Chapter 41 - Shall I feed it to you or would you eat it off the ground?
~Author’s POV~

Harriet sat, her eyes glued to the TV as she tossed a few pieces of popcorn into her mouth until her vision slowly began to dim. Meanwhile, Rael, who was seated just beside her noticed this, his eyes coated with something unfathomable as he stared at her. Her head rested onto the backrest in an uncomfortable way, and the box of popcorn in her hand was almost spilling. Rising to his feet, he turned off the TV, picking her up and heading to the room.

Once he placed her on the bed, he didn't leave. Instead, he sunk onto the bed beside her, pulling her closer as he buried his face in her neck. She stirred in her sleep before finally settling down. The night seemed peaceful.

The next day came, and Harriet's eyes fluttered open. She groaned before trying to stretch, only to notice something heavy holding her down. Her gaze trailed to rest on the hand wrapped tightly around her waist, making her eyes widen. Since when did the man start sleeping in her room?

She managed to wiggle out of his embrace, wanting to get out of bed, yet she halted. Returning her gaze to the man on the bed, she leaned in, trying to get a proper look at his face. His thick eyebrows, his long lashes that rested beautifully atop his cheeks, his fine nose, and his thin, pink lips. It was all beautiful, she thought. She only noticed recently how handsome he was—even more than many celebrities in the country. Her cheeks turned crimson in an instant.

Just as she was lost in her thoughts, the man's eyes shot open, making her gasp and lose her balance. She had fallen directly on top of him.

She tried to pull herself up, yet a force pulled her back down. Rael's arms had twirled around her waist, forcing her back down.

“You can continue looking,” came his first words, making her breath hitch. Girls would die to hear such an alluring morning voice. Even her head couldn't take it–it screamed, reminding her not to fall. Damnit!

“Who was looking? I don't know what you're talking about!” She retorted, trying to get off him, but he only pulled her back down, their bodies so close you'd think they'd merge.

In one swift motion, he spun her around, coming on top of her. Harriet's heart skipped a beat seeing the man towering over her. His tousled hair seemed even more attractive. And his eyes…she felt bare under them. Oh God!

Meanwhile, Rael's throat bobbed up and down, seeing how she looked under him. The blush that had come to rest on her cheek, and the way her pajama’s neckline had come dangerously low, revealing some skin.

Leaning down, he whispered into her ear.

“Guess what I want to do to you right now,”

Harriet felt herself shiver. She didn't know if it was from the morning chilliness or from something else. It had to be the latter–or both.

“I want to devour you, little lamb,” Rael completed, making her ears redden under her hair.

“Damnit! Keep your cock in your pants. I have school to attend!” She cussed, trying to push him off her, yet she seemed to like how close he was at the moment. Who was she deceiving?

He didn't budge, he just leaned lower, burying his face in her neck before moving downward to her collar. And in the next second, her eyes widened. His lips had come in contact with her skin, and he sucked on a particular spot, making it redden under his assault. She felt her sex moisten under her underwear, leaving her frustrated.

When he finally finished, he pulled away to admire his work before getting off her.

“Now they know who you belong to,” he muttered, remembering the incident from the last banquet. Malfoy had a visible attraction to her in his eyes. He must keep other men away from her by leaving his mark. He felt pleased with himself as he walked out of the room.

Meanwhile, Harriet rushed into the bathroom after he left, seeing the obvious hickey marrying her skin in a spot that couldn't be concealed by her shirt.

“Damnit!” she cussed, biting her lips. After taking a bath, she changed into her most recent style—baggy pants, an oversized T-shirt before tying her hair up in a messy bun. But this time, she had to use a scarf to cover her hickey. And whose fault was that? Rael's. She cursed his generation in her mind before leaving for school.

She had just walked into her class when Lena pulled her over. She saw the obvious cheerfulness around one the way, but couldn't tell what was going on. She didn't need to ask Lena before the latter explained what was happening.

“There's a resumption party at the school the day after tomorrow, everyone's excited about it,” she explained, making Harriet nod in understanding. She didn't care about all these things, this, she calmly pulled out her seat and settled onto it.

“There'll also be a talent show. What will you be presenting, Harriet? After all, you never had any classes, what talent could you possibly have?” Livia's voice rang out, making the class chuckle. They all knew Harriet had always buried her head in books and never even took etiquette classes, unlike Kylie. Pairing the two sisters side by side, one was high on top, and the other was so low on the bottom and knew nothing. Who knew if she was as smart as the rumors. Who knew if she usually cheats to pass? They all speculated. Kylie, hearing Harriet being mocked, secretly felt pleased. It wasn't until she didn't hear Livia's voice that she noticed something was wrong.

In the next second, Harriet had risen from her chair, going to stand directly in front of them, her gaze focused on Livia.

“If I remember correctly, Livia here had said she'd eat dust if I attended the Beaumont family banquet,” Harriet said, her voice catching everyone's attention.

They all turned to Livia. A few elites who had attended the ball suddenly recalled how magnificent Harriet looked in her dress that night. And how she had stolen all the attention being with Rael Morgan. Some were envious and cursing her for stealing her sister's fiance, while some were amazed. Livia, on the other hand, had forgotten her own words and needed to be reminded by Harriet herself.

“How would you want to eat it, hmm? Shall I feed it to you directly, or would you eat it off the ground?” Harriet's voice rang out once more, and Livia shivered, seeing the look in her eyes. Why did t
he person in front of her suddenly feel different from the Harriet they all knew?
