Chapter 16: Lone

“How are you?” Edgar said to Brandon that sat on his bed.

“I’m fine just a little bit lonely” Brandon said giving off a sad smile.

“You’ll get better soon” Elaine said to him and his eyes brightened up a bit.

“Thank you my Lady, its so generous of you to come visit me” Brandon said smiling at her and she smiled back.

“And you’re not going to thank me? “ Edgar said feigning jealousy.

“I’ll leave you two now, I’ll be in the dinning room Eddy” Elaine said as she walked out the door.

“Damn, she’s beautiful” Brandon said immediately she walked out the door.

“Don’t even dare” Edgar said with a death stare on his face.

“You’re in love with her” Brandon said in realization.

“That’s none of your business Bran, you are supposed to focus on your health” Edgar said looking away as he didn’t want Brandon’s scrutinizing eyes to meet mine.

“Wow, Eddy I think she likes you too” Brandon said with a smiley face.

“I’m not sure about that, she sees me as a good friend that is there for her and I’ll like to keep it that way” Edgar said looking a little bit shy.

“Good luck in doing that, she must have already noticed that you like her” Brandon said lazily as he pretended to be going to sleep.

“Is it obvious?” Edgar said curious

“Yes, and it is very obvious that she feels the same way about you” Brandon said excited about this topic.

“And what if she doesn’t?” Edgar said looking conflicted.

"I don't know, Ed. But you won't know unless you try. Maybe she's waiting for you to make the first move" Brandon said shrugging his shoulders.

"I don't want to bring more chaos into her life life. Taking back my throne as Alpha comes with a lot of responsibilities and danger. I don't want her to get hurt because of me." Edgar sighed, conflicted.

"I get it, Ed. But sometimes, you have to take risks for love. You can't let fear hold you back from happiness. Besides, Elaine seems like a strong and independent woman. Maybe she's willing to take that risk with you." Brandon nodded understandingly.

Edgar pondered Brandon's words, realizing that he had a point. Maybe it was time to let go of his fears and take a chance on love. He just hopes this will not bring harm to her in the nearest future.
