34. T. H. A

With her boyfriend calling for the tenth time. Kiran sighed and finally answered her call whilst Seth drove.

“Hello?”

**“Kiran, where are you?”**

“I’m hanging out with Seth.”

**“Whose Seth, baby?”** Henry asked in his calm tone. He knew who Seth was, he was an annoying punk that kept on popping up in his girlfriend's life, like a weasel.

“You met him the other night at the restaurant. You know, he’s my ex’s best friend and my friend.” Kiran reminded.

**“Oh, you mean that cop friend of yours?”** Henry replied facading his annoyed tone.

“Yeah!”

**“Well where are you, can I join you guys and hang out too?”**

“No, you can’t. Seth and I are heading somewhere out of town.”

Henry took a long while before he spoke back.

**“Should I be worried Kiran?”**

Kiran finally caught on to the fact that her man was jealous. She held in her laugh. Her relationship with Seth was an immediate friend zone. A strictly friend zone. Besides, Seth never gave her any signs that he was into her. She knew that he valued her friendship, just as she valued his.

“No, you shouldn’t now will you relax I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Kiran cut the call, before he said anything else to her.

Henry could easily locate her on his device and asked Mark to discreetly track her, when he saw her tracking signal disappear from his tracker on the phone.

Seth drove through the deep woods and pulled the glove box open. He pulled out a sleeping mask out.

“We’re almost there, can you please wear this?”

“Why?”

“Unfortunately, outsiders are not allowed to come to this place.”

“If this is a heavily guarded place, won’t they notice?”

“Not when I take a short cut.”

Kiran placed the mask on and Seth drover faster, noticing a car behind them.

“Seth?” Kiran called his name worriedly as she felt the car suddenly speed up, scaring her.

“I’ve got a tail on my back, I’m just shaking them off.”

He turned sharply into a cave and drove in, the car followed but with one press of a button the wall of the cave opened up, and Seth drove through and drifted his car fast

catching a glimpse of the mysterious dark tinted car, that stopped just as the secret wall of the cave, came down, blocking him off.

Seth then parked his car nearby a bush.

“You can remove your mask, Kiran. We’re here.”

Kiran removed her mask and saw the huge welcome board.

“Welcome to T H A?”

“The Hunters Association.” Seth announced as they walked through the gates.

Seth pulled out a couple of matching hats to go with their attire. He placed her hat on her and placed a couple of strands of hair behind her ear.

“There. Keep you’re head low and let me do the talking. I know you have questions but I promise I’ll answer all of them once we get inside.”

Kiran nodded her head in understanding and followed Seth’s lead.

As she walked by, she saw people in camouflaged uniforms too. Some had red looking eyes and Kiran gasped out as she saw a couple literally making love up against a tree.

“Don’t look.” Seth placed a hand over her shoulder guiding her into another direction.

Kiran heard sounds of sexual moans escaping from nearby tents as they passed the camp sight.

“What’s going on Seth?” Kiran whispered but Seth didn’t answer her.

Two soldier like people came their way and stopped infront of them. Kiran stood behind Seth and placed her head down to the ground.

“Is this a new recruit, or a stress relief?” Asked a tall looking guy, that went to dip her head upwards. Before he could even do that. Seth grabbed his hand and crushed it hard

in his, making the guy groan out of pain.

“S-Seth!” Kiran said gripping his arm.

“She’s not a ‘stress relief’ Bobby. She’s a new recruit, now give me those pills, I need to show her how to take it.”

Bobby immediately handed Seth the pills and went on his way with his ‘high’ looking friend.

“What was all that about?”

“C’mon, we need to go this way.”

Seth said crushing the pills to the ground once they were gone. He took her by her hand and led her into a different part of the woods.

Kiran followed as they walked out base camp. Seth led her towards a cliff area.

“We need to crawl towards the edge. They’ll be bringing the wolves over soon.”

“Wolves?”

“Nathan didn’t tell you at all about this place did he?”

Kiran shook her head in response.

“No, he didn’t. He just told me he enrolled himself into police academy.”

Seth sighed.

“He lied. I did. Nathan was never a qualified cop. He failed the test due to the drugs they found in his system. The Academy kicked him out because of it. So he joined the T. H. A on a full time basis.”

“What drugs did he take?” Kiran curiously asked.

Seth pulled out a red pill in a shape of an oval.

“T. H. A makes these drugs. They’re known as Soldier Pills. They’re illegal. It’s a powerful strength enhancing drug. When one consumes it, you get a feel of high adrenaline rush that can make you run faster than a normal person, and make muscles stronger like Hulk.” Seth sighed out. Unfortunatly although he wasn't an addict, he heavily relied upon them to defeat his enemies.

“Nathan took those didn’t he?”

Seth nodded.

“Do you take them as well?”

“Yes, I do unfortunatly.”

Kiran shot him a puzzled look.

“How come you’re eyes aren’t red like most of the soldiers I saw back at camp.”

“Because I take them in short doses. Never have the whole pill. It has bad side effects on the human body.”

“Such as?”

“I took the pill to my drug department and had it analysed. I found out that the pill contains, steroids, cocaine, Viagra and caffine combined. The drug is bottomline bad. Nathan got addicted to it since he loved the power he got from it, and he also loved it because…”

“Don’t mention the rest, I know what he did Seth. Last time I was with Nathan, he confessed that he cheated on me and he tried to…”

“He tried to what Kiran?”

“He tried to rape me out in the woods that day.” Kiran’s eyes watered and Seth sighed holding her hand in his, comforting her.

“I’m sorry he did that to you. I tried to get him to stop, but he didn’t listen. He became very aggressive towards me and my friends. Anger, aggression and the need to have sex had become part of his weekly routine. Nathan unfortunately became heavily addicted.” Seth explained and Kiran nodded in understanding, as she experienced the same changes in him when she was last with him.

Nathan wasn’t Nathan. The evil pill made him the devil that day.

“Our Nathan wasn’t like this in school Seth? What made him take these drugs so badly?”

Suddenly they heard shuffling from below them.

Kiran’s eyes went wide in shock when a huge wolf howled through the air coming out from the middle of the trees. Two hunters chased behind it with their riffle and shot it

dead, right below them. Before Kiran let out a startled scream from her mouth Seth pulled her close and clamped her mouth shut.

“This one will make a fine coat.”

“I’m just glad this rogue is dead.”

Spoke the other.

Kiran’s eyes watered with tears as she saw them dragging the huge dead wolf’s body away into the woods.

Once they were gone Seth released her mouth and stood up.

“They shot the wolf dead? Wh-Why w-would t-they dd…Do that? Isn’t h-hunting illegal in- in this part of the state.”

Seth helped her up to her feet.

“Yes, it is Kiran. But what they killed wasn’t just a wolf.”

“What?”

“It was a werewolf.”

Kiran pushed Seth by his chest and shook her head in disbelief.

“You’re lying, they killed an animal.”

“Kiran, I know this is hard to belief, but I brought you here to help you jog your memory. I’m sorry. I need to know what that wolf that killed Nathan looked like?”

“Seth…”

“Please, Kiran. Even if Nathan was a total jerk at the end, he didn’t deserve to die ruthlessly like that. Now will you tell me what it looked like?”

“I can’t clearly remember. It had the strangest fur I’d ever seen, of black and dark blue…”

“Ok, and what about the eyes? Did you manage to see it’s eyes?”

Kiran suddenly fell faint as if he triggered a bad memory. She could never forget it’s eyes, when it chased her out in the woods that day. Just before Kiran went down to the ground, Seth steadied her by pulling her close to him.

“They were glowing silver, like the moon.”

Her heart raced and Kiran suddenly fainted on Seth.

He was stunned at what she decribed to him. A wolf with silver glowing eyes could only mean one thing. She came across an Alpha ranking wolf who killed her best friend. He'd need more than one pill to take him down. Unluckily he had no idea, who the Alpha wolf was. No, Seth would have to keep an eye out for this mystery wolf she encounterd. Overall he knew it was going to be hard, no one in the T. H. A had ever caught an Alpha before.

“Ok. Time, to get you home.”

Seth piggy backed her the rest of the way and got her to his car.

Kiran smelt a bad scent by her nose and snapped her eyes open.

“Urgh what is that.”

“Skunk.” Seth chuckled placing his strong soft buds in a compact device away. He then opened up a fresh bottle of mineral water. Kiran took it and smiled at him in apprication. Seth always liked taking care of her, even when Nathan was away.

“You brought me back to the car?”

She asked sipping the cool drink and quenching her thirst.

“I had no choice when you passed out like that, especially when I told you about the werewolves.”

Kiran huffed and shook her head.

“This place is bad Seth. They’re hunting innocent woodland creatures.”

“No, they’re protecting the people from getting murdered and mauled by them.” Seth argued back, making Kiran sigh.

“I’d like to go home now.”

He figured and nodded handing her the eye mask back.

“You know the drill.”

Kiran rolled her eyes and placed it on.

“And no peeking.”

Just like before, Seth drove her back out of the secret spot and got her home.

Once he did so.

Kiran got out of his car.

Seth got out too and stopped her by his hand coming over her shoulder.

“Wait, you forgot this.”

He was just about to hand back her hat she forgot on his seat, when suddenly she was pulled away from him.

Henry then sucker punched Seth angrily after scenting his scent all over her.

“Stay away from my girlfriend.”

Angered by his punch. Seth huffed and sucker punched Henry back with great force, thanks to his small consumption of the illegal super drug.

“Maybe, I won’t.”

Henry spit out blood and dodged out of Seth’s way when he went to strike him again. But Kiran came fast and pushed Seth away from her boyfriend.

“Stop it Seth and cool off!” Kiran fired as she noticed his eyes going red.

If Henry wished, he could crush Seth like a bug. Obviously, he wouldn't dare to that infront of Kiran. No, Henry would get Seth back and when he did, he wouldn't see him coming.

Straightening his attire, Seth walked away darkly and concentrated on the information that Kiran provided before she fainted earlier on and drove off in a heat of anger.

Kiran then marched into her apartment building with Henry following behind her.
