The chapter opens with Arande still standing in the hallway, watching as Nikolai's car disappears through the mansion gates.
A slow smile appears on her lips.
She is satisfied.
Everything has gone exactly as she planned.
The maid has taken the blame, Nikolai believes someone else tried to drug him, and once again, she has managed to escape suspicion.
But the smile does not last long.
Her mind returns to the question that has been bothering her.
Nikkolai was definitely going to see Ariana again.
But There is something she still cannot understand.
Why does Nikolai care so much?
There has to be a reason, she muttered to herself.
Flashback: The Previous Night.
Before going to sleep, Arande had walked toward the shelf inside her bedroom where she kept one of her handbags.
She carefully opened it and removed a small hidden packet containing the drug she had used on Nikolai.
A satisfied smile appeared on her face.
She knew exactly what she had to do.
If Nikolai continued investigating, he would eventually discover the truth.
She needed someone else to carry the blame.
Quietly, she left her room and walked through the mansion.
The entire house was silent.
The maids' quarters were dark, and everyone was already asleep.
Arande carefully entered the room of the maid who had served Nikolai's water.
She moved quietly, making sure nobody noticed her.
After finding the maid's clothes, she carefully placed the packet inside them.
She looked at the hidden drug one last time before leaving.
A small smile appeared on her lips.
The maid would become the person everyone blamed.
Present Time
Arande walks back into her bedroom, She sits down, lost in thought.
She knows this is only the beginning.
She cannot allow Nikolai to keep choosing Arianna again
And She cannot allow her to destroy everything she has worked for.
Just then, her phone rings.
She looks at the screen.
A familiar name appears.
It was dean, her secret lover
Her expression changes slightly before she answers.
Then a deep masculine voice comes through the phone.
“Hello, baby ”
With thatShe smiles softly.
The man tells her that he has missed her and asks when they will meet again.
He reminds her that no matter what happens, he is always willing to help her.
Then he asks: “What is your next move, what is she planning?
Arande remains quiet for a moment.
She tells him that Nikolai is becoming difficult to get
The man laughs softly before saying, no matter what she should give up.. everything will later work into her plan.
Arande frowns and mutters that he kept going to Ariana, and she can't really take it anymore, then she explained about what she noticed about Noah', the alegic that it's the same as Nikkolai.
With that dean replied saying something us really making sense here.
That statement catches her attention.
Then dean added , telling her to think carefully.
Why would Nikolai be so protective of Arianna when Noah isn't his son?
A child who supposedly belongs to another man.
His voice becomes serious.
“Tell me something, Arande. Do you really believe Nikolai would risk everything for another man's child?”
Arande becomes silent.
The question stays in her mind.
The man continues.
“There is something about Noah. We have to start looking into it.”
Arande immediately sits up and mutters.
“What should we do now”
The man explains that he discovered Noah does have a father, so they need to meet up with him and find out if he's really the father of the child.
They need proof before making any move.
Then he says:
“What if Noah's father is not the man Arianna claims? What if the person we are looking for has been right in front of us all along?”
Arande's heart stops for a moment.
Immediately, her mind flashes back to Noah's allergic reaction again
The same allergy Nikolai has.
The same strange coincidence she has been unable to ignore.
Her expression changes.
A terrifying possibility enters her mind.
No.
It cannot be true.
But what if Noah is actually Nikolai's son?
If that is true, then Arianna has been hiding the biggest secret of all.
And Nikolai has unknowingly been protecting his own child.
The thought drives her crazy.
She tells the man they need to find out the truth immediately.
Before anyone else discovers it.
After ending the call, Arande stands in front of the mirror.
Her face is filled with a mixture of fear and anger.
She knows she cannot ignore this anymore.
She needs answers.
She needs to know who Noah truly belongs to.
Because if Noah is Nikolai's son...
Then Arianna is the woman who holds the future Arande has been fighting for.
The chapter ends with Arande whispering:
"I need to know the truth."
