THE DAUGHTER'S WAR
THE DAUGHTER'S WAR
Chapter 174.
3rd person's pov.
It was one hell of a night.
Monsters against monsters, a fight that would determine the fate of every life there was. Each in a heated batten of their own.
Warren challenged two mighty wolves, Safari and Denzel. Men who he couldn't bring himself to harm but at the same time, he couldn't let himself be caught in the rage of sharp claws or snarling fangs.
They weren't in their right minds, couldn't tell the difference between formed or foe.
While Warren battled with his own delima with the help of Lyra who also couldn't harm her husband.
Finch faced his daughter, his heart brewing with pain and hurt as he overheard all she had to say, about his soulmate.
They stared at each other long and hard, Sage's hair disheveled, raking it backwards with her fingers, she took a deep breath and stared her father down, “Move out of the way father,”
“It's been so long, Sage, this is how you address me?” His voice filled with hurt, he hadn't seen his daughter for quite some time and his heart bled even more after hearing the reason she did all of this.
He had eavesdropped on their conversation and he couldn't believe she had been plagued by the same nightmare as he had.
She had been hurting the entire time, and her quest of vengeance fuelled with each passing day.
“You don't understand father, I am doing this for all of us, you can't let her complete that spell,” she rushed forward, lunging towards the trip in the pentagon circle.
However, Finch was ahead of her, putting a barrier before her before throwing her backwards, “I can't let you do that,” a resolve settled in his heart, he might have not wanted to hurt her, but he would do whatever it took to save the wolves, the witches and everyone involved from his hurt daughter.
Sage laughed as she jumped to her feet once more, her rage only increasing as she realised the one person stopping her from setting things right, the one person who should have understood where she was coming from was the one person who blocked her path now, “Now I really believe you never loved mom,”
This stung Finch deeply, shattering his fragile heart especially when it came to his soulmate, “and I believe you don't either, this isn't even your idea, it's that maniac Jacob, I need you to stop this, now,”
Sage scoffed, “It was my idea as much as it was his, because I loved him, and I would do anything for him whether he was alive or dead, I can't say the same about you,” blood trickled down her nostrils.
“I LOVED YOUR MOTHER, DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THIS WAS WHAT SHE WOULD HAVE WANTED IF SHE WAS ALIVE,” Finch exploded.
Never for once did he think he would have to yell at his daughter in this manner. Finch knew his soulmate more than anyone, and this was by far not what she would have wanted
“What's the difference between you and the werewolves who had ended her?”
Sage's fist bawled beside her, hot tears gathering at the corner of her eyes no matter how much she wanted to hold it in.
Finch continued anyway, his anger rising with every word, “You are no different from them,” he stretched his arms out, gesturing towards the mutants, “These wolves you have subjected to have families just like you did,”
“They have brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, which you have ruined with this your foolish and thoughtless quest for revenge,”
“Not only have you harmed them, but you have also harmed your own family, you abdomen them, you've hurt more witches in this as well as wolves, so what is this all for?”
Sage's nostrils flared in anger, not wanting to believe that her father was right, but deep down she knew he was and this angered her even more.
Finch, for a split second thought he had gotten through to her, letting his guard down, but yet in her feat of rage, she attacked the three girls trying to throw them off guard, or rather connect with them and finish her spell.
“None of this would have happened if they didn't start it,”
“None of this would have happened if they hadn't killed Jacob,”
“NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED EXISTED,”
But no matter how she tried, Finch was already ahead of her, all hopes he had on her drastically crashed and he had no choice left. He had tasked a few of the witches to set up a barrier around Claudia and the other two, hence why Sage found it difficult to channel with them.
She realised what was happening and the fear etched on her features explained it, especially when she felt a heavy weight slowly pulling her down.
“What are you doing?” Sage stuttered as the more she tries to use her powers, the more she felt being enclosed.
A guilty expression surfaced on Finch's face, he never for once beloved he would subject his own flesh and blood to this treatment.
A punishment created solely for witches who had betrayed the coven, and his daughter was no exception of that law.
Sage realised what her father was about to do, her eyes widened in terro, “You can't,” she yelled breathlessly, “Dad, you…you can't, this is not how it's meant to end, we can finish this together, you don't have to do this,”
Two witches were already closing in on Sage, hands stretched out as they continued to mutter under their breaths, an incantation meant to seal a witches power, to separate her from what made her a witch.
Sage fell to her knees as she felt enclosed in such an open space, her tears rushed down as she felt the betrayal from her father.
Finch raised his hands slowly, his features twisted with regret, “I'm sorry, but you have violated the laws of the coven, and this is your punishment,”
Stilling her once and for good.
