Chapter 160 - Contract Wife Morning, My Darling CEO
I want you to marry, Becca
Third Person POV
The atmosphere exuded an air of elegance.
The woman standing in front of him was holding a pipa and an embroidered Chinese cheongsam that revealed her thigh. It was a blend of traditional charm and modern allure. Her eyes sparkled with an enticing glint, a presence that rivalled the brightest stars in today's world of singers and movie stars.
Chad loved it this way the most. He found solace in this moment, a fondness for the refined and cultured atmosphere that was a replica of one of the West’s family traditions.
“Can you sing and play a song in the moonlit night of the spring river?” Chad told the beautiful woman.
A soft smile curved her lips as she assumed a dignified posture, her very presence radiating a romantic allure that held everyone captive. The graceful gestures she employed to coax music from the pipa were a display of the utmost elegance, an extremely charming performance.
Chad's gaze rested upon her, his eyes flickering with a fleeting appreciative light.
“You will enjoy this,”.
Henry smiled as he chimed in a casual yet knowing tone,
"You and I share a similar likeness in certain things,”.
“How?” Chad arched a brow at him.
“For example, I know I am rigid and tend to run whatever I do via military style just like you do, but I am better than you because, once in a while, I indulge in some fun and vent. As for you, you always looked bored and unhappy,”.
Chad swirled the wine cup which was made of blue and white porcelain, listening to the gentle flow of the music, he could feel it gently soothing his frayed nerves.
“If you have anything to say, you had better spit it out quickly. I am in a bad mood today, so you should dawdle less,” Chad stated firmly, his eyes closed.
Henry smiled faintly and did not delay anymore as he went straight to the point,
“I know what you’ve been looking for,” Henry started. “Jada’s body won’t hold for much longer but coincidentally, I recently found a heart that matches with hers,”.
Chad arched his brows slightly, he didn’t look surprised a bit.
“If you mean Jasmine Pierce’s heart, forget about it. I have no intentions of killing her,” he said friskily.
Henry sighed, his gaze dropping to Huang Tianyu's ring adorning his finger.
“Don’t worry, I have no idea whom you’re talking about. Anyways, I found this heart elsewhere and I intend to propose a trade with you,”.
Chad turned to look at him, his chiselled features defined by sharp lines were outlined as she stared at Henry blankly.
“What do you want?”
With unwavering resolve, Henry met his gaze, each word carefully chosen.
“Marriage – I want you to marry, Becca,”.
A dry chuckle escaped Chad's lips, as his eyes twinkled with amusement.
“Henry, our families can cooperate effectively even without any form of marriage between us. Why do you have to do this?”
Henry smiled gently as fondness crept into his eyes.
“You don’t have any siblings, so you don’t know that feeling. I am the oldest in my family and my parents are no longer on the scene. Even though I don’t particularly like my step-siblings, it’s still my responsibility to plan for them in advance,”.
“So?” Chad arched his brow higher.
“As you know, Becca already loves you deeply and Nelson likes Jada. Both of them are so young, this is the least I can do for them. Your marriage to Becca would strengthen our family bond and bring us closer and it will also give Nelson a chance to pursue his love for Jada,”.
“Are you aware that I and Jada are in a relationship?” Chad murmured.
“Yeah, I am aware, but I am also aware that your love for her has waned and I know you’re very worried about how to deal with her in the future,”.
The music was gradually becoming lonely, the melody had receded as the notes became sadder.
Chad stared at Henry for a while as if considering his words, and then finally put down his glass.
“If you had brought such a proposal in the past, I might agree, but now, I can’t,”.
“I know,” Henry nodded with understanding, “You fell in love with another woman, but it doesn’t matter. I will persuade Becca not to disturb her. You can keep this woman whom you love so much as a mistress savouring the bliss of your secret love while maintaining a perfect home front. It’ll be a win-win for everyone in the end. Is that not an appealing prospect?”
A scornful smile tugged at Chad's lips, his eyes piercing.
“Minutes ago, you were going on about how much you love your siblings and how their happiness is your priority but you want to push Rebecca into a loveless marriage. Henry, you’re cold to your bones,”.
Henry remained unperturbed by the critique.
“You are my friend; I'm merely placing myself in their shoes. Chad, this arrangement will be beneficial to you as well,”.
“That’s what you think,” Chad said coolly. “But what you don’t know is that the woman I fell in love with is already my wife and I’m not going to replace her with any woman,”.
Chad’s eyes reflected seriousness; the one Henry only sees when he’s talking serious business.
The melody of the Spring River Moonlight Night reached its crescendo, a surge of emotions mirroring the intensity of their exchange.
Their unspoken conversation ignited an invisible flame, a mutual understanding that words alone could not capture. Henry's gaze broke first, a wistful smile tugging at his lips.
“I can’t believe that you fell in love with someone. Remember to invite me when you renew your marriage vows,”.
With that, Henry rose from his seat, but Chad halted him.
“I must have the heart in your possession. You can name your condition. If I can meet it, then we have a deal,”.
Henry’s eyes were slightly puzzled as he stared at Chad.
“Why are you still fixated on your old love when you’ve found a new one? Do you care so much about Jada? Aren’t you worried about your wife being jealous?”
A trace of pain flashed through Chad’s eyes but was quickly replaced with a determined look.
“She won’t know. You can present me with your conditions. I’ll accept everything except marriage,”.
“Really?” Henry looked at him with a trace of confusion.
Then he walked up to the woman behind the Pipa and placed a hand on her shoulder. The girl obediently stopped playing, her eyes were beautiful like smoke and she was quite introverted.
Henry swept her hair from her face, tugging it behind her shoulders as he revealed her beautiful face.
“Look at her face and her beautiful body, is she not three times more beautiful and alluring than Cassidy Hart?”
Chad's brow furrowed, as a trace of impatience appeared on his face.
“What are you implying?”
Henry's hand trailed from her neck to her slender waist.
Her grace is akin to a lotus, her beauty rivalling a willow's delicate arch. Engaging such a captivating woman would be a gain, not a loss. Remember how beautifully she played that music, and how captivated you were. Once you sleep with her, I will give you a heart,”.
The woman’s delicate body trembled slightly as a hint of sorrow shadowed her eyes. Henry was one of the longest guests she has ever served. She couldn’t believe he wanted to give her away.
“Tell Mr West your name,” Henry commanded.
Because she was a professional, she was only sad for a minute. The next instance, she raised her head and looked at Chad with emotions in her eyes.
“If smoke is not smoke, nor cloud, cloud, then it is gloomy. My name is Qui Fei Smoke, Mr West,”.
She had a good voice that was soft and tactful, especially when she read poetry and she looked ethereal and stunning.
Henry’s eyes had a dangerous glint in them. He is not the kind of person that plays with superficial beauty. He always sought a natural elegance that spoke to him. Whenever he can’t find them in Wellspring, he spends a lot of money collecting them from all over the world. He preferred falling in love with pure natural beauty that he could keep for a long time and would not be available until the next 100 years.
Chad, on the other hand, is not moved by such beauty. With each passing second, he was growing colder and more impatient.
“Henry, if this is a joke, then the joke should remain within its bounds,”.
“Do you think I am a fool?” Henry scoffed, his voice laced with sarcasm. “I am not joking,”.
“The only thing I want for you, Chad, is to share a bed with this woman. Your wife won’t know about it. Don’t worry and even if she does, she’s not qualified to come at you. After all, she first slept with you and the moment a woman sleeps with a man, she should understand that her fate is as low as that of dust,” Qu Fei said.
Her words hung in the air, her eyes shimmering with a glint of sorrow before she lowered her gaze.
Slowly, Henry unbuttoned her cheongsam and slowly took it off, revealing a white-like jade skin. He ran his hand down the length of her body; she was delicate as a ticking bomb.
“I like her skin the most,” Henry sighed, “it’s like suet nephrite and the best silk in the world. Once a man touches it, he reluctantly lets it go,”.
When he finished speaking, he pushed Qui Fei gently towards Chad and she stumbled and fell at Chad’s feet, just in front of him. Up close, her beauty was stunning and unparalleled.
The tears in her eyes were like the most magnificent gems in the world, which was charming.
“What should I do first, Mr West,”.
