collect it, it stopped. "Silly, it's five seconds. Be smarter, Veronica." I reactivated the water, this time selecting 60 seconds. When I came out of the bathroom, Roland was talking to Simon and Miguel, who I knew as Onion. Raul had told me his name, not because he had introduced himself. According to my friend, he seemed to be on the same team, something I still doubted, but God knows, he might be bisexual.
"Nice estate, and even nicer knowing I'm the first." Simon stifled a smile, and Roland shot him a warning look. "Is something wrong?" The boss's trusted men said nothing.
"And the boss still says he's not hooked?"
Miguel spoke, then ran out, closing the door. I smiled nervously. I was aware of what was going to happen. I couldn't have chosen a better setting for the inevitable between us. I was surprised to see Simon participate in a friendly act, joking around. Now we were alone.
"And that look?"
He made that gesture with his mouth that I liked, a direct message to my core. He approached, grabbed me by the waist, and lifted me. I wrapped my legs around his hips, losing reason with the kiss we shared. I had decided; today was the day I would give myself to him, and it would be like this for the rest of my life. My heart started pounding hard.
"Relax, beautiful. We won't do it right now, but today won't pass without it happening. I love knowing I'll win my bet."
"You're a great player and a cheater."
I unhooked my legs from him, and he kissed my forehead.
"I haven't cheated at all!"
His eyes sparkled, that predatory look of a wolf on the hunt, seeming condescending but only to lure me into his charms.
"But I'll make sure Ratita doesn't interrupt us today." He took his electronic tablet. "Done, no one will come in."
"Did you just lock me in?"
"It won't be the first time..."
