Chapter 182 Blood Knows the Way
Skyler's POV

I looked at the compass one more time , and it faced deeper into the forbidden clan. From the stories told to us as children, they do not do well with visitors.

Devon drew me closer to himself as we passed people who went by on their business. We tried to blend in but our dressing gave us away.

Everybody here wore cloaks of different colours , which contrasted with the pair of jeans and sweat shirt I and Devon had on.

As we moved deeper , we noticed several eyes on us , and we were soon cornered by some people

“You are not from here” a young woman who was tall and lanky said

Devon drew me even closer to himself, with a sword held tightly in his right hand

“ No we are not” I replied softly, my left hand slowly reaching for the knife in my straddle bag

“ So why are you here, and so late” another voice in the crowd asked

“ We came here to meet with a certain witch , we have some work for her” Devon lied

I noticed an old man standing at the edge of the crowd , staring intently at me, his whole focus on me. I wondered if he knew me from somewhere.

“ What witch, do you want to see” another voice asked

Before any of us could reply the old man finally spoke up

“ She looks like the Luna who locked away Raven all those years ago” he said

How could it be, everybody from the Luna's time should be dead by now, how could this old man know what Riverine looked like

“ I can't be mistaken, I saw it through the eyes of my ancestors, she is the one.” the old man added.

The murmurs of the crowd grew louder and I could feel the hostility from them.

“ I think there are here to get Raven back” the old man said

“ But not on our watch” another voice shouted from the crowd

There was nowhere to run to, they had circled us, we were actually done for today.

Devon drew out his sword ready to fight, when I held his hands trying to stop him , but instead we found ourselves in another location.

I looked at my hand and looked back at Devon,with shock , his face had equal amount of shock

“ Did you do this” I asked still staring at my now shaking hands

“ I'm not the one with powers or related to a witch” he said chuckling nervously

I also laughed nervously “ at least it saved out asses” “ but where the hell are we” I asked

I looked at the compass and we were still on the right path

“ Looks like we are still on the right path” he said looking at the compass

“ Since, you can do whatsoever that was, I think it would be faster to find the witch that way” he added

I nodded and held his hands again, willing myself to disappear, but nothing happened.

I closed my eyes, hoping more concentration would activate my powers , but nothing happened.

I looked to Devon, shaking my head with disappointment.

He drew me to himself and hugged me “ it's ok, we can walk, we've already walked this far, it should be somewhere close” he said

I nodded in his arms, “ let's get going then” I said

We continued walking following the compass with just the crescent moon as our only source of light.

We walked for a while before I saw a very high wall ahead

“ I think we are there,” I said with a big smile.

We got closer to the wall , and tried walking around it, to find an entrance into whatever laid behind those walls.

“ There's no gate , just endless walls” Devon said softly

I looked at the compass but it was still pointing straight at the wall,

“ How do we pass this wall” I muttered to myself

We had already come this far , almost got attacked by the people of the forbidden clan, and we were stopped by a wall.

“ The priestess said we have all it takes to find the witch, how come she never said anything about an impregnable wall” Devon asked, kicking the wall hard

I knew how he felt, I felt that way too, disappointment and so much anger at being this close and not being able to go in.

Just then everything faded from my sight, Devon was no longer there and the wall was also not there.

I was standing in an open space, but I wasn't alone , I could feel someone coming to me from behind , I tried to reach for my knife but my bag was also not here

I slowly turned, and I saw my face looking back at me with a gentle smile

“ Hi Skyler”

I was left speechless

“ Riveri..” “ Luna” I immediately corrected myself

“ I am Riverine,before Luna” she said calmly

I still looked at her in awe, it was like I was also the one standing there

“ We look just alike” I finally managed to get out

“ The moon goddess has a way with things” she replied

I finally remembered my distress

“ Riverine, we have gotten so close to your sister, but we cannot breach her wall , I really do not know what to do” I said, my voice almost breaking

She held my hands gently “ you are so powerful, more powerful than you know” her hands moved toy cheeks “ you can do it , remember the greatest weapon you have against her is your blood.”

After she said that she started retreating back , I still had more questions to ask, but she disappeared.

I finally started hearing my name , and I opened my eyes .

I was in Devon's arms and we were on the ground. His Face was full of worry

“ Are you ok” he asked his hands caressing my face

I nodded , standing up with his help

“ I think I have an idea,” I told him .

“ What is it” he asked
