THE WITCH KILLED FARRELL
THE WITCH KILLED FARRELL
Maxwell
I know Delilah loves me. But what I didn’t know…what I couldn’t have imagined…was that her love for Farrell ran deeper. She loved him dearly, more than I ever realized. For as long as she could, she hid it, burying her feelings beneath layers of loyalty and duty. But now, there was no hiding. The truth had surfaced, raw and unrelenting, and it shattered everything in me as I couldn't bear her loving anyone.
The moment she learned that Farrell was gone, she didn’t give me a chance to explain. She didn’t wait for my words, my apologies, or my pleas. She simply left. Before she walked out, she released Rosa, as if to tie up one last loose end. And then she was gone, leaving me alone in the silence of my own despair.
The irony is unbearable. I love Delilah with every fiber of my being. She is my mate, my Luna, my queen, my partner in every sense. She is the other half of my soul, the one who completes me. And yet, here I am, drowning in the pain of her absence. Farrell is gone, and in some twisted way, I thought that would mean I no longer had to share her. But now, I’ve lost her entirely. The emptiness is suffocating.
Rosa stood and left my chambers without a word. I didn’t stop her. I didn’t ask her anything. My mind was consumed with thoughts of Delilah. I had dreamed of a week alone with her, a week to reconnect, to start building the future we had always talked about…a future filled with pups, laughter, and love. But instead, I’m here, alone and broken, while she’s out there somewhere, far from me.
Two weeks have passed since she left. Two weeks of silence, of unanswered calls, of being shut out completely. I know she’s angry with me. She thinks I was selfish, that I put my own needs above hers. And maybe she’s right. But I couldn’t delay her coronation any longer, not with enemies closing in on all sides. I had to act, even if it meant hurting her. I just hope that one day, she’ll understand. I hope she’ll see that everything I’ve done, I’ve done for her, for us, for our pack.
These past two weeks have been a whirlwind of chaos and responsibility. I’ve attended countless meetings, each one more demanding than the last. The bridge to the Magic Kingdom…a project we’ve been working on for years, has finally resumed construction. It’s a monumental task, one that requires immense funding and resources. But if we succeed, it will change everything. The world will marvel at what we’ve built, and the revenue it generates will secure our future. It’s a dream worth fighting for, but it’s also a heavy burden to carry alone.
Then there are the meetings with the seven Alphas of the Seven Zones. Only six were present; one was conspicuously absent. Fear hangs heavy in the air as we discuss the unknown enemy terrorizing our world. No one has answers, no one knows how to stop them. It’s a puzzle I can’t solve, no matter how hard I try. The weight of leadership feels heavier than ever, and the absence of my mate only amplifies the strain.
In between meetings, I’ve been training my warriors, strengthening our defenses, and securing our borders. Everything is holding together, for now. But without Delilah by my side, it feels like I’m fighting a losing battle. She’s the heart of this pack, the source of my strength. Without her, I’m incomplete.
Tonight, I sit in my office, a bottle of bourbon in my hand, trying to numb the tension raging in my mind. The room is quiet, the air heavy with unspoken thoughts. A soft knock at the door pulls me from my thoughts. I almost don’t respond, but the knock comes again, more insistent this time.
“Come in,” I say, my voice barely audible.
The door opens, and I’m shocked to see Rosa standing there. I had forbidden her from coming anywhere near me. She’s a traitor, and yet I haven’t punished her. She meant too much to my late mother, and I’ve been struggling with how to handle her betrayal. But now, here she is, standing in my office, defying my orders once again.
She closes the door behind her and steps forward, her head bowed. I close my eyes for a moment, trying to control my temper. Disobedience is something I cannot tolerate, and she knows that.
“What do you want?” I ask, my voice cold.
She drops to her knees, tears streaming down her face. Her sobs fill the room, but they don’t move me. If anything, they irritate me. She has no right to cry, not after what she’s done.
“I have a confession to make,” she says, her voice trembling.
My eyes snap open. “Tell me everything.”
“Aside from being part of the group that weakened our defenses, I was the one who wiped your memory,” she admits.
I stand abruptly, pacing the room as her words sink in. My mind races, trying to process what she’s saying. This betrayal runs deeper than I thought.
“Raymond is working with them,” Rosa adds. “He set his brother up. The witch killed Farrell to weaken Delilah. You can kill me later, but right now, you need to save her. She’s the only one who can save us all.”
My heart pounds in my chest. This is worse than I imagined. All this time, I thought Farrell’s death was the end of it. I didn’t realize how vulnerable Delilah would be without him. She needs both of us to unlock her full powers, and now that Farrell is gone, she’s exposed
“My King,” she continued, her voice was so low, but urgent. “the people behind all of this…they’re connected to Queen Delilah. They don’t want to kill her. They want to take her back home. If she leaves the Blue Moon Pack now, especially through teleportation, they’ll capture her. There’s a powerful witch involved, and she’s dangerous.”
.
My heart aches with a mixture of fear and determination. This is bigger than I thought, bigger than any of us. Now, Delilah is in danger, and I can’t lose her. Not like this.
As I’m about to leave, Delilah’s voice echoes in my mind through our mindlink. She’s figured it out too…Raymond’s involvement, the trap that’s been set for her. Her voice is steady, but I can hear the fear beneath it.
“Zion, our mate needs us now,” I said.
“I’m ready to bring her back,” he responded without hesitation.
Without another word, I leave my office, my heart set on one goal: to bring Delilah home. No one will stand in my way. I don’t care who I have to hurt, what I have to destroy. I will bring hell to anyone who tries to take her from me. She is my mate, my queen,
my everything. And I will stop at nothing to save her.
