Chapter 344 - They Are Tremendous - mdfour
Roland
Inés's room was always like a small apartment in any house I lived in. I set up an area on the first floor to make sure she was always comfortable. We entered what was her space; there was a small living room, a dining table with four chairs, an external bathroom, and the main one in her bedroom. We knocked on the door.
"Come in!"
Victoria had her grandmother with all her toy medical equipment. She had a pink stethoscope around her neck. Inés was happy.
"They told me you have a headache," she stated.
"Yes, but that was when I just got back from the doctor. Now my personal doctor has already cured me." Victoria smiled and came to greet me.
"Hi, Daddy."
"Did you finish your homework?"
They both nodded. At that moment, Verónica arrived, her face full of concern. She looked at my old lady and then composed herself.
"They told me you came home with a headache."
"But I already took it away, Mommy." The three adults laughed.
"If there's nothing to worry about, I need to inform you that we're going to Saint John, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda. We'll spend about five days, and it's just for mothers and grandmothers."
"What?!" What is she planning now?
"What you heard, honey. We’re leaving Thursday after noon, and don't worry, both nannies are already informed and will stay overnight to help you out." Inés was smiling.
"Vero, my kids are going to go crazy, but they need to learn to spend a full day with their kids."
"Exactly."
"I don't agree. Beautiful?"
"We'll talk about it later. Are you feeling okay, Inés?"
"Yes, my dear, and those days of relaxation will do me a lot of good."
"Part of this trip is for you. We’ll be staying in a house in front of the sea, on a cliff outside the capital."
"Enrique, son, I need to talk to your mom."
"I'll stay with the kids," said Inés. I took my wife's hand, and when we were away from the others, I looked at her.
"I'm sorry, honey. This was unexpected. We were talking about how our suspicions about Aníbal weren't true, and then Shirly arrived. She got very sad about being excluded, so to avoid hurting her feelings, I had to say we were planning her birthday. It's a women-only trip for those days."
"Verónica, it's four days..."
"Don't I deserve a break?"
At that moment, I realized that since we got married, she had only gone out during our honeymoon and Gustavo and Aníbal's wedding. I couldn't be selfish, especially since I had lied. I shrugged.
"Sorry for keeping you prisoner. I'm the one in jail, not you." Her eyes widened.
"Don't think that. I love being with you every day. But we were forced to lie, and now we have to follow through."
"You’re leaving me with the kids."
"They're grown up! We just need to figure out what to do with Cristofer; he's still breastfeeding." I have no right to confine her. "Honey, Manolo and Raúl are arriving in two weeks." I already knew, my cousin wrote to me this morning.
"Just give me the details of where you'll be staying."
"It's a house, but with hotel services; we’ll have waiters, maids, and personal chefs. We'll rest and relax. I'll give you all the information, don't make that face."
"Don't mind me."

Guadalupe
I was finishing packing my suitcase under my husband's supervision. Since Vero told us about the trip, my handsome blondie had tried every way to persuade me not to go.
"You're not taking that, Lupe." He took it out of my suitcase.
"We'll be in a house, ten women and four elderly ladies. Do you want me to bathe naked?"
"No, but that's a two-piece."
"Arnold, it's just a few days away with the girls!"
"That's what scares me the most."
"Don't I deserve a break?" I crossed my arms and put the swimsuit back in; I was taking three in total.
"It's not that, Mermaid, it's that you're leaving me with the kids."
“Demetrio listens to you! He just ignores my scoldings.”
“They’re quite a handful!” He looked serious.
“They take after you because I was very well-behaved as a kid.” She made a face. “You face off with the Russian mafia, but you’re scared of two harmless three-year-olds who are our own flesh and blood.”
“They’re like aliens. Demetrio destroys a marble. Give him anything, and he returns it broken, with his innocent little froggy face saying, ‘She year.’”
I almost smothered my little blondie with kisses when I heard him imitate our baby’s voice. God, how I love this man, even if I feel like spanking him all the time.
“See how I need a bit more help from you?”
“Aren’t you going to have pity on me after everything I’ve said?”
“No! I want to see that place.” I finished packing my small suitcase.
“We could go away for a few days, just the two of us, to let loose our wild passion.”
“Don’t insist.”
Vero, Inés, Mrs. Consuelo, my mother, Mrs. Josefina, Gladis, Shirly, Clari, Arinka, Diana, and Luisa will soon arrive at the airport.
“Are you going to take me, or should I call a cab?”
“The kids and I will take you.” He gave me a kiss. “You think I didn’t notice, but you’re taking two thongs you haven’t shown me yet.” I burst out laughing; I don’t know what Arnold’s fetish is with my cartoon panties. “Let’s go, we need to pick up Carlina and Pato.”
We left to find my friends. When we arrived at their building, they were already waiting. As soon as Carlina saw us, she started kissing her son. Lobo put her small suitcase in the trunk.
“Kevin, the baby eats every three hours.”
“Love, I know. If you’re so scared to leave him with me, stay.”
“And miss seeing that beautiful place Vero showed us? No way. You can handle our son. I need the break.”
They kissed, and she got into the SUV, holding Dayana. Pato dragged her small suitcase, and Alfredo followed her, saying something that made her raise her voice.
“Are you still going on about that, Alfredo?” I smiled. These men are so jealous. They have such a perverted view of the world, they think we’re the same. “Enough, love.”
She kissed him. We waved goodbye, and Pato, after storing her suitcase, got into the car, holding Demetrio.
“Did they happen to tell you not to wear swimsuits?”
“With the smooth body I have?”
Carlina spoke. Despite her scars, she always wore a cover-up to hide them.
“In our defense, we’re just protecting what’s ours, just like you protect your…” He trailed off, remembering the kids were there. “You know.” Arnold took my hand.
“Sweetie, all kids are restless,” I said.
“The only one free to do whatever he wants is Alfredo. He doesn’t have kids.”
“If he decides to look for girls, he’ll lose out,” Patricia replied, not falling for my husband’s trick.
“That’s not what I mean. I mean he won’t stop making fun of us,” my husband said.
“Are you going straight to the ranch?”
“Of course! I’ll pick up the kids and head out. Everyone’s waiting for us.” I frowned.
“Arnold, are you going to track us by satellite?”
“What?! No! Our technology doesn’t reach that far.”
I nodded. We arrived at the airport. My husband wouldn’t get out because of the kids. He leaned in and kissed the tip of my nose.
“Mermaid, don’t tan too much. Skin cancer is on the rise lately.”
“Yes. You’re incorrigible.”
“I’m just making sure no one else sees your body.” I kissed him.
“I’ll call you when I’m on the plane, I’ll call you once I land, then at the house, before bed, and again when I wake up, and I’ll follow the same routine.”
“I see you got the message.”
“With all the nagging you’ve done these days.”
“Just take care of yourself. Remember, you’re my life.” Those were the comments that melted me. I kissed him again.
“See you Monday.”
