Chapter 259 Chapter 259
ARIANA
It has to be tonight.
I can’t think of a better time that he would be too occupied to even notice that his drink has been spiked. And besides, who in the entire room will suspect the Luna of ruining her own celebration by poisoning someone?
The omegas that were running in and out of the room, trying to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. None of them wants to be held accountable for even the slightest error. Maybe it’s just because they absolutely love me and can’t wait for me to be the Luna.
Or, it’s probably due to the fact that before they even started, I had told them, “If there is even the slightest mistake in my makeup, hair, nails or outfit today, I won’t just single out one of you, but I will make sure every single one of you will have their heads chopped off.”
I stare at my reflection in the mirror and smile as I watch them work in the most frantic, nervous manner, sweating and panicking at the same time just to make sure they don’t die. Oh please, it’s definitely the first reason.
As the night draws in, I go over my plans again for when Andrew has been disposed off, only to recall that Brad has brought back Lucian and Esme to the mansion.
I clench my fists in anger, resisting the urge to pound a fist on the dressing table. Goddess! I can just rip both of their heads off their fucking necks right now! But I will have to wait.
I can’t deviate from the plan. First, Drew’s death, so I can weaken Brad and if he opens up to me, even better, but if he doesn’t, I will still have the freedom to get everything I need to head back to Dominic.
After Drew’s death, taking care of Esme and Lucian shouldn’t be too difficult. All I have to do is stage an attack against Esme, make sure she gets roughed up just enough to terrify her and get her to force Lucian and herself out of the pack.
That wicked smile curves across my lips again and my eyes make contact with the omega currently styling my hair. She smiles nervously, believing she is the reason for my smile. I let her believe that and slowly, her nervousness fades away, brewing into confidence.
The rest of the night goes smoothly and when I have been standing for nearly half an hour while the omegas style the beautiful, midnight blue dress, it is finally time for me to get into place.
All I have to do is cause a distraction for Andrew to look away from his drink, while she slips the poison into his drink. I dismiss the maids and with a deep breath, I perch at the edge of the bed.
I suddenly feel a strange, cool air bristling behind me and my senses suddenly sharpen. I turn around sharply, only to find a figure crawling into my room through the window.
My eyes widen and my mouth opens into a scream, but he takes the hoodie off his head. He places his index finger on his lips and frowns at me, “Don’t say a fucking word, Ariana.”
“What? Hell no! There are a lot of words to be said!” I snap and glare at him, “have you lost your fucking mind, Draco? And why are you wearing a hoodie over a suit?!”
Draco closes the window and stares out of it for a few seconds, “Right, no one saw me come in.”
“Draco! What the fuck are you doing here?”
“Dominic sent me here to attend the wedding. I didn’t want you to freeze in the middle of your weddin.” He replies flatly.
I scoff in disbelief, “So, you’d rather I freeze before it?”
He contemplates on it for a few seconds, then shrugs, “I thought it would be best this way.”
“Well, hell no! What if someone walks in?” I snap at him, “You have to leave now, Draco. You can get me in serious trouble. You wouldn’t want that, would you?”
He pauses for a second, his eyes showing rare hints of a vulnerability that can only come from someone’s heart being broken. “Yeah, I get it. You’ve spent so much time with a lot of people and now I am finally watching you get married, after I watched Dominic mark you.”
I sigh and look away, “We can’t do this now, Draco. We can’t. I have to do this, it’s out of duty and it is for Damien.”
He averts his gaze suddenly and that instantly pricks my curiosity. My eyes narrow at him and I walk towards him, “What’s that look in your eyes, Draco? What happened? What has Dominic done to my son?”
“It’s not Dominic, Ariana,” he says, staring down at the carpet, “It’s your sister.”
My blood turns cold instantly. I stumble backwards slightly and crane my neck slightly, “W-What are you talking about, Draco? You’re really going to tell me that you weren’t joking about Bella being in the pack?”
He shakes his head grimly, “I thought she really had balls for doing that, but it turns out she has a lot more audacity from where that came from.”
“What are you talking about?”
“She took little Damien.”
“She took who?!” I scream at him and at that moment, a knock sounds on the door. “Get out! Get the fuck away from there!”
My mind is breaking down instantly. I can’t imagine what Bella can possibly be doing to my child, especially after everything I did to her!
“My lady, this is urgent!” the Omega says, “the ceremony has been cancelled!”
My eyes burn with a flood of tears. I stare at Draco speechlessly, unable to comprehend what the fuck is happening. I point at the window and swallow hard, my throat parched. “Go. Just go.”
I rush to the door and throw it open. I brush past the maid, rushing down the stairs only to see people thronging out of the building. My mind swirls in confusion. What’s going on?
I rush out of the mansion in search of Brad and I find him toward the stable, but I find more than just him. I stop dead in my tracks, my heart dropping to my stomach.
This…this can’t be real.
It can’t be…
