THE LUNA AND QUEEN
THE LUNA AND QUEEN
Delilah
The event was nothing short of grand, a spectacle that surpassed all my expectations. I had anticipated a significant gathering, but the sheer size of the crowd took me by surprise.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with an air of anticipation and reverence. All the Alphas from the seven Zones were present, their imposing figures standing tall and proud. Yet, one absence weighed heavily on my heart…Farrell, my mate.
He had promised to be here today, to stand by my side during this monumental occasion. But he was nowhere to be seen. His brother, Raymond, the Beta, was also missing. Their absence left a void, a lingering question that I couldn’t shake off.
As the ceremony began, the highest-ranking elder ascended the podium, his presence commanding silence and respect. I was called forward, my heart pounding as I stepped into the spotlight. It was time for me to take the oath, a sacred vow that would bind me to my people and my destiny.
The elder’s voice echoed through the field as he recited the ancient words, each syllable resonating with power and tradition. When it was my turn, I raised my hand and swore to protect and honor the pack and the kingdom, to uphold their laws, and to lead with wisdom and strength. My voice trembled slightly, but my resolve was unwavering.
Next, the spiritual leader, a woman I had never seen before, took her place on the podium. Her face was stern, her eyes piercing as if they could see into the very depths of my soul. She reached for the diamond-carved crown, her hands trembling slightly as she held it high above her head. The crowd held its breath, the silence almost deafening.
“This is the symbol of your reign, Delilah, daughter of the moon goddess,” she declared, her voice carrying the weight of centuries of tradition.
“I crown you Luna of the Shadow Claws Pack and Queen of the Seven Zones. May you reign supreme, and may your reign bring peace and happiness to your people.”
She motioned for me to bend slightly, and I obeyed, feeling the cool weight of the crown as it was placed upon my head. The moment it touched me, a surge of energy coursed through my veins, a connection to something greater than myself. The spiritual leader then took my hand and raised it high, turning to address the crowd.
“My people, I present to you your Luna and Queen. Queen Delilah Maxwell Cole!” she announced, her stern expression finally breaking into a smile.
The crowd erupted into cheers, their applause was like thunder as they rose to their feet. The sound was overwhelming, a wave of acceptance and joy that washed over me. I felt a lump in my throat, tears threatening to spill as I looked out at the sea of faces, all united in their celebration of this moment.
The spiritual leader then called for King Maxwell, and he stepped forward, his presence as commanding as ever. He extended his hand, and the woman placed mine in his. His grip was firm, reassuring, as if to remind me that I was not alone in this.
“By the powers embedded in me by the goddess,” the spiritual leader continued, “I give to you, King Maxwell, son of the late King James, your Luna, Queen, and destined mate. May she rule with you and assist you in every way she can.”
As she stepped aside, a profound silence fell over the crowd. The sky above us suddenly lit up, the night turning to day in a breathtaking display of celestial power. The moon’s brightness intensified, casting an ethereal glow over the field. The howls of wolves filled the air, a chorus of reverence as the beasts paid their respects to the goddess.
“The goddess has given her verdict and support,” the spiritual leader proclaimed. “My people, the goddess has finally given the kingdom her true Queen and protector.”
The howling grew louder, a symphony of voices that echoed through the night. All the wolves and Lycans were united in their excitement, their joy palpable. King Maxwell’s eyes locked with mine, and through the mind-link, I heard his voice, clear and strong.
“My Queen, my Luna, my mate,” he said, raising our joined hands high.
The celebration that followed was nothing short of magical. The pack youth danced with abandon, their movements fluid and joyous. Performances of all kinds took place, each one more captivating than the last. The air was filled with chatter, murmurs, and laughter, a testament to the success of the event.
As Maxwell led me to my seat beside his, I felt a strange sensation wash over me. The moment I sat on the throne, I became aware of a new ability. I could hear the thoughts of the people around me, their conversations clear and distinct.
At first, I was frightened, overwhelmed by the cacophony of voices in my head. But I quickly realized that this was another gift from the goddess, a way for me to understand and connect with my people on a deeper level. I could differentiate between the voices, each one unique, each one a part of the tapestry that made up our kingdom.
A loud voice suddenly cut through the noise, silencing the other thoughts. It was Rowan, Maxwell’s sister, and her words carried a weight that demanded attention.
“My people,” she began, “today was indeed a beautiful day. It was a night we will forever cherish in this kingdom. Finding the king, my brother, a mate was no small task. But the goddess has finally blessed him with not just a mate, but a magic princess.”
The crowd fell silent, the shock evident on their faces. People exchanged glances, trying to process the revelation. I felt a pang of anxiety. This part of me was supposed to remain hidden for now, a secret to be revealed at the right time. But Rowan had chosen this moment, and I had to trust her judgment.
“Allow me to call our Queen to give us her blessings tonight,” Rowan continued. “Queen Delilah, please, your people need your blessing. Show them what the goddess has for them.”
My eyes searched for Maxwell, and he nodded, his expression reassuring. I stood up, the applause and cheers of the people urging me forward. As I stepped up to the podium, Rowan handed me a microphone. But instead of speaking, I returned it to her. There was something I needed to do, a way to connect with my people that went beyond words.
I closed my eyes, focusing my thoughts and channeling the energy within me. With a wave of my hand, I created a brighter atmosphere, the entire field lighting up in a dazzling display of colors. A surge of energy lifted me off the ground, and I found myself floating above the crowd, a shining star pouring light into the night sky. The celebrations took on a new dimension, the people’s joy and excitement reaching new heights.
As I moved through the air, carried by the magical energy, I could hear their thoughts, their voices united in a single chant.
“Goddess bless our Queen. We have a magic princess as our Luna. Goddess bless our Queen.”
The sound filled the air, a chorus of hope and faith that resonated deep within me. My heart swelled with pride and happiness. These were my people, my family. And I would give everything I had to protect them.
The howling of wolves and Lycans filled the night, a symphony of celebration and unity. A new Queen had been crowned, and the kingdom rejoiced. Together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead, united in our love for each other and our devotion to the goddess. This was just the beginning of a new chapter, one that I was ready to embrace with all my heart.
