The priestess stood up again , her back hunched with age and made her way to the shelf neatly arranged with books and scrolls. She brought out the brown covered book, she showed Killian when he came earlier and came back to her seat
She looked at everyone of them, “ I'm sure , you're brother has filled you in on everything you need to know my dear” she asked her eyes resting on Skyler
“ Yes priestess, he confirmed my doubt that this witch needs my life to be fully free”Skyler said calmly, her hands tightening around Devon's.
“ No my dear” the priestess shook her head “ I've read through books , and I've consulted those before me . It needs your blood not your life, it could kill you as revenge,but your blood is the main key.”
Everybody looked at the priestess confused
“ But the Luna had to kill herself” Killian asked
“ Yes , she did” the priestess said “ because she was a sister to Raven, born on the same night of the full moon by the same mother. They were a special twin , and Riverine wouldn't have lived with herself knowing she killed her sister.”
“ But Raven did not die” Skyler added
The priestess nodded “ Raven, became a powerful witch, Riverine had not yet fully accessed her powers, so she did what she thought would be best for everybody and keep everyone safe.”
“ So how do we stop her for good” Devon finally asked
“ She has to be stabbed through the heart with a weapon stained with your blood “ she replied
“ But we can't see her” Killian added
“ I know that” the priestess said with a sad smile “ you would have to set her free fully before anything else”
“ What?” the hall room said simultaneously
The room fell into a great silence
“ Wouldn't that cause a great chaos” Devon asked breaking my silence
“ Not if , we are quick with it the priestess continued” immediate we release her we would take the knife to her chest.”
“ When I consulted those before me, they said she has a vessel already “ she turned to Devon “ she possessed one of your people. This vessel said the acceptance word and accepted Raven into her body”
“ How did anybody from my pack know the words” Devon asked his face hardening
“ Her book is still there” she replied “ and now it's in her possession”
“ So what can we do “ Skyler asked
The room fell into silence again as nobody had an answer to Skyler's question
Beta Brandon who had been quiet since they came in finally spoke “If I may Alphas”
Killian nodded indicating he could go ahead
“ Why don't we bring the possessed to an open space and when the witch is released we could stab her directly without anyone getting hurt “ Lois said
They all pondered on his idea before Devon asked “ but how do we know the possessed.”
“ I think I know,” Skyler said, looking at Devon. “ Freya was the last person who had the book , so it would have been in her room right.”
“ Yes” Devon nodded
“ When I went to see Lisa in the dungeon” she continued” she told me that somebody lost her sister because of me, and we know we lost Freya , but who else could have lost her.”
“ Freya was an orphan” Devon countered “ she was small and had no family member when my father brought her to the palace”
“ Maybe that was what we were made to believe” Skyler continued “ How did Ella come to the palace.”
“ Freya found her in the forest, she was wounded and running away from her pack because of a war, so we took her in and made her a servant.” Devon said, his face changing as the pieces started to add up
“ When I was before the council , Freya was so sure something would be in my diary, and we know that it was Ella who wrote those things in my diary” she swallowed. “ I had never offended her so why would she do that to me unless she was fighting for another person.”
The realization finally dawned on Devon and he understood
“ So this Ella ,is the one possessed?” Killian asked
“ I'm not sure yet , just a theory, she would have gone into the room while we were away and come in contact with the book.”
“ So how do we confirm if she’s the one” Beta Lois asked
“ We take a risk” Skyler continued “ and for that we need Devon”
“ Me? How?”
“ Yes you,” she nodded “pass a message to Beta Brandon telling him to inform the servants of your passing, and he should tell them not to officially inform anyone till the Luna comes back ”
“ And he should also inform them that the Luna was in the forest between our pack and the reading leading to the Blue moon pack with the Alpha's corpse”
“ And what then” Killian ask
“We would wait for the possessed there, you guys would hide away and let her use me for the ritual of freedom, and when she is free , one of you shoots an arrow coated in my blood straight into her heart”
“ No,” Devon said, standing up immediately,”I'm not letting you get close enough for her to hurt you , this plan is a no no.”
“ I can help with that,” the priestess said, standing up and going to the shelf. “ Although it is forbidden , I know a little black magic.”
“Black magic” Skyler questioned
“ Yes black magic” the priestess replied
She came back to her seat with a black book , she gently goes through it searching for something and when she sees it she smiles
“ I could fill a lifeless doll with your blood and it would come to life”.
