Chapter 152 - Contract Wife Morning, My Darling CEO

Third Person POV

Cassidy bit her lip, her big almond-shaped eyes brimming with sadness. She turned away to avoid looking at Jasmine and spoke with a hint of bitterness,

“Regardless of whether you have difficulties or not, things like things happen often, so don’t think too much about it anymore. As for my previous time when I couldn’t forgive you, it doesn't matter. It's impossible for people who can't be friends to try their best to get close, do you understand?”

Jasmine's shoulders slacked with sorrow as she trembled. She carefully looked up, as her tearful eyes locked onto Cassidy. Then she smiled, a mixture of disdain, self-pity, and aloofness evident in her expression.

She raised her chin defiantly, and all the emotions in her eyes turned into a cold void. It reminded Cassidy of the time she first met Chad.

“I understand. No one in the world understands better than me. I apologize for disturbing you, Miss Hart,”

Since she entered the entertainment industry, she has done everything in her power to climb the ranks. Men were drawn to her with some contempt, while women resented her out of jealousy. She had no real friends, and despite her efforts to fit in, she remained an outsider, encircled by an impenetrable iron wall.

She felt lonely, yearning for understanding, and was immensely grateful for the smallest kindness shown to her. Yet, she remained unseen, lurking in the shadows while secretly cherishing the little bit of goodness she received.

This was her way of doing things. She knew that there was a problem – that she was the problem, but she couldn’t change it. Thus, she desperately longed for someone who could truly understand her and enter her world.

She had thought it could be Cassidy, but alas, Cassidy was also a woman, and the emotional bond between women was as delicate as a picture depicted in grey, beautiful at first glance but easily blown away by the wind, leaving only a faint, blurry memory.

She feared self-love, loathed her shamelessness, and dreaded the repetition of her own mistakes, subjecting herself to self-inflicted torment.

After today, she will remain the same Jasmine – alluring, radiant, and sunny. She had to live with determination, striving urgently to better herself in every aspect, all for her own sake.

Becoming a better person, getting better opportunities, and becoming a stepping stone when necessary, only to be discarded when she’s no longer useful – that was her path.

She would work harder, she had to work harder!

At the Hong Hotel, a small hotel in Wellspring, Tricia sought refuge.

It was the best place for her to hide because no one would have imagined that she would hide there.

After discovering that she had woken up on Liam’s father’s bed, she had seen a way to elevate her career and was gearing up towards that until everything backfired and all of her affairs became exposed to the world.

Since yesterday, until this very moment, she has lost a significant number of fans who have now turned against her in anger. Various media have dug up all kinds of ugly materials about her, hoping to destroy her reputation completely.

Tricia knew exactly who was behind this. Cassidy might not have the power, but she had someone who would not tolerate seeing her being bullied. And it must be a powerful man who stood up for her, defended her, and even cut ties with her love interest to support her.

At this point, Tricia naturally knew that she dared not break up with Liam as Liam was the only noble person she had at hand. She must trap him before things get too sour.

She gathered her emotions and dialled Liam’s number. There was no answer from the first round, so she continued calling. After calling him several times, Liam refused to answer. Tricia felt helpless and threw her phone in frustration. The impact made a loud bang as it shattered to the ground.

At that moment, the door creaked open from outside, and she feared it might be a reporter. Hastily, she tried to hide in the cupboard, but when she saw half of the figure entering, she realized it was Reese, her agent.

“Reese,” Tricia cried out, “I didn't expect you to come to see me again. Oh!” Tricia sobbed and threw herself into her arms but Reese pushed her away from her without any compassion and then handed her a document.

It was a termination contract.

When she opened the document, she burst into tears as she turned to Reese.

“The company no longer wants me?” she cried bitterly, “I know they won’t want me anymore, but the least they can do is come up with a PR plan for me,”.

“It’s all your fault, Tricia,” Reese sneered “The company is no longer in the condition to salvage your reputation. Tricia, I advised and warned you about Cassidy, but you didn't listen. Now I've been fired. I have to ask my ancestors for making me end up dealing with someone like you,”.

In the past, Reese had taken care of Tricia because of her connection to Liam’s family. She had always been attentive, but now she was taking this opportunity to talk back to her. Something she couldn’t do all these years,”.

Tricia was so angry that her eyes turned red and she raised her hand to hit Reese. Since she was dating Liam, everyone had known her as Liam’s girlfriend and for a long time, everything had gone smoothly. Others worshipped her no matter what she did and she couldn’t remember the last time she was humiliated.

“Are you planning to hit me? Do you want me to call the reporters and let everyone know where you are right now? Do you know how much I’ll make when I give out that information?” Reese threatened.

The ferocious expression on Tricia’s face softened as she wiped her tears and pitifully clutched Reese's clothes.

“Reese, you are known for your intelligence in the company. Can you think of a way to help me? I don't want to stay in this run-down hotel anymore,” Tricia cried.

Reese felt so satisfied when she saw her like this. She used to be a slave, but now it was her time to live.

After all, it was her fault that she was fired and had no job right now. So, the losses had to be made up by her in any way possible.

Thinking of this, Reese gave her a gentle look as she helped Tricia sit down and carefully wiped her tears.

“Tricia, all hope is not lost. You haven’t reached the end of your tether. Wipe away those tears. Don't cry and ruin your face. This face is your last weapon,”.

Confused, Tricia asked,

“What do you mean, Reese?”

Reese smiled and asked,

“Tell me, what do you want the most?”

After thinking for a moment, Tricia replied firmly,

“Of course, I want to marry into a wealthy family. That's why I worked so hard. But now, I don’t think it’s possible,”.

Her mind flitted to the morning when Stephen Fuller had held her in his arms and anger flared in her eyes. It was Chad’s cruel means that forced her into this situation.

“In fact,” she said suddenly, “let’s forget it. Why are we even talking about this? I’ve had enough bad luck and I am not willing to become someone’s punching bag,”.

Reese held her hand, trying to calm her down.

“You can't be like this. Men despise women with resentment. You should understand this truth,”.

Tricia frowned,

“Are you trying to say I should continue waiting for Stephen Fuller? If that’s the advice, then I don’t need it. I don’t want someone to give me a chance and then completely ignore me. My calls go unanswered, I get blocked on Tweep and it seems like I don’t exist to them. I have no other choice left,”.

“That's not a problem,” Reese stated and crossed her legs.

Her composure was calm and poised as her eyes showed a hint of temptation.

“Tricia, as long as you give him enough reason, he will naturally contact you,”.

Tricia laughed

“Me?” She poked her chest with her index finger. “What reasons do I have? Unless I resort to suicide, he doesn't care about my life at all.”

“He may not care about you, but he cares about his family, doesn't he?” Reese's eyes trailed to Tricia's flat belly.

Tricia touched her stomach and froze for a moment. Then, she burst into laughter. Reese's words had struck a chord – indeed, she still had the most crucial weapon as a woman. What use was self-pity?

She picked up her phone and dialled Stephen Fuller’s number. The phone rang for a while and when Tricia almost gave up, he finally answered.

A trace of mockery flashed through Tricia’s eyes as she went straight to the point.

“Mr Fuller, I am pregnant,”.
