Chapter 166 Under Attack
LISA's POV
After a while , I finally started moving when no one came to the place I hid. I started going to the servants' chambers as carefully as I could, praying not to be spotted, but just then, the emergency alarm sounded out.

It felt like I was trapped in a nightmare, as I saw guards pouring in from different rooms in the palace, it was even a fight because the guards overpowered the group.

As I ran back, I saw Roland on the way and I told him to follow me to the car, let's get out of this place.

“ I can't leave my friends,” he said. “ It would be dishonorable to do that, just go back to the car and drive back home.

“ This is the wrong time to think about honour, to hell with honour ” I whispered” we lost all honour when we plotted against the Alpha”

“ Come with me” I begged

He shakes his head and moved me towards the dungeon urging me to move faster

Just then two guards rushed to him, he fought with them, I stood behind and waited thinking I could still convince him.

Just then one of the guards knife went into his belly, and it felt  like the world had stopped

I didn't know when I screamed, one of the guards noticed me , and brought me out from where I squatted.

I didn't fight, I couldn't even if I tried, it felt like I was drained. I may try so hard to deny it ,but living with Roland these past months made me feel safe so much that I developed feelings for him .

He was a gentleman, he never invaded my privacy, and always made sure I felt comfortable around him .He was a man who rarely showed his emotions, but those few minutes I could make him laugh were good.

I suspected he didn't just release me for the plan of the group, I knew he liked me , the way he treated me said that much ,but I felt it was never going to work out  because I deluded myself with the idea that I was in love with Devon, until now. 

Skyler's POV

As I dashed out of the room, I moved towards the corridor where the emergency alarm was , I slowed down a bit as I noticed dead guards everywhere, they had their necks broken, some had stab wounds on their neck, I placed both hands on my mouth in shock.

They had killed a lot of innocent people, I gently started stepping slowly so as not to trip over a body. I reeled back as I saw one of them standing close to the emergency alarm.

I knew I had to get to it , and fast as Devon would need all the help he can get. I was peeping from the end of the turn at that corridor and just then he paused, his eyes landing on me.

I could feel my heart in my throat, as I ran back and his in one of the servants room,I knew I had to cause a distraction, so I woke up the maid sleeping

She groggily woke up, rubbing her eyes for a while, she finally noticed it was me and when she wanted to speak out loud I shushed her

“ Pls, do not shout , the palace is under attack” I whispered

I saw her eyes widened with surprise and she looked around in panic

“ There's no one here now, but I want you to do something for me” I added

She nodded her head “ what can I do for you Luna” she said, her voice barely audible

“ You would have to distract one of them for me while I ring the alarm bell” I continued “ you would wear my dress and move towards the opposite direction, and when I ring the alarm bell, you run towards the guards. Is that clear”

She paused, she knew it was dangerous, if she wants fast she may lose  her life .

“ Would,you be fast with that alarm” she asked

“ Yes I would”

She nodded with trust in her eyes ,and stood up ready to switch outfits with me .

We both changed into each other's clothes, I held her hands tightly one more time . She nodded, took a breath and left the room , I watched with the door slightly open.

The intruder finally noticed and started walking briskly towards her , while she moved to the guards room.

I immediately ran to the alarm and rang it.

The guards in the palace were not only skilled, but properly trained , as just at the first ring of the alarm, guards started trooping out from rooms in the palace, with their weapons in hand

Beta Brandon ran towards him me , still on his nightwear but his face was devoid of any trace of sleep

“ What's wrong ,Luna” he asked steadily

“ The palace is under attack and we need to get to Devon immediately” I half yelled , trying hard not to break down.

We started moving back to the room, when I felt running wasn't enough, I broke into a run , I could feel Brandon and some guards on my tail.

When I got to the room , the sight was gruesome, Jason's face and neck were torn open, and Devon was stained with blood , lying down to the left.

I got closer and realized that the blood on Devon wasn't Jason's blood, and that he was bleeding profusely , I screamed kneeling close to him as I cradled his unconscious body.

Bolts of pain ran through my sides as I could feel the pains from his stab wounds.

Beta Brandon was at my side immediately, trying to calm me down

“ I've called the healer, his on his way” he said calmly his eyes on Devon

Just then the healer came in and Beta Brandon helped him out the Alpha on the bed, before we were all sent out. I didn't feel like going out . I wanted to be with Devon but the healer insisted.

I needed to do what was best for him , right now , so we went out to the hallway and waited.

I couldn't stay still , so I paced the hallway “ I can't lose you, Devon” I repeated so many times to myself like a chant .
