The Golden Floor Deal

The Golden Floor Deal

Tracy stepped into the elevator and took a deep breath.

Her heart beat fast, not just from nerves, but because she had to change.

She had to become the version of herself that could handle this. The confident one, the one who did not show fear.

The elevator moved up smoothly. After some minutes, it dinged softly.

Then the doors opened to the golden floor, the VIP section of the hotel.

Tracy stepped out. Her heels clicked gently on the hallway tiles at first, but then the sound changed as she reached the thick carpet.

The air smelled of cheap air freshener mixed with a little cigarette smoke. It was the kind of smell that told stories of late nights and hidden meetings.

The lights were soft and golden. They did not shine too bright. It felt like the hotel wanted to keep everything calm and private.

She walked slowly, counting the doors as she passed. Room 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06… Her steps were steady, but her mind raced.

Finally, she stood in front of Room 10.
She paused for a second. Then she knocked twice, clean and confident.

There was a quiet click. The lock turned. The door opened slowly.

A man stood there, wearing only a white towel around his waist. Water still dripped from his hair. Tracy’s eyes widened.

It was Gareth. Before she could speak, he smiled and said, “Hi, how are you, Tracy?”

He moved aside to let her in. Tracy formed a smile on her face. “I’m fine. And you?” she replied.

Then she walked in calmly, keeping her head high. As she entered, she looked around the room. It was neat and clean.

A large king-size bed sat in the middle, covered with fresh white sheets. One dim lamp glowed softly on the side table. A glass with some drink stood beside the lamp. Everything looked tidy, like no one had been careless.

Then her eyes moved to the couch, where Hasley was sitting, looking elegant.

She wore a beautiful cream-colored dress that hugged her body gently.

The dress had long sleeves and a simple gold necklace rested on her neck. Her hair was styled perfectly, and her makeup was light but expensive-looking. She sat with her legs crossed, calm and in control.

Tracy did not recognize her at first. But in that moment, she knew. This was the woman Gareth had with him.
Hasley stared at Tracy fully and smiled. “Oh dear, welcome. You look good. Come, have your seat beside me.”

Tracy felt a wave of relief. She thought Halsey must be kind. “Thanks, ma,” She said softly.

She walked over, dropped her small purse on the table, and sat gently beside her on the couch.

“So… you are my stepson’s ex?” Halsey asked. She used the question to start the conversation.

At the same time, Gareth walked to the corner of the room and closed the door with a soft slam. Tracy turned her head slightly and glared in that direction.

The image of Gareth in just a towel came back to her. It looked like something had happened between him and Halsey before she arrived.

She could not be sure. She was only just meeting them. She turned back and looked at Halsey.

Halsey threw another question at her. “You really love my stepson, right?”

Tracy looked surprised. Step son? The words confused her.

Halsey noticed her reaction and chuckled lightly. “Don’t be shocked, dear. I can see it all written on your face. Well, Adrian is my stepson. I am his father’s new wife. I am Halsey, and you can call me Mrs. Coker.”

The words felt heavy in Tracy’s heart. For a moment, it seemed like a joke. But she knew it was real. Everything was true. Yet one thing still confused her. Why would Halsey want to help her get Adrian back? There had to be more to this.

Halsey smiled again. “You have a lot going on in your mind, dear. I am really surprised you did not recognize me at first. Feel free with me. You can say everything you want to say.”

“Oh yeah, I am really surprised. I am sorry I did not recognize you in time,” Tracy said. She tried to hide the shock in her eyes.

“It is okay,” Halsey replied. “I know Adrian hates you now. He does not even want to be close to you. Not only you, dear. He hates his family too. He hates his father now, and he even hates me, his stepmother. He does not want to associate with anyone.

Tracy listened quietly. Halsey continued, “But I feel that once you enter his life again, you can make everything possible. I will make Adrian yours again.”

Those last words rang like hope in Tracy’s ears. She smiled a small smile. She knew Halsey was powerful. She could surely do it. At that moment, Tracy did not feel any doubt.

Just then, the bathroom door opened. Gareth came out. He was now fully dressed in a simple shirt and trousers. He walked closer to them. His eyes met Tracy’s. “Adrian will finally be yours,” he said, “like I have told you before.”

Gareth then sat on the edge of the bed. He leaned back a little and added, “Now the next thing is to know how to get him.”

Tracy looked back at Halsey. She waited for her to speak.
Halsey cleared her throat softly. “Before I let you know the plan to make Adrian yours, you will have to sign an agreement. You must follow everything you are asked to do.”

Tracy’s heart skipped. She wondered what they were really talking about. An agreement? What did it mean? She looked from Halsey to Gareth and back again. “Is there more to this?” she asked quietly.

The room felt suddenly quieter. The dim lamp cast long shadows on the walls. Tracy sat still, waiting for answers. She had come here for help, but now questions filled her mind. What exactly was this agreement? And what would she have to do to get Adrian back?

Halsey smiled calmly, but her eyes showed there was more. Gareth watched her too, his face serious. Tracy knew this meeting was just the beginning. Whatever came next, it would not be simple.
