Chapter 25

Xavier walked towards his car, he was highly frustrated right now and his father had added to it.

He saw his mother standing by his car.

"Good evening, mother," he greeted dryly.

"I overheard what you said to your father, I know you're angry for being deceived, and I am too, but when I think about those few hours I spent with her, I know she really does love you."

"She doesn't want to be with me," Xavier replied, sadly.

"Maybe she wants you to think that way because she's scared of what the public might think of you” She walked closer to him and held his left hand.

"I know how happy you are with that woman, I don't want you to live a sad life, Xavier, so fight for this. Forget about the public. If you spend your life thinking about what people would think about everything you do, you'll never be happy, she loves you so don't trade it for anything."

He smiled feeling so grateful that at least one person wanted him to be with Amanda.

He hugged his mother.

"Thank you."

Alice smiled happily.

Alisha stared at the many and different designer clothes on her bed, she had stumbled onto two credit cards and realized that Xavier had set up two bank accounts for her.

She was so happy and went out immediately to the mall, she had spent hours choosing different clothes, bags and shoes.

She stared at the clothes, suddenly feeling unsatisfied, should she had gotten more?

Mona walked in.

"Ma'am, your favorite TV show is about to commence, Vera and the others are waiting for you, we're all so excited for the next episode"

Alisha stared at Mona disgustedly. If Amanda had been fooling herself with the workers, they better realize who was in charge now, they should worship the ground she walks on.

"How dare someone like you come up to me with something so absurd? Don't you know your place? If you've forgotten then I'll remind you. You're a lowly servant whose job is to ensure all my needs are met, instead of you to start praying that you shouldn't die poor, you're here making a mockery of yourself. Watch a movie with you and your kind? You've got to be kidding me."

"I'm sorry, ma'am, I'm sorry,” Mona pleaded, frantically. At that moment, she realized that this wasn't the sweet woman all the workers had come to love.

"You should be. When I get down, I don't want to see any of you sitting. If you've got nothing to do, start washing all the clean dishes again," she ordered.

"Yes ma'am."

"Get lost."

Mona nodded and hurried away.

As she walked downstairs, one of the maids turned to face her.

"Where's..."

"She's not interested because she's not Sir Xavier's wife," Mona announced.

Xavier got down from his car, he leaned his back against it, how could he get Alisha out of his house and life?

His phone beeped, he stared at it, it was a bank report from the account he had opened for Alisha...well, that was when he thought Amanda was Alisha.

But then, Amanda hardly touched the money on that account which had proven to him that she wasn't a money hungry fellow, she had once complained that the clothes on the trousseau were too many and she wouldn't have to shop for any new clothes anytime soon.

He knew she always kept the credit cards on the drawer in her bedroom. Alisha must've taken it.

He wasn't affected with the large amount of money that left the account in just one day, he was just stunned that she was spending his money already.

He sighed heavily and walked into his house, he found Alisha sitting on the stool in his wine bar, drinking champagne.

Noticing his presence, she turned to face him.

"Oh hey baby,” she placed the glass cup on the table and stood up. "So have you resolved the issue with my sister? I hope we can finally put the past behind us."

He stared at her sardonically.

"Why did you even return? Why didn't you just continue your life in China?"

Alisha gulped. "I won't take this harsh treatment from you, Xavier. You made me leave before, do you know how many men would kill for my love, but I chose to give it to you, so forget about Amanda already, she's not important."

His eyes flashed.

"You really expect me to believe you truly love me? You love my money, and you proved it a few hours ago."

She froze, shocked that he knew she went shopping.

"When I saw the credit cards, they were in my name so I assumed I could spend the money. I mean it's mine, right?"

He shrugged. "Of course it's yours, but you were just too impatient to start spending the money, you bloody gold digger!" He walked up to her and snapped off the necklace on her neck.

"This isn't for you."

"I won't let you treat me like this!" she thundered.

"And I would rather die than to be with someone like you," he declared and walked off leaving her boiling with anger.

Lying flat on his bed, he could picture her beautiful smile in his head.

Now that he knew the differences between the twin, it was as if they had different faces to him.

"Ti amo"

He shut his eyes missing the feeling of being inside her... and kissing her... and holding her hand.

"I miss you, amore. Do you miss me?" he asked aloud wishing he could get an answer to that.

A sound came from the door, he sat up to see Alisha sauntering into his bedroom in just a bathrobe.

He instantly knew what she wanted.

She held the bathrobe intending to take it off.

"Don't even think about it," he warned.

She heaved a sigh of frustration.

"I'm your wife, Xavier, and I should have you anytime I want you,” she yelled.

"I don't remember someone like you walking down to me in church, I don't remember someone like you on the honeymoon and I don't remember someone like you making me feel special"

Alisha slashed her hands through the air, dramatically. What was so great about Amanda? She was sure that Amanda had said hurtful words to him, yet he was still in love with that bitch? She had to say something that might make him see Amanda in a different state.

"I guess she was filling your head with lies, wake up Xavier. My sister's a total whore. I'm sure she didn't tell you about her numerous sexual escapades in Canada. Miguel had banged her countlessly..."

Xavier laughed standing up.

"Is this the easiest lie you can come up with? Sorry to burst your bubble. I'm the only man she has ever been intimate with," he announced.

Alisha bit her bottom lip hard, she had never expected that her sister had been a virgin, whereas she had lost her virginity at sixteen. Shame rolled through her.

"Why don't we talk about you? How many men have you been with? One...two... uncountable, right?"

"That doesn't matter," she fired back.

"Nothing can ever change the fact that I'm your wife and you have to start treating me like a precious egg that needs no crack. You'll give me everything I want or else the public will find out about everything."

Xavier jaw clenched. "Are you threatening me?"

She snickered. "What does it look like? No one needs to tell you how the public will react to this so don't dare me." And then, she walked off, hoping he would follow her and take her, but he didn't.

Xavier ran a hand through his hair leaving it disheveled.

"The public, huh?"

It was a warm evening as guests and different high societal men and women trooped into the expressive and massive hall of a seven-star hotel.

It was Alice and Cesario's wedding anniversary.

Xavier just sat opposite Alisha looking, face stoning and unreadable. He barely even greeted the guests.

Alisha stared at him across the table, she had dressed up so sexily for him, yet he said nothing about her look, he barely even glanced at her.

Would she ever be able to win this man's heart?

Her mother came by and greeted everyone sweetly. Xavier replied to her greeting with a nod.

He was vaguely aware of the activities going on. He was just in a world of his own until his father snapped him back to reality.

Cesario slid a piece of paper to him.

"It's almost time for the speech about your wife, and I really can't understand your attitude tonight. Don't ruin this night for me. You'll read everything out on that paper and make the world see how great Cesario Da Silva's son is."

Xavier nodded and took the paper from him.

Soon, he was called up to the podium. He walked up to the stage with loose-limbed grace.

A barrage of press was all around him, the camera flashes almost blinding him, and he knew he might get blinded by the cameras after this.

"I'm highly grateful to everyone here for making time out to honor this day for it is a very important day for my parents."

He paused and stared at the piece of paper, smirking at the romantic words written on the first line. He squeezed the paper.

"You don't need a paper to talk about someone who has consumed your heart and head."

Alisha smiled as people around her cooed.

"My wife...if I really want to say everything about her and all the things she makes me feel, we won't leave here tonight."

Most people laughed warmly and stared at Alisha, adoringly.

"I thought I had experienced love before, but with her, well, it's different. She makes me feel unique, like I hung the moon or something. Her smiles take my breath away; her eyes are the most beautiful set I've ever seen. I could look at her all day. I could never get tired of seeing her. Her simplicity makes me love her more; she doesn't want the things her peers want. She just wants my time. She just wants me to hold her and tell her how beautiful she is. Hearing her laughter makes me feel so fulfilled. I'm always proud of myself for the times I've made her laugh. I love it when she looks at me and tells me she loves me. I may sound too into my wife, but I love her so much and I want her to know that our love is still the most important thing in my life. She's…"

He paused and stared at his father, then at Alisha and said proudly and loudly, "She's Amanda…Xavier Da Silva's everything."

Cesario's eyes dilated, and he sprang up to his feet.
