Chapter 9
Killian
The weight of Marcella's revelations lingered in the air like a heavy fog, a suffocating presence that clung to every corner of my mind. The mission to find Ana had taken an unexpected turn, weaving a complex tapestry of betrayal and hidden motives. As I strode through the dimly lit corridors, my thoughts churned like a tempest, each step echoing with the urgency of the unraveling situation.
Jonah fell into step beside me, his silent presence a reminder of the challenges that lay ahead. The air crackled with tension, a tangible force that pushed against the confines of the mansion. Marcella's plea for her sister's safety echoed in my mind, a discordant melody against the backdrop of my calculated plans.
How can she still be loyal to that bitch of a sister? I won't know. One sister was a manipulative bitch and the other was a complete angel. Her question if I would hurt her sister confused me. How can she still care after everything has happened?
We entered the surveillance room, the glow of monitors casting an eerie light on Jonah's solemn face. The search for clues in the footage was a meticulous process, a puzzle with pieces scattered in the shadows of Ana's past. Jonah walked passed me towards a computer and started working efficiently, his hands manipulating the controls with a practiced ease that belied the gravity of our task.
"Did Dom find anything yet?" I asked, my voice a low murmur.
Jonah shook his head, frustration etched in the lines of his brow. "Not yet. It's a needle in a haystack, Killian."
The impatience clawed at the edges of my composure, but I pushed it down, reminding myself that time was a luxury we couldn't afford. Ana's fate hung in the balance, and every passing moment increased the shadows that threatened to swallow her whole. If she died. I wanted to make sure it was by my hands.
As the monitors flickered with images of the past, I caught glimpses of Ana and Marcella—moments frozen in time that hinted at a sisterly bond now shattered. Marcella's betrayal stung, but beneath the layers of emotion, a deeper understanding began to form. The world we inhabited was a treacherous one, where alliances shifted like sand in the wind.
"Keep searching," I commanded, my tone firm. "We need to find her before the situation escalates further."
The room fell into a tense silence, broken only by the hum of electronic equipment and the occasional click of buttons. The walls seemed to close in, the weight of responsibility settling squarely on my shoulders. Ana's safety was paramount, but the web of deceit threatened to ensnare us all.
The door creaked open, and Dom entered, his expression grave. "Killian, we might have something."
My attention snapped to the screen where Dom pointed. A grainy image revealed a familiar figure—Tony, a name that carried the weight of ominous possibilities. The realization hit me like a punch to the gut. If Ana was with Tony, there were only two possibilities. Either Ana was working with Tony or Tony knew I was looking for her and got her first.
"We need to move quickly," I declared, my mind racing through the next steps. "Get a team ready. We're going after them." He was planning something big.
Jonah nodded, the grim determination mirrored in his eyes. The chessboard had shifted, and the pieces were in motion. The hunt for Ana had intensified, and the shadows that clung to her existence threatened to consume us all.

The leather of my office chair creaked under the weight of my simmering rage, a low growl escaping my throat as I replayed the botched operation in my mind. Marcella was supposed to be a simple grab, but Anastasia... she slipped through our fingers like water and fell right into Tony’s glass. My hands clenched into fists on the dark mahogany desk that had seen better days.
The phone's ping cut through the silence like a gunshot, and my head snapped toward the device. It lay there innocently enough until the screen lit up with Tony's name. My blood turned to ice as I swiped the message open. The image that greeted me—Anastasia's bruised face, her body bound to a chair—sent a jolt of fury through my veins.
"Jonah! Dom!" I barked out, voice laced with an urgency that rarely surfaced. The door swung open almost immediately, the two men stepping into the room with questions already forming on their lips.
"Look at this," I commanded, thrusting the phone towards them. Jonah's eyes narrowed at the sight, his jaw setting in that familiar way when trouble was brewing.
The tension in the room raised tenfold. What game was Tony playing?
"Killian, what do you want us to do?"Joanh asked, “This clearly seems like a trap.” Tension rolling off both of them in waves.
"Play it cool," I ground out between gritted teeth. "Don't give anything away." Lets see what Tony had up his sleeve now. The picture Dom showed and what Tony sent confused the situation way more than it previously was. Tony’s involvement was not something i was understanding.
Before I could finish that thought, another alert sounded from the phone. This time, a call. Tony's name filled the screen, and disdain for the man bubbled up inside me like poison. I took a deep breath and answered, schooling my features into a mask of indifference.
"Killian, old friend," came the smug voice from the other end, dripping with malice.
"Tony," I replied, my tone neutral. "You've got guts, I'll give you that."
"More than guts, I've got your precious Anastasia. And soon, I'll have Marcella too," he taunted, his voice a twisted serenade.
My hackles rose, but I clamped down on the instinct to lash out. How did he know about Marcella? "I don't know who you're talking about, and who is this Anastasia you speak of?" I lied smoothly, trying to bait him into revealing more.
"Cut the crap, Killian. You know exactly who I mean. Count your days because the only way out of this is to hand over Marcella," he pressed, convinced of his power.
"And what grand plans do you have for whoever this Marcella, Tony?" I asked, voice deceptively calm.
His laugh was a vile sound that scraped against my eardrums. "I'm going to fuck her, make her my whore and of course when she gove me my heir, you can take her back. After all, I'm nothing if not kindhearted. " he gloated, and something primal within me snapped.
In a flash of white-hot anger, I ended the call and hurled the phone with all my might. It smashed against the wall, pieces scattering like my last shred of restraint. Silence descended on the office, but my pulse thundered in my ears—a drumbeat of war and retribution.
Marcellas name from his mouth was not something I wanted to hear.
“What is it Killian?” Jonah asked.
I turned to my brothers and said the words which we would never come back from.”Hes coming and its time to show who Killian Knight is.”
It was only then Dom's expression changed into excitement. They knew what i meant and soon Tony fucking Benito will too.
