Chapter 164 Ambushing the Palace

The alarm clock rang at exactly two am that night, they all became alert and started preparing. Roland tapped Lisa who had already fallen asleep and urged her to wake up .

After a while Lisa finally stood up and joined them in preparing, they went outside and stood by Grayson's car, they had agreed earlier on to use his car, as he had the biggest car which would contain them all .

Grayson, Darion , Dolan and Jason sat at the back of the car, while Lisa sat at the driver's side and Roland at the other side.

She drove them towards the palace and when they had almost gotten to the gate , they took a left turn , and went on ahead, after driving for a while they took another left turn.

On the end of the road was a cave, and when Lisa stopped the car they all came out except her

“It's a simple road”, she said “when you enter the cave, just move straight and when you start seeing the light , turn towards your right it's normally covered with a big stone, but the guards that sneak out , leave a little space so they can come back in.”

“Ok” the group replied her

“ Stay safe” she said to them as they entered the cave, only Roland turned back to her and replied “You too.”

The cave was dark, damp and humid,Dolan brought a flashlight, so he put it on, and they walked on , when they started seeing the lights they turned to their right and as Lisa said the opening they were to enter from wasn't fully closed , so they rolled the stone fully away.

When they stepped in, they moved quietly to the entrance of the dungeon, careful enough not to alert anyone of their presence. Two guards were stationed, just at the door of the dungeon , Grayson and Darion looked at themselves and ducked, moving quietly towards them, before the guards could realize what was going on, they broke their neck.

They continued outside the dungeon, silently breaking the necks of guards on the watch.

While the others stationed themselves at different places, Jason went to the Alpha's room.

There were two guards stationed just outside the Alpha's room, so Jason signaled Grayson from where he was to cause a. distraction downstairs.

Grayson threw a knife and it made loud noises

“ Did you hear that” one of the guards asked

“ Let me go over there and check it out” the other replied moving towards the source of the noise

Immediately he left , Jason came out and slit the throat or the one still there, and entered the room.

Skyler's POV

When the room door opened, I woke thinking Devon had come to bed, but the footsteps sounded suspicious,and I couldn't perceive the the wildberries that I usually associate with my mate, I became alert immediately , and when the person that entered, raised a knife to stab me on the bed, immediately moved to the other side of the bed.

“ It's just you here” a voice asked

“ Who are you” I countered “ and what do you want”

I put on the bedside lamp and I could clearly see the person, it was one of the younger members of Devon's council, and he held a very sharp knife that glinted jn the light.

I ran towards the door, but before I could make it ,he caught me and held the knife to my throat. I knew the exact time Devon felt my distress from his office , and I knew he was on his way here.

“If you kill me, you can't escape the palace alive, you know right” I said trying to hide the fear in my voice.

“ I'll decide that, but for now, shut the fuck up or tell me where the Alpha is”he said

“ You can ask him yourself” I replied , and just then the door to our room opened and Devin entered inside , his face neutral but I could feel the pounding of his heart, there was recognition in his eyes, he knew who this was.

As he stepped in , the intruder held the knife tighter to my neck and it nipped me.

Devon slowly accessed me, checking for any form of injury

“I'm not hurt” I said , not out loud but I knew he heard me because he heaved  a sigh of Relief

He turned to the intrude” Jason what is this about, why is there a knife to your Luna's neck”

“ She's not my Luna, she is just a cursed piece of shit” Jason replied

I could see Devon's jaw tighten and his eyes were red from fury

“ Don't fall for it, he is trying to make you loose control” I said in my thought

And I was surprised he heard me

“ He is doing a fine job at it” he said back into my mind

At that point I knew a mind link was formed but that was not the time to dwell on it.

“ You're making the mistake of your father” Devon said to him “ but I can forgive you, if you leave me Luna and walk out of the palace, I would act like this night never happened”

“ It's too late now Devon” Jason retorted “ I've come too far, I'm more fit to be Alpha , I'm not easily distracted by cunts, and it was supposed to be from lineage, when your forefathers stole it from us, my father died trying to get back what was ours from the start.”

“ When he is distracted, kick his knees with all your strength, duck and run straight for the emergency alarm” I heard Devon say in my mind

I blinked to tell him I understood

“ You know you can't win , I've killed one of your friends, I think Darion ,” Devon said with a wicked smile “ and I'll kill the rest of you one after another.”

This angered Jason a lot and he pressed the knife further into my neck causing blood to trickle down

The sight made Devon's eye turn red

“ If you dare change or try to come closer, I'll slit her throat before you do either.” Jason said , a little shaken from the fury , he saw in Devon's eyes

“ Let her go, and I'll come to you” Devon said softly “ it's me you really want right, it's my position you're after, you won't get it if you go after her.

Jason broke into a hysterical laugh “So you think , I'm stupid, if I let her go , you'll come to me.”

He laughed again and I couldn't feel the knife on my throat, he was distracted at the very moment I heard Devon in my mind “ now”

I kicked his knee as hard as I could, and before he could get himself, I pushed him , ducked and ran outside the room.
