Chapter 68

One day, out of the blue, a woman named Anna showed up at their doorstep, claiming to be Victoria’s long-lost half-sister. She said that they shared the same father, a man Victoria had never met. At first, Victoria was skeptical. How could this woman just come out of nowhere and claim to be her sister? But as Anna began to tell her story, Victoria started to believe her.

Anna explained that she had grown up with their father and had always known about Victoria but never had the chance to reach out to her. She showed Victoria some old family photos and letters as proof of their connection. Victoria was shocked but also filled with a sense of longing to finally have a blood relative in her life.

Christian, on the other hand, was more suspicious of Anna. He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something off about her sudden appearance. He didn’t want to believe that this stranger could disrupt their perfect lives. But Victoria was adamant about getting to know Anna and building a relationship with her newfound sister.

In order to put an end to the doubts and uncertainties, Victoria and Anna decided to have a paternity test. The results came back positive – they were indeed half-sisters. Victoria was overjoyed to have a new family member, someone who shared her blood and could understand her in a way no one else could.

Anna proved to be a wonderful addition to their family. She was kind and caring, and she quickly bonded with Victoria’s three children – Olivia, Maya, and Luke. Olivia and Maya adored Anna, but Luke was more reserved. He couldn’t shake the feeling of distrust he had towards this stranger who had suddenly appeared in their lives.

As time went on, Christian found himself warming up to Anna as well. He saw how happy she made Victoria and how she lovingly cared for their children. He realized that his initial suspicions were unfounded and that Anna truly had good intentions.

Anna and Victoria shared a special bond, even though they had never really known each other until now. Anna had been searching for her long-lost sister for years, and when they finally found each other, it was as if a missing piece of their lives had been found.

As they sat in the living room, sipping on tea and sharing stories, Anna began to tell Victoria about their late father. Victoria listened intently, hanging on every word as Anna painted a picture of the man she had never had the chance to know.

“He was kind and funny, always quick with a joke and a smile,” Anna said, her eyes shining with tears. “I wish you could have known him, Victoria. I wish you could have had a chance to make memories with him.”

Victoria nodded, her own eyes welling up with tears. “I know, Anna. I wish I could have too,” she said softly. “But I’m just so grateful to finally have someone in my life who I’m truly related to. Since my mother died, I’ve felt so alone, but Christian is always by my side, doing everything he can to make sure I’m okay. I miss my mother so much. She would have been an amazing grandmother to my kids. Even our father sounds like he would have been a great grandfather. But now, with you, I feel like I have a piece of my family back.”

Anna reached out and took Victoria’s hand, squeezing it gently. “We’re in this together now, Victoria. We may have lost our father, but we have each other. And that’s something special.”

From that day on, Anna and Victoria did everything together. They went shopping, cooked meals, and even took long walks in the park. Christian couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy at how close his wife had become with her newfound sister. But he could also see how happy Victoria was, and that made him smile.

Even though she was the younger sister, Anna took it upon herself to look after her older sister Victoria’s children while she pursued her career as a successful businesswoman. Anna would wake up early every morning to make breakfast for the kids, help them get ready for school, and then drive them to and from school every day. She loved spoiling them rotten, buying them toys and treats, taking them on outings to the park or the zoo, and showering them with love and attention.

Victoria, grateful for her sister’s help, wanted to repay her in some way. She knew that Anna had put her own dreams on hold to take care of the children, and she wanted to make sure that Anna had a fulfilling and rewarding life of her own. So she approached Anna one day with a proposition.

“Anna, I know how much you love spending time with the kids, but I also want you to have a career of your own. I have two options for you. You could either come work at my jewelry company, helping me design and create beautiful pieces, or you could work at Chadwick Group with Christian. The choice is yours, but I want you to have the opportunity to build your own future.”

Anna was taken aback by Victoria’s offer. She had never considered herself to be a career-oriented person, but the idea of working in a creative field like jewelry design intrigued her. On the other hand, the thought of working at a high-powered company like Chadwick Group was both exciting and intimidating.

After much deliberation, Anna decided to give both options a try. She started working at Victoria’s jewelry company, immersing herself in the world of gemstones and precious metals. She discovered a hidden talent for design and craftsmanship, creating stunning pieces that caught the eye of customers and colleagues alike.

At the same time, Anna also began working at Chadwick Group, where she quickly rose through the ranks thanks to her hard work and dedication. She found herself navigating the complex world of corporate politics and deal-making, using her natural charm and charisma to forge connections and make a name for herself in the industry.

As Anna’s career flourished, she found herself torn between her two worlds. On one hand, she loved the thrill of working at Chadwick Group, where she felt like she was making a difference and challenging herself every day. On the other hand, she cherished the time she spent with Victoria’s children, who had become like her own family.

Victoria noticed Anna’s inner conflict and sat her down for a heart-to-heart conversation.

“Anna, I can see how torn you are between your career and your family. I want you to know that you don’t have to choose between the two. You can have it all if you’re willing to make some sacrifices and find a balance that works for you. Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to give up one for the other.”

Inspired by Victoria’s words, Anna realized that she didn’t have to compartmentalize her life into separate boxes. She could be a successful career woman and a loving aunt at the same time, finding fulfillment and joy in both aspects of her life. With a renewed sense of purpose and determination, Anna set out to conquer the challenges that lay ahead, knowing that she had the support of her family every step of the way.

Luke also started to warm up to his aunt.
