184 - Early Morning
The bad news is that labor for first babies usually goes for a long time. The good news is that there is usually plenty of time for drugs. – Dr. Blake
Priscilla and Denver
Shifting in the large bed, Priscilla moved from laying on one side to the other. With the large belly hindering her movements, she did what she dubbed her three-point-turn; side, back, side. She was now facing Denver but still just as uncomfortable.
He pressed a kiss on her forehead as he moved his hand from her hip to her knee. Lifting her leg, he shifted slightly to rest her leg on his thigh. This had become her preferred position when her back and hips were hurting. Snuggling in as best as she could with what felt like a baby elephant in her belly, she sighed and tried to go back to sleep.
Denver massaged her hip joint before resting his hand on her large belly. The muscles under his hand rippled and she made a sound of discomfort. Softly, he encouraged her to breathe through the discomfort.
At her weekly appointment yesterday, Dr. Blake confirmed that Priscilla was in the early stages of labor. She also warned that it could last for a long time. Especially since this was the first baby, which always seemed to take longer.
“The good news is that she’s in the right position,” Dr. Blake had told them as the sonogram tech did his exam. “The bad news is that once again she has everything hidden so I still cannot guarantee that she is a girl.”
Laying in the bed, she thought about how throughout the pregnancy she had insisted that she was having a little girl. Yet the sonogram could never confirm it. Bloodwork provided the answer to the doctor’s office but was kept from the family at the mother’s request. Since Priscilla called the baby a girl, the staff followed her lead even before the bloodwork was ordered.
“Do you want anything?”
“This to be over?” she suggested as she moved her leg and tilted her hips trying to find a more comfortable position.
He chuckled and pressed a kiss to her temple. “Soon enough, Doll. You know that once you go to the hospital, you won’t be able to eat until after you deliver?”
“Don’t remind me,” she groaned as again tried to find a comfortable position.
Glancing at the bedside clock, he told her, “It’s nearly six. Should we go ahead and assume that we’re up for the day?”
“Yeah,” she winced. “I feel like I need to poop and with all this iron I’m not sure if I’m full of baby or shit.”
Moving his hand to gently rub the small of her back, he gently chuckled. “Just remember if you haven’t had her by Friday, Blake will induce.”
“Two more days of this,” Priscilla grumbled as she shifted once more.
“Just two more,” Denver agreed. “Why don’t you go take a quick shower and I’ll go take over the big kitchen?”
“Can I have an omelet?”
“You can have anything that you want, Doll.”
Smiling, she lifted herself up on her elbow and leaned in to kiss him. “I love you, Denver.”
“I love you too, Doll.”
He rolled out of bed and then helped her to her feet. Carefully, slowly, she made her way to the attached bathroom. The collection of lighters was still in its hiding place under her bottom drawer.
She assumed that they were now gathering dust since she had not used them since she found out that she was pregnant. Anthony had handed her treatment over to Carly who put her on a mood stabilizer that was safe for both her and the baby. Now she regretted never going to her even though Carly obviously knew that Priscilla was struggling.
When she asked Anthony why he had never prescribed the medicine, he admitted that he was not licensed to prescribe outside of Florida. Although it made sense, it was something that she had never thought about before.
After her shower, she dressed in one of her loose maternity dresses and made her way downstairs. The discomfort was growing and her twinges that she was certain were contractions were getting closer. Yet still not close enough to justify going to the hospital or calling Dr. Blake.
Tammy sat at the kitchen island feeding Case’s son, Mike, his bottle. Molly sat next to her with Noel’s daughter, Peyton. Denver was cooking sausage links, Priscilla insisted that they were better than patties, and except for being pregnant, had no reason as to why.
Moving away from the stove for just a moment, Denver placed a cup of decaf coffee in front of the empty stool at the kitchen island. Priscilla smiled her thanks at him. Lifting her leg to the footrest on the barstool, thick viscous fluid gushed down her legs.
Geo and Porthos
“You’re restless,” Geo growled as Porthos snuggled up behind him and wrapped his arm around his husband.
He grunted in agreement, “You ever feel like something big is about to happen?”
“Other than the fact that we’re going to be dads by the weekend?”
“Nervous?”
“Me? Nervous? No, not a bit. But I am fucking terrified.”
Porthos chuckled. “I’m both.”
“I’ll be nervous once the baby is here.”
“You realize,” Porthos pressed a kiss to Geo’s shoulder, “that if it is a little girl, she’s someday going to want to date a man like us?”
Geo rolled over to face the other man. Cupping the darker cheek, he kissed Porthos and then smiled at him. “Bi?”
Porthos chuckled, “No you idiot. Bikers, bad boys, badasses.”
Moving swiftly, Geo rolled and pinned Porthos under him. Grabbing his wrists, Geo held the slightly darker hands against the headboard. Settling between the other man’s legs, their hardening cocks lay next to each other, confined in dark cotton boxer briefs.
“If our baby girl ever needs a man disposed of, I’m hoping to God that she has a man, or men, that will do exactly the same thing that we did, I hope that they do it like we did.”
“Since you put it that way,” Porthos grinned as he pushed up and Geo met his kiss.
From the front of the apartment, someone banged loudly on the front door.
“Think that there’s a chance that it’s our neighbor’s door?” Porthos asked hopefully.
Grinding his cock against his husband’s, Geo nipped his bottom lip. “We can hope.”
“Lieutenant Landon!” someone yelled between the pounding on the door.
“Someone better be dead,” Geo growled as he got out of bed and walked down the hall.
He did not bother to hide his hardened cock, letting it bulge against the tight cotton. The plan was to come back after dealing with the person at the door and finishing what had been started. Unlocking the door, he flung it open and found himself face to face with Dom in Army fatigues.
“Damn,” she said, pushing her way inside and closing the door. “I understand why she couldn’t choose.”
“Dom?”
“You and Porthos are being deployed,” smirking, she added, “officially.”
“Unofficially?”
“Your girl is having a baby.”
