Home Safely
I felt it, a wave of triumph and exhaustion washing over me, even from afar. The black diamond pulsed with a quiet satisfaction, its connection to my mates an unbreakable tether.

Alden, who had been pacing my chambers like a caged panther, stopped abruptly, his hand pressed to his chest. “They succeeded. The Dark Kings’ network… It’s shattered. I can feel their despair, their power unraveling like cheap thread.” He let out a dramatic sigh of relief, slumping onto the cushion once more. “Oh, the sweet taste of victory. Though I do wish I’d seen the look on their faces when their precious ‘Heart of the Syndicate’ turned to dust.”

I smiled, leaning back against the pillows. “They’ll be home soon.”

“Indeed. And you, my queen, have proven your strength even in repose. Managing the kingdom’s affairs, guiding your mates, all while nurturing the future of our lineage. Truly remarkable.” He fanned himself languidly. “I daresay, you’re even more formidable than your father, bless his valiant but rather conventional soul.”

The next few hours were a whirlwind of preparations. Servants bustled through the halls, preparing a feast, arranging fresh flowers, ensuring every detail was perfect for the kings’s return. I, however, found myself drawn to the large, arched window overlooking the moonlit gardens. The visions, though less frantic now, still flickered at the edges of my awareness. A roaring fire, a chained figure, a voice echoing, “Free me, my sacred hidden flame.”

The sound of massive wings beating outside, followed by the familiar thud of dragon forms landing, sent a thrill through me. I heard their voices, deep and resonant, echoing through the marble halls. Akon was the first to burst into my chambers, his dark red hair slightly singed at the ends, his eyes blazing with residual fire. He swept me into a crushing embrace, his huge muscles coiling around me. “My queen! The deed is done. They won’t trouble you again.” His voice was a triumphant roar, his scent – smoke, ozone, and his unique musk – filling my senses. He pulled back, his large hands cupping my face, his thumbs tracing the line of my jaw. “Are you well? Did you feel us?”

“I felt it all,” I murmured, leaning into his touch. “Every tremor, every burst of flame. You were magnificent.”

Ashton followed, his movements more deliberate, his gaze sweeping over me, assessing. He placed a gentle hand on my belly, a silent acknowledgment of the life within. “The territory is secure, Layla. Their influence is broken.” His voice was calm, but his blue-green eyes held a deep satisfaction. “You guided us, even from here. Your insights into their vulnerabilities were crucial.”

Ayden, a mischievous glint in his eyes, sauntered in, his black hair still damp. He pulled me into a playful hug, his lips brushing my ear. “I told them your strategic genius was almost as dazzling as your beauty, my queen. Almost.” He winked, then his expression sobered, his fingers brushing a stray strand of ruby hair from my face. “Did the visions bother you?”

“They were clearer tonight,” I admitted, my gaze meeting his. “The black diamond… It’s reacting to the child. And to the chaos you created.”

Adrik entered last, his presence a palpable force that filled the room. His long, wavy brown hair was slightly disheveled, a smudge of ash on his cheekbone, but his eyes, usually so guarded, held a warmth that made my heart flutter. He didn’t rush, didn’t speak immediately. He simply looked at me, a silent question in his gaze, a deep, possessive love shining through. He walked to me, his hand reaching out, his fingers gently tracing the curve of my swollen belly. A soft hum resonated between us, a shared connection that deepened with every passing day. “You are safe,” he finally said, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through me. “That is all that matters.”

I reached up, my fingers brushing his jaw. “And you are home. All of you.”

Akon’s rumbling chuckle filled the room. “Home, and hungry! Let’s feast, my queen. And then…” His eyes, hot with desire, swept over me. “We can discuss our next steps in securing the future.”

Ayden grinned. “Ah, yes. The future. Full of delicious possibilities.”

Ashton, ever practical, added, “And continued vigilance. The remnants of their network will seek to rebuild.”

Adrik, however, simply held my gaze, his thumb stroking my cheek. “For now, there is only us. And the promise of what is to come.”

The feast was a boisterous affair, filled with laughter, the clinking of goblets, and the scent of roasted meats and exotic spices. The brothers, once fierce warriors, transformed into doting mates, showering me with attention, their hands lingering on my skin, their eyes constantly seeking mine. Alden, perched regally at the head of the table, offered witty commentary and dramatic pronouncements, keeping the mood light. Later, as the moon climbed higher, casting long shadows across the castle, I found myself in Akon’s bed, massive and draped in dark silks, beckoning. He sat on the edge, his immense frame radiating heat, his eyes never leaving mine.

“Come here, my queen,” he rumbled, his voice thick with desire. He reached for me, his large hands gentle as he drew me onto his lap. My back rested against his broad chest, his arms wrapping around my swollen belly, his chin resting on my shoulder.

“You’re tired,” I murmured, feeling the subtle tension in his muscles, the lingering adrenaline from the battle.

“Only for a moment. The thought of you, here, waiting… it fuels me.” He shifted, his hand moving lower, stroking my thigh through the silk of my nightgown. “It was a good hunt. Clean. Decisive. But now… now I crave a different kind of release.”

His lips found the sensitive skin of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. He kissed me, slowly, deeply, his tongue tracing the delicate curve of my earlobe, sending a jolt of pleasure through me. I leaned back into him, my body already responding to his heat, to his possessive touch.

“You smell of smoke and victory,” I whispered, my fingers tangling in his thick, dark red hair.

“And you, my love, smell of pure magic. And something else… something new, something intoxicating.” His voice was a low growl, his breath warm against my skin. His hands, large and calloused, moved with exquisite tenderness, tracing the curve of my breast, his thumb brushing over my nipple, which instantly hardened under his touch.

A soft moan escaped my lips. “Akon…”

He turned me in his arms until I faced him, my legs straddling his hips. His eyes, the color of molten copper, burned with a raw hunger. He leaned in, his lips brushing mine, teasing, tempting.
