Harem Nights Part 2
Harem Nights Part 2
They all screamed "No!" Niko’s eyes burn with intensity as he stares at me. “You will not disobey us on this.”
Eric takes my hand. “Losing you isn't an option.”
Trent kisses my cheek. “No reckless shit, love.”
I look at Mike. “Sorry, I agree with them on this. We will find a way without outwardly putting you in danger,” he says.
I roll my eyes. I want to be useful just as much as I want to understand the new path my life has taken. “Fine, but I can still help gather clues. If I can't go to the crime scenes, bring me something from them.”
Mike grins. “Now you're thinking like an agent.”
Malcolm smirks. “As for Randall, we will pay him a visit.”
I point my finger at him. “No killing.”
Chase kisses my cheek. “Only just a little.”
“No! Absolutely not!” I exclaim.
Chase takes my head in his hands. “Emma, had you not frozen him, he would have compelled you to do who knows what. That I can't let slide.”
Malcolm nods. “And we won't. Tomorrow we can meet outside of her office. Let's say ten am?”
“Okay, but I'm pretty sure most of the others are human.”
“I can compel them to forget they saw us if needed. It will be fine,” Malcolm says.
“You seem so certain.”
Malcolm’s smirk widens. “I've been around a long time. This isn't my first time dealing with a lowlife.”
“Just the first one to touch your mate. I can hear your thoughts and feel you, remember,” I retort.
Mike just laughs. “What? Her calling you all out is amusing.”
Niko shakes his head. “This is going to be a long fucking eternity.”
Malcolm chuckles. “Looks like it.”
“Emma, do you think you can rest?” Chase asks.
“I can try,” I reply.
“Honey, you have had a long day. You don't need our permission to call it a night,” Trent softly says.
“How can I get you guys out of my head?”
“You can't,” Niko instantly replies.
Malcolm thinks for a moment, “But we could give you a short reprieve.”
“How short?” At this point, I would kill for an hour.
“A few hours at best,” Eric replies.
“Then do it, please.”
Eric nods. “Alright. Give me your bracelet.” He takes my bracelet and says words I don't understand. The bracelet glows. “Now, everyone, I need a drop of blood.”
I can't help but roll my eyes. Chase smiles. “Way of the Underworld, love.”
“I know,” I reply. Chase bites his finger and deposits a few drops of his blood onto the bracelet. The other guys do as well. I can't break my skin. “Umm, I need some help.”
Niko cocks his head. “That's interesting.”
Malcolm extends his hand. “Let me.” He takes my finger and presses it to his fang. It doesn't hurt. He squeezes a few drops of my blood onto the bracelet. It smokes as it glows and shakes.
Eric gasps. “Well, this isn't normal.”
Chase sucks my finger, and it heals. “What's happening?” I ask.
“It's the mix of blood,” Eric replies.
“Like before at my apartment?”
“Yes, I knew why ours reacted that way, Niko, Malcolm, Trent, is there something about you we haven't documented?” Eric asks.
“Not that I'm aware of,” Malcolm replies.
“Let's see if it worked. Emma, put the bracelet on and think of something. Guys, do the same,” Eric suggests.
I do as he suggested. I think of how crazy this all is, but how happy I am. For the first time in my life, I feel safe, happy, and wanted. Trent sighs. “I heard nothing.”
The rest of the guys all nodded but Chase. “Chase?” I ask.
Chase smiles. “I didn't hear anything, but I felt you. You're content and happy.”
I nod and smile. “I am.”
Eric grins. “Good. Wear it when you need quiet. I don't know how long it will last.”
“That's fine. Just not hearing a bunch of voices in my head is nice.”
“Then let's call it an evening. Niko, help me clean up,” Mike says.
“I can as well before I head back,” Malcolm adds.
“Thanks,” Mike says with a satisfied grin.
“Well, roomie, dinner was great. I guess I will see you at breakfast,” I say as I look at all of them.
Mike smiles. “Yes, how do you like your eggs?”
“Either fried or sunny side up.”
He laughs. “That I can do.” We all said our goodbyes for the evening. I went to my room.
I'm just lying on my bed staring at the ceiling when there is a light knock at my door.
