Chapter 18 Long Lost Memories
Xander
Intoxicating can't even start to describe the feeling as my mouth devours hers. The fire of desire licks down my spine hardening my cock, and I trace her bottom lip with my tongue, but she only kisses me harder, so I bite down on it and she gasps.
Then I'm plunging my tongue inside, my hands draw her impossibly closer, my hardened cock rubs against her belly and she moans again, whispering, "Xander..."
Something flutters in my chest, my pulse quickening in response but I ignore it.
I lead us to the bed, walking her backwards until the back of her legs hit the bed, then we topple on top of it, my body covering hers.
Her hands move up into my hair and pulls. Hard.
"Xander," she moans.
I growl, rubbing my erection against hers at the same time she thrusts her hips up, feeling her wetness through the thin material of her panties, her dress ridden up past her thighs.
"Firecracker," I echo.
My mouth leaves hers, a whine bubbling in her throat, but it dies down once I bite the sensitive spot on the side of her neck.
Suddenly, a voice whispers in my head, bite her. Mark her. Make her ours. Without warning, my canines draw out, scraping against the spot just below her ears, she shivers underneath me.
I jerk away from her, almost falling a second time in my haste to get up from the bed. She sits up on her elbows, confusion written all over her face.
I run a hand through my hair, letting out a shaky breath, while trying to calm my raging boner.
She stands and steps towards me, but I take a step back and hold a finger up in front of me.
Her hair is so disheveled it looks like she just got her brains fucked out. I'm sure I don't look any different.
She doesn't say anything, a quiet look of understanding crosses her eyes and instead of the desire from just seconds ago, they now harden into a cold gaze.
Her lips are swollen red, and for a moment I want to taste them all over again. I look away before my body betrays me again.
"I...need to go," I croak. I don't wait for her response before I'm dashing out of her room.
As soon as I'm on the last step at the front of the mansion, my paws hit the ground next, then I'm running , far away with no clear direction. My paws dig into the snow covered grounds, paw prints trailing in its wake with each step.
The moon, high up in the starlit sky becomes my beacon as I continue running to Moon Goddess knows where. I'm sure I'm well past the pack borders now, but that knowledge doesn't stop me...but a tree does.
I crash into it, hard enough to see stars and I stumble backwards before landing on my back - paws and legs in the air. My wolf whines, then huffs in annoyance, shifting back before I can even blink.
"Fuck," I mutter as I lay there, staring up into the night sky. My heart still pounding with the same force as when I was with her.
Her. Vanessa.
I've always prided myself to be a sane man - calm and always in control. Never one to be ruled by instincts. But tonight...tonight tested my limits, wanting to see how far I'll go before I break. I was ready to say, "everything else be damned, and let go."
No. This... whatever this is, needs to stop and I'll make sure of it.
It's only a contract and nothing more. She's only here until my ascension anyways.
With that thought in mind, I flip up into a sitting position first, ears cocked to make sure there's nobody nearby before standing on my feet.
It takes a while, but I finally manage to convince my wolf to shift and take us back to the mansion. Once I mention that it's to ensure what happened to Vanessa doesn't repeat itself, no other conviction is needed as we run at a speed that was definitely supernatural, the trees and everything blurring past.
Vanessa's door is closed once I get home, but the lack of light reflection indicates that she's probably fast asleep now.
I stand there awkwardly, my hand raises to knock, but I force it back down.
What do I want to say? I'm sorry?
No, I'm not. It was a mistake that never should've happened. I turn to the direction of my bedroom, walk in and shower.
The light goes off once I clap my hands twice. Then nothing but cold, dead silence remains.
I hear voices murmuring in harsh whispers as I run towards mother's room.
It's late and mother always sleeps in earlier than any of us - dad is always the last because he's always so busy attending to pack matters and other matters outside. He's the king so he has no choice even when he's tired.
I quietly hide in the corner closest to her room. The lights are still on and I see the shadow of a tall man. He has short brown hair but I can't see his face properly.
Mother looks at him with her eyes wide. and full of fear. I'm worried she'll get sick with the way her skin color goes pale, wanting to ask, until I see the man draw out a long, shiny blade with a white skull handle littered with strange drawings.
"Please, don't take her away. Neither she nor my son is a threat to you," she begs.
"This is for the greater good. You'll understand."
Then he plunges the knife into mother's chest, she screams but the sound doesn't escape, a thick, dark smoke comes out of her mouth and into the man!
I want to go her and help her, but I'm too scared. What if he kills me too?
Her body drops to the ground but he carries her and lays her on the bed, covering her up with the blankets, no blood stains are visible, and I watch the man disappear into thin air.
The next morning, the Queen's death is pronounced and the reason is because
she has had a heart attack overnight, while my sister, the Crown princess, Seraphine has gone missing.
